Lost River Forest, Almost Heaven
Cabin is quiet and secluded in a beautiful forest. We were able to sit outside and and enjoy the changing leaves and sounds of nature. I was glad we brought our camp toilet because the outhouse had been comandeered by mice and spiders. Cabin could use a deep cleaning session. As a whole, the site needs some TLC.

A great little remote cabin tucked in the tall forest. The birds, breeze, and tasty spring water. The bed was comfy and a better equipped kitchen than we expected.

And I loved it.
I didn’t use the propane lights or stove, because I had solar lights and cooked on the wood stove, so I can’t speak to those.
But the stove was able to get the cabin really warm, even in weather that went down to the 20’s. The temperature often got up to about 80 in the cabin, and I’d have to open a window until it cooled off
The bed was comfortable, as was the furniture.
The property is beautiful, and a lot of the time it was eerily quiet, not even the sounds of birds. It is a mountain and very sloped. I didn’t get to explore as much because I’m recovering from a knee and ankle injury and just wasn’t steady enough on the steep terrain, but hopefully I can come back in a few months and be able to wander more.
My only suggestions would be some solar lights or colored reflectors at the bottom of the driveway because I arrived at night and drove past it, the road is really steep and there aren’t a lot of good places to turn around. Also, I wish there was a full length mirror, because after being outside, I found a tick on me (it’s the woods of course) but I was alone and couldn’t really do a good check for more.
All in all, Enis’s place is beautiful, comfortable, and a great way to get out and unplug.

What a perfect few days away! It was a mini adventure driving in and being so remote. The cabin was perfect and the natural spring was so convenient. The host and his son were super sweet. We will be back. Thanks!

This cabin was a little slice of heaven for a weekend! Without any of the distraction of modern amenities (no cell service, wifi, electricity, or plumbing), we managed to have all we needed for a comfortable and fun escape in the beautiful West Virginia woods.
Enis provides everything you need (and nothing you don't). Having an abundance of firewood was a gift, as we heavily used the outdoor firepit and indoor wood stove to keep us cozy (and well fed). While fun to have the option to cook over open flame, it was even better to know we had the propane stove inside for backup.
Also, the road up is no joke. All part of the adventure and making this feel truly off grid, the access road to the cabin should not be underestimated. We managed fine in an AWD RAV4, but I wouldn't recommend attempting with anything lower to the ground than an SUV. I can't wait to make a return trip to the magic cabin!

This little cabin was the perfect getaway. Its tidy and warm and has everything you need to be comfortable. The location is spectacular. We had a wonderful time and hope to return. Lots of space to explore. I would truly recommend a 4x4 vehicle though. We have a front wheel drive SUV that has traversed lots of rough forest roads, and this one nearly bested us with some prolonged deep mud patches.

Awesome cabin! I spent a long weekend here for a solo retreat and it was very comfortable, functional and secluded. The October foliage and weather was beautiful!! My clanky 2004 Honda CR-V made it there and back, but not without a new minor bruise to be honest, so be careful. I also picked up cell signal about 10 minutes up the hill (AT&T), so didn’t need to go too far if I had to have it. But I was quite happy to not see another soul, and the largest animal I saw was a squirrel (for better or worse). The cabin had no issue with bugs or leaks or anything, a bit of a gas smell from the propane but with the windows open it was fine. Recommended!

Very peaceful and secluded. Would definitely go back here again. Was able to get to the cabin in a stock Forester so something with all wheel drive and a little ground clearance is fine. There was a tree down across the trail on the way in so bring a chain and a saw or chainsaw just in case.

Enis has an awesome property in the mountains of West Virginia. The cabin is beautiful and very well-maintained. I highly recommend this listing. As others have mentioned, a vehicle with a higher clearance is a must.

First, definitely pay attention to the 4 wheel drive requirement! This location is truly remote and miles down a dirt road. That is also what makes it special! No cell service, no sounds of people, only the quiet breeze and natural spring nearby. You are right next to a national forest so just step outside to hike, bike and explore. We were truly off the grid but had all we need. The listing says no toilet but we found the outhouse perfectly fine and usable. Our kids and dog did not want to leave. We had a magical time and can't wait to go back!

Couldn't ask for more - no cell service, no people around, just you and the woods and a cozy cabin. Really grateful for the solitude and beautiful ridges of Enis' property!! Will sure to be back.
Can't say enough about how well thought out the cabin was, as well - comfortable chairs and beds, a lovely little porch to watch the stars from, and a neat little kitchenette for your cooking needs.

