We have been recycling this farm for years. It was owned previously by a couple who worked for a nursery and they planted many varieties of trees. Later it was part of a Manitoba pilot project for hi-bred poplar so there is a 14 acre poplar forest that was planted on a grid. It is a very unique place. We love it here and hope you do too! Learn more about this land: Enjoy over 40 beautiful acres within the heart of the prairies at Blacknot Farm! Perfect for pitching a tent or parking your RV, camper van, or trailer. A wonderful family-friendly getaway only 20 minutes north of Winnipeg, and 10 minutes from Selkirk, Manitoba. There is outdoor access to restrooms, water, and electricity on the property. With 5 sites to choose from, you can select a very quiet and peaceful spot in the trees or field or choose to be closer to the house and barn with wifi signal, running water and flush toilets. While you’re here, you can go on nature walks, raid the garden, play yard games, enjoy a bonfire, and explore the woods. If interested, ask for a tour of the 3 season party hayloft with antiques, vintage video games, an old pool table, and a zip line. We have stationary and portable fire pits for your campsite. We can help with some firewood for campfires, a picnic table to enjoy your meals, and potable water that is available through a tap (both hot and cold water). All sites can be accessed by a traditional car, no off-roading or 4-wheel drive vehicle is needed.  If you’re interested in exploring the area,  Selkirk, Manitoba has plenty of fishing and a marine museum.  We are also a short drive to Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site. Oak Hammock Marsh Wildlife Management Area is a 17-minute drive. One of North America’s birding hotspots and a great destination for people of all ages! This 36km2 Wildlife Management Area features a restored prairie marsh, aspen-oak bluff, waterfowl lure crops, artesian springs, some of Manitoba’s last remaining patches of tall-grass prairie and 30 kilometres of trails for you to explore. Gimli or New Iceland is about a 30-minute drive north and is a great summer or winter destination. Rich in history, art, culture and outdoor discovery it has many restaurants, lovely beaches and the New Iceland Heritage Museum. There are 3 different listings to choose from: Deluxe Wall Tent in Forest Meadow, Bunkie in Forest Meadow, and Tent Camping in Forest Meadow. We have something for everyone, no matter the type of camper that you are! The surrounding area includes the beautiful and quaint, resort village of Dunnottar bordering along with the property: Matlock main beach on Lake Winnipeg’s southwest shore is just a three-minute walk away as is the hiking trail that meanders northward through Whytewold, Ponemah and up to Winnipeg Beach. Dunnottar Sports Courts for tennis and basketball as well as Julia’s Restaurant are a short one block to the east; Matlock General Store is a ten-minute walk to the north; many more amenities and attractions are available to explore throughout the Interlake, with lots to see and do in nearby Winnipeg Beach, Gimli, Camp Morton, Riverton, Arborg, etc. The property has many trails throughout the forest and meadow that are walkable all year round. Hip, hip, hooray! "Between the Flags Camp 'n Cabins" is now open to nice folks. Located a short 5 minute drive from the tourist town of Gimli, we've got 120 acres of forest. It's secluded and quite quiet with several kilometers of mowed, signed, and mapped trails, a pond with a floating dock and seating area, a common area with outdoor games, a fire pit, and a small stage for campers/renters to interact. There are 2 tiny houses available for rent: 1.) Micro Cabin in the Secluded Forest 2.) The Blue Owl Tiny House Experience. 3.) There are 3 non-serviced, clearly signed as RV#1, RV#2 and RV#3. These are back-in RV sites to accommodate travel trailers, fifth wheel campers, Class A, Class B, Class C RVs. All styles are welcome. 4.) Tent sites are available with parking for one vehicle. Both cabins, each RV and tent sites all have a picnic table and firepit. We have 4 traditional outhouses, a septic holding tank and a black-water tote for your convenience. Garbage and recycling receptacles are placed conveniently. We've set up a couple of challenging Scavenger Hunts along the trails. Printed checklists and pencils are in the book box located at the common games area near the stage. Berry picking Saskatoons, Cranberries, Chokecherries and Loganberries are abundant while in season. There are plenty of wildflowers and an opportunity to see wildlife in it's natural setting. There have been many deer sightings and on occasion coyotes and bears have been in the area as well. The popular tourist town of Gimli is a short drive away, where you'll find shopping, restaurants, swimming, fishing, boating, farmer's markets and festivals. Gimli Motorsports Park is close by featuring auto and motorcycle racing.

Great warm people. Property bit rough when you come in but hip camp field in the back was beautiful and separate from owners house. Lots if privacy. They came to check to see if we needed anything. They were wonderful. Bit loud with rosd noise at first but after 9pm quiet. One train came thru. But all in all lovely.

Weekend Trip to Forested Meadow at Beach Resort
I had a lovely time camping at Noah and Cheryl’s tent site! I came with little plans other than visiting the Oak Hammock Marsh, and Noah gave me many suggestions for local things to do. I enjoyed some time on the community beach and enjoy some food at the local restaurants. I felt like a local! I enjoyed my camp site under the stars with plenty of room to spare. I felt like I had a good distance and privacy from the other campers. Overall, Noah and Cheryl were very kind, I really enjoyed being at the site, and I will have to come back again with some friends. Thanks for having me!

This was by far the best camping/glamping experience we've ever had. Glen gave us such a warm welcome, even before we arrived at his property, greeting us at the entrance. He took the time to explain everything in detail and treated us to an off-road ride, showing us the stunning acres of his forested land. He also provided firewood and coffee in the morning—such a wonderful gesture. Glen is truly a wonderful host. The tipi was incredibly cozy, with all the bedding already set up for us, which made us feel right at home. We felt completely safe and at peace during our stay. One thing I’d recommend is bringing insect repellent, as there are quite a few bugs, but that’s to be expected in a nature setting. The best part is that you’ll have the entire place to yourself, which makes it feel even more special. The property has a full-sized BBQ, which was perfect for cooking, and Glen’s chicken farm added a nice touch—he kindly brought us fresh eggs for breakfast. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be coming back with friends in the future!

Had a great time, there were a ton of walking paths through the woods, it was well taken care of, and there were all kinds of extras like a scavenger hunt on the trails. We stayed at the RV site and spent out last night in the Blue Owl cabin, awesome little cabin, we'll definitely be back

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Beautiful property and very private site in the forest. The open fields were amazing for a walk with our dog on the cut grass trails. The property is a quick ~ 30 minutes to Winnipeg. There is a railway line to the south which you can occasionally hear but didn’t bother us. The host was able to provide water from their well for our RV water tank on the way in. We will definitely return on our next trip in the area. Loved it!

Camping in the Poplar trees was relaxing. It is fairly close to the hwy, but it was not too loud and we could hear the wind blowing through the trees not the vehicles on the hwy:) and the trees provided a nice wind block on a very windy weekend!
