Private, quiet, off-grid, trails, wildlife, a creek, camping, authentic. The cabin sits in the middle of a ten-acre property adjacent to the Talladega National Forest. It is located eight miles north of the small town of Heflin, Alabama, which is about an hour and a half from the metro areas of Birmingham, Alabama, and Atlanta, Georgia.
Off a small county road, a private half-mile gravel road leads to the property’s end. The cabin is surrounded by hundreds of square miles of forest. To the west, directly behind the cabin, there are over nine miles of continuous forest before reaching a hard-top road, and beyond that, over six miles to the next road. To the north, there are over sixty miles of continuous forest to the next road. Pinhoti Trailheads are nearby.
The ten acres is mostly forested, and all surrounding properties are similarly wooded. The back side of the property is bordered by a year-round creek. There are two open meadows, one of which is a pawpaw orchard.
Trails and a covered pavilion are located down by the creek. In season, you can enjoy blueberries, blackberries, and muscadines. Because the property is so remote—and because the surrounding areas adhere to International Dark Sky standards—you can enjoy spectacular stargazing on clear nights.
If you are looking for an off-grid experience in a forest and a quiet place to get away, this is the place for you.

1.3 acre property hidden in small town Glencoe, AL. Beautiful tall pines enclose this beautiful site in front of an old public cemetery plot that's rarely visited but has a pathway through the woods for exploring, a circle path we named Panther Path will lead you right back to camp. (The name Panther Path has a story. Basically keep an eye out for black panthers in these parts.) Our family and farm animals live on the property as well (Don't mind the rooster in the AM) but there's plenty of room to pitch a tent, bring your small camper or smaller skoolie (If rig is over 25 feet please message me after booking and we can figure out how to accommodate your rig best before arrival.) There is plenty of room for a couple tents as well if you are traveling as a group, amenities include: a brick fire circle, wood garden set for sitting with small table and some privacy from our family but a lot of privacy from the outside world, the graveyards are free to explore, but if you go in the gated one we ask that you relatch the gate.
Firewood can be ready at your campsite for an additional cost. We have seasonal events as well as a farm stand, a bus shop, and a greenhouse. (These are still projects in progress.)
We have two dogs, Boogie - a male and a very large dog, LGD - Livestock Guardian Dog, her name is Maple. Both dogs are very nice and kind. Maple's job is to protect our ducks and chickens from predators. She will bark but she will not hurt you. She will especially love you if you have treats or say 'Hello, Maple!" We will try to have her put away before bookings if enough notice is given. She will not hurt a human, she knows her job and duty on our homestead but she can be nosy as she runs the perimeter of our property often. If you have a fear of dogs or would like to make sure she is put up just send me a message beforehand and I will make sure she is put away secure. She also will not mind other dogs but please make sure if you bring a pet it is kind to other animals and we expect all pets are leashed at all times unless inside your rig.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL place with very kind and gracious hosts. We unfortunately got hit with almost 2 full days of rain so we didnt get to experience all the things we looked forward to experiencing. I generally judge a camping area by its access to good firewood. So by that this place is 5 stars. Lots of generously chopped, dry and seasoned firewood is available for purchase and it burns HOT. I will say this to anyone reading this thats thinking about staying in site P3, pack light. Its a haul and exhausting going up and down that mountain to get camp set up. Especially if you're a notorious overpacker like me who like to have his camp a certain way. I suggest hammocks or a small tent and bring a table or youll have nowhere to set or prepare ANYTHING. Its all personal preference of course. Anyway, definitely go see Dustin, youll be so happy you did. GREAT place. Thanks again Dustin for having us!!

My partner and I went on our second trip to bohamia at the beginning of this month, I love the campsites and the property so much and 100% recommend to anyone looking for an adventurous (but still comfortable) getaway! Unfortunately the strong June wind stopped us from staying as long as we planned to, but the property owner was very understanding and helpful! Even though we might avoid coming back during tornado season, we will definitely be planning on coming back when the weather is more stable!

Weekend Trip to Parksland Retreat
My husband and I are busy and exhausted and on top of that, we have been through some major life changes. This has led to a rough patch in our relationship. The only choice we had the weekend we went was to cancel all plans and just exist in nature. We didn’t have time or patience to work for it either. I didn’t want to set up a tent and I didn’t want to be in a house or a hotel. The sunrise cabin at Parksland was exactly what I personally needed. We got to be completely free with our bodies and minds. Which led to freedom of conversation between us. The windows and glass doors allow you to zone out and watch the birds fly and the trees sway. It is particularly charming in the rain. I am so grateful that I live so close to heaven. The sauna and swimming hole are added benefits. Cherries on top. If you need SERENITY this is your place but don’t mistake that word for boring. I had the most mind opening experience here!
Want to add, I have tent camped here as well and no matter how you do it, just do it.

Stopped for over a night stay. Was pleasantly surprised with the secluded CG. Took the short trail while there. Would definitely stay there again.

Tent site 1 was very private and quiet - exactly what we were looking for! The bathrooms are up a little gravel hill and are closer to all the other sites than this one, but the walk was just fine for us. Bathrooms were very clean and cute and even had some strategically placed screws in the walls to use as hooks for our stuff.

Very well kept place. Hiking trail, outdoor kitchen, bath house, out house, and a small pond. Power hook ups and WiFi. Fire pits at every site. You can also buy kindling for easy start fires. I have camped here twice and I love the area.

Beautiful property!! Glamping tents were cozy and the ac ran very very good! Bathrooms were really nice and clean. We had an amazing trip and will definitely be back. Was so happy to be able to use the canoe for free and even caught 6 bass in just an hour or so! Best campsite ever.

Beautiful piece of property, great location to stop at when driving thru. Cute little camping spots throughout the property with string lights and fire pits. Private and quiet from road and highway noise. The frogs come alive at night, the sounds they make are incredible. All the amenities are provided and some extras. Def on our list when passing thru again.

Group trip
We loved glamping at OMSP. Sarah’s tent was great and she was a very responsive host. The second night we lost power because a tree downed a power line. Some of our group said they prefer primitive camping so they were loving the power outage. We did the hike to the Peavine Falls. We skipped the 6 mile trails before and drove straight to the parking lot at the end of Terrace and you can take the blue or white trail. When you see two benches, follow that trail to the falls. There is so much to do. We look forward to going again.
