The experience was great, though the hike was STRENUOUS! Be sure to book site 1 because site 2 does not have the same view at all! Blake was a wonderful host and we would definitely return!

One of the coolest trips I've ever taken. This place is a hidden gem, and one that I feel lucky to have experienced. The hike in is strenuous, but the reward is something you can't really put into words. There's a certain energy up on that mountain, that is unique, and draws you in. It's one of those places you just have to visit to understand. Our host Blake, did everything he could to make sure our stay was perfect. He gave us a tour, kept the cabin warm, gave us the history on the cabins, and made us breakfast in the morning. He's passionate about being up there and it shows. The weather wasn't on our side, but the good times were. I will 100% be coming back again.

Outside the cabin overlooking the mountains. The amount of amenities available at the cabin surprised us. Enjoy fresh spring water from the sink as well!Checking out the space!Enjoying the view after a long day.

The hike up is no joke but makes the experience so much sweeter. Cabin was clean and well-maintained but still rustic. No electricity, no cell signal, yes running water. Really hits the sweet spot between completely stranded in the wilderness and having all your creature comforts. The view is incredible and there’s a sweet cabin kitty running about. Blake was very friendly and helpful!

WOW! This was the highlight of my trip to the area. Cabin was rustic with outstanding views. You can really just hang out and relax on the mountain.

The host, Blake, is great and really made our stay extra easy.

Please note: The hike from the parking lot is a bit more difficult than "moderate". It's a 2.5m hike uphill with some real steep bits. Its mostly under canopy so you're shaded but just be aware it is a workout, BUT it's worth it!

The experience was marvelous. Blake made us feel at home and still craving for his delish breakfast. The directions could be a little tricky and its important to get those arrow marks clearer for the future campers. The site was a true hidden gem and loved every bit of our stay there. The view was so pleasant that we just didn’t want to leave.
Its a lovely place indeed with a little work needed for the directions to help campers reach up the spot!

Absolutely gorgeous. Moderate hike up was nice. Then went a mile further up to see the highest point in Madison county. Spectacular views.

Such a beautiful cabin tucked away in the mountains! Everyone was very welcoming and helpful when our plans kept changing. The place itself is very clean, cozy, and accomodating for everything you may need (minus electricity, but who needs that anyway?). So happy my friend and I chose to stop here for a night. Worth the hike!!

Enjoyed my 3 day stay on the property, it was very beautiful and peaceful. Blake was a great host and very accommodating.

Directions to the property and trail can be confusing... If you're following Google Maps; even though it will lead you to a bright yellow mailbox, it will lead you to the incorrect address . Continue to drive down a extra minute or two and you'll find the correct mailbox with "19001" (it will be a very light-faded yellow/gold mailbox). Be sure to download the Google Map due to poor cell service in the area.

Once you find the mailbox, directly across the street will be a graveled parking area. The trail begins once you jump over the gate/chains from the parking area. You won't see any signs until you reach a fork about a mile into the hike.

Once you make it to the top, be sure to enjoy the natural spring water. =)

The Cabins were even better than we expected. The view was amazing, Blake was so helpful and friendly, and the cabins had tons of character and everything that we needed for a nice stay. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone. Our stay here was probably one of the best parts of our entire road trip!
