Brand new, nice, quiet sites in the woods. The sites are located at the end of a gravel road passed some rental cottages. There are four sites that are back in or pull in sites. There’s a creek with a Beaver dam near the sites and up the road, there’s a pond you can see when you’re coming in to the sites. The small town of Crawford has a very nice pizza place called Crawford pizza, which has other stuff as well. Also, Crawford laundry is right there for your laundry needs. There is also a really good Mexican place that’s within 2 miles of the sites. And Athens is just 20 minutes away.

Lizardsniffer is a working horse farm with a variety of rental cabins and RV slips. We DO allow tent camping. Each RV slip has water, septic, 50 amp service and Wifi. An Amenities Cabin is provided for use by all RV site guests. The cabin includes a full-sized washer/dryer, a full bathroom with bidet, and an oversized jacuzzi tub. Guests must sign-up for a 4-hour timeslot. The cabin is available for use between the hours of 8am-8pm. Many of our RV sites feature private fenced paddocks for people bringing their horses or dogs. Horse visitors require all current paperwork (Coggins, etc.). Dog visitors must be social and friendly and thus are allowed to explore the farm with their owners off-leash if desired. The property includes miles of trails for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Bring your own horse or experienced riders may be able to ride one of ours (subject to weight/experience matching with a horse). There is a small private stocked lake open to all guests of Lizardsniffer for fishing and swimming. At the lake you will find an amenities cabin called Glowy Bobber that has a full bathroom and outdoor shower as well as Kayaks and floats for guest use.

Lizard Sniffer Par 3 was a blessing. Randy, his wife, and Ollie (black lab), were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Star upon star rating! I can’t wait to go back.

Everything was great. We were welcomed at the entrance and even driven around property. Everything was clean and nicely maintained. Even so the water temps in pond were down I was still able to catch 6 bass and a large Bream. Campfire was nice and plenary of wildlife. Super secluded and safe. We will be back for sure.

Great spot. Beautiful creek and river. Access to Towliga was as described and kayak put in easy. Take out was manageable despite somewhat steep bank. Great shoals near by both up and downstream to fish.

We had a great time at this campsite. The property was beautiful. The bath house was accommodating. The outdoor shower was pleasent (and private). Randy was welcoming. It was awesome being able to explore all the beautiful trails with the golf cart he let us use. Wish we could have spent more time here but we were just passing through on our way to Edisto Isalnd.

6 nights at Brooks Lake, A Peace of Heaven

I loved my time spent at Brooks Lake. Bill and Laura are just the best people. Communication was great when I arrived on where to camp, where to park, where the facilities were, etc. The views are pristine. Beautiful trees, a gorgeous lake, you can fish, there are pavilions and picnic tables all around, and some friendly geese walking around as well! I would absolutely come back here again and look forward to it, already!