Enis was a great host and provided more than enough information to make the stay convenient. The cabin was exactly as described. It was very cold (20s) but the wood stove made the cabin very comfortable. As others have stated you will need a 4wd to get up there! The cabin has lots of kitchen stuff if you have forgotten anything to include spices, plates, cookware. Be prepared to bring what you need with you as the cabin is remote and trekking down the mountain to find a store would not be a quick endeavor. All in all I could not have been happier with my stay and I will be a frequent visitor!

Awesome secluded little cabin with everything needed for a winter getaway. If you're looking for somewhere to really get away from the city, this is the place. There wasn't a single person around for miles. My family really enjoyed our time together by the fire and we also appreciated being forced to "unplug" since there was no electricity and limited cell service in the area. Enis was great, and provided detailed instructions for finding the place as well as instructions on how to work the gas lighting and stove. He was also very communicative throughout the whole booking process leading up to our trip.

This may be my new favorite spot! Super private. The wood stove kept the cabin plenty warm, the propane stove let us cook a little Thanksgiving dinner, and the spring water was fantastic! There was lots of room to explore the property and we even had a bald eagle fly right over us at one point. Loved it! As others mentioned, four wheel drive is definitely necessary to get to it. It was quite a ride even with the Jeep, but totally worth it of course.

This was a great little cabin. We expected just a step up from a tent but it was well above that. There were more amenities than we expected. It was warm and cozy with the propane lights and the wood stove. We were there in late November and were quite snug. Definitely heed the advice about having a vehicle with adequate clearance as the road was bumpy. Our cargo rack on our trailer hitch bottomed out a couple of times. This was a nice place to be isolated and off-grid.

We wanted secluded and that’s what we got! 4 miles down a dirt road (highly recommend a 4WD!) to the cutest little cabin in the woods. The place was clean and had everything we needed. There’s no cell service so be prepared to completely unplug and unwind. There’s a well marked hiking trail along the ridge of the mountain but you have to climb some steep and rugged terrain to get there. Some of the trail was over grown with thorny bushes so wear pants and check yourself and your dogs for ticks as we picked up quite a few. Enis was wonderful with answering all of our questions prior to our trip and he even checked in via texts that we received once we had cell service on the ridge line and answered our current questions right away.

We stayed here for two nights and it couldn't have been a better escape from the rest of the world. The cabin is really homey and the propane heater kept everything nice and warm if it got too cold. There's a decent amount of plates, cutlery, etc... No running water though, so just be sure to plan by either bringing a water filter for the spring or some gallon jugs.
The property is beautifully scenic. The stars are incredible. Firewood for the fire was also a really nice inclusion as we spent most of our time outside. You can walk up the ridge to catch the sunset, but be warned, it's about 20-30 minutes straight uphill - but absolutely worth it once you get up there! You should probably have an AWD to get to the cabin as the road in is pretty bumpy and muddy.
Enis was an awesome host, checked in on us to make sure everything was fine but then left us to ourselves. Couldn't recommend this place more. great stay!

Precisely what we wanted! Rustic, remote with amenities to help keep our family (6 and 4 year olds) comfortable on the cold nights.
Plenty of adventure to be had, without much prep, wood stove to keep warm after hikes to hill crests, wonderful natural spring for a wash up returning from exploring nearby creek, and stocked kitchen and welcomed sofa and bed to eat and lounge at days end.
Enis was extremely helpful and attentive to how we waned to use the property and we would definitely be back as long as He continues to share this wonderful retreat.
A perfect place to disconnect to reconnect!

The description is accurate, this is a nice well kept very private cabin. The road to access you definitely want something with some ground clearance like a truck or suv, anything lower like a car will have a difficult journey. The cabin is very nice and has been well kept. This just as it sounds though a primitive cabin. We very much enjoyed our stay and plan to visit again. Enis is a super nice host and made sure everything was cleaned and setup for our arrival. His directions were extremely helpful and definitely goes above and beyond for his guests.

I highly recommend this cabin as a great escape from the craziness of life. Extremely secluded in a beautiful setting. Very comfortable beds and chairs. Spent many hours in the recliner. Hiked up the mountain for a beautiful view of the fall foliage. Host was very nice and helpful. Cabin was well stocked too.

This place was awesome! Be prepared to be off the grid and bring all your supplies (the cabin has extra stuff in case you forget something). To get to the cabin, it is a 30 minute ride (4 miles) up a gravel & dirt logging road. There are holes, rocks, muddy areas, and you definitely need a 4x4. It was a of fun driving up the mountain.
Enis is a friendly host and really wants to make sure his guests have everything they need.
The cabin is clean, not musty, and solid. The propane lights were awesome and even down to 38 degrees, they kept the cabin warm. Log stove inside, too.
Its a great place to get away from the world and unwind.
