Teresa and Jeff were wonderful hosts! The property was breathtaking during peak fall season. We enjoyed walking our dog on the property's many hiking trails, taking in the beautiful views, and tasting the moonshine made on the property. The cabin was cozy, the beds were comfortable, and the fire pit outside was a nice place to star gaze. The cabin was plenty warm with the little heater provided, and we didn't even run it while we slept. We look forward to going back!

Theresa and Jeff have a gem of a piece of land. I did a lot of research for the perfect getaway spot and I definitely chose right! The land has a short hike to a breathtaking view with a little picnic table they set up. There’s also an old homestead with a well-researched, very thorough self guided tour that can easily take you a few hours to see and learn everything. I also highly recommend a tasting - Jeff puts a lot of work and passion into the distillery and he and Theresa are so personable and a joy to talk to. Hope to be back soon!

Loafer's Glory barn German Hutte
Jeff and Teresa's property is wonderful. The cabin was very clean, well organized and cosy. Directions were extremely clear and hosts were very welcoming.

I loved this place. Loved it. You are basically in your own valley, with water, power, etc. A short walk from the lodge. A short drive from town. It's that wild West Virginia country you're looking for but without actually being all that isolated (if you've broken down in the wild before, it's not fun). We relaxed, hiked, biked, and grilled out. We will be back!

An absolute hidden gem. A very special place laden with history, stunning natural beauty and the most hospitable hosts in Teresa and Jeff. Our children loved it and didn’t want to leave - we felt the same and will return.
Where else can you find an 19th century historic homestead, a traditional distillery (the Maple Moonshine and Apple Brandy are delicious), hummingbirds and a night sky so dark the Milky Way is easily seen on a clear night?

A gorgeously property with 5+ miles of well maintained trails, cute cabins, the history of the homestead on display, the modern distillery, recommendations & itineraries to see local attractions, gorgeous views, and Xena the dog to welcome everyone! As much privacy or interaction as you like - I highly recommend chatting with Teresa & Jeff!

My friend and I stayed in the barn cabin (German Hutte) and had a wonderful time. We loved the way the cabin was decorated, it had a really cozy yet spacious feel to it. The cabin had just about everything you would need and more (some books, games, and puzzles too). We showered in the bathroom at the main house and that was clean with hot water. Teresa and Jeff were super friendly and accommodating and willing to answer all of our questions and give us whatever we needed. They have such a special property, and I feel lucky that they share it with people. Their place was SO QUIET. The main things I listened to all weekend were birds, wind, and insects. We spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying the view from our porch. We were able to do some fishing and hiking and walking around the property as well. Oh! We got to watch a fawn be born in front of the cabin as well. So cool. 10/10 would recommend. Can't wait to come back.

Gorgeous property and accommodations! The apartment was spacious, well decorated, had beautiful views, and had all the comforts you need including a heated mattress pad which was so cozy that I’m buying for my own house. Jeff and Teresa were very helpful and welcoming. We tried a tasting at his distillery on site and learned all about the process. The skies at night are so dark you can see the Milky Way, yet it’s a short drive to town for stores and restaurants. I would absolutely return and recommend this place to anyone!

Loafer's Glory Private RetroRetreat
We had a lovely weekend at the Retro cabin. We loved the peaceful and beautiful scenery and the wonderful hiking trails. There is no light pollution so you can really see the stars at night. Jeff was generous with his time and gave us a tour of his distillery, which was really interesting.

My partner and I had an amazing weekend on Jeff & Teresa's land. It was our first time in West Virginia and didn't know what to expect but this place had it all.
We wanted something a bit cozier than a busy campground, to not be completely alone out in the middle of nowhere without access to water and other basics, while still being surrounded by nature and mountains. This ended up being the perfect match for both of us.
Jeff and Teresa (and dog Xena) are excellent and very kind hosts that put a lot of thought into making it a great experience for visitors. Jeff makes incredible homemade apple brandy and it made a delicious souvenir. The stargazing from outside the cabin was also fantastic.
We were sad to leave and are already hoping to come back in the Fall!

Jeff and Teresa were friendly, and attentive to our needs. The cabin was unique and charming, and nicely decorated. The kitchen had a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and was stocked with convenient items for cooking/ grilling. The fire pit had a removable grate. The view from the deck was a nice meadow lined with maple trees, and we enjoyed watching the deer. I can't say enough about the nicely maintained hiking trails. The views were absolutely stunning. We also enjoyed the self-guided tour of the historic buildings on the property.

Jeff and Teresa’s land is breath taking. We loved the quiet and cozy cabin along with all the history was truly amazing. Jeff makes amazing moonshine and will definitely be back from more moonshine, great views and hospitality!

Jeff and Theresa were amazing and accommodating hosts. My wife and I stopped on the way to the beach with our 2 sons (ages 4 and 7). Plenty on the property to keep us busy with hiking, fishing, and even an on-site moonshine tasting from Jeff! Exploring the old homestead was a big hit as well. Highly recommend this stay to anyone looking to unplug for the weekend and relax, while still keeping some creature comforts.

Loafer's Glory Boho Bungalow was great! The cabin had everything we needed, plenty of storage space and towel hooks and cooking equipment...even air conditioning! Jeff and Teresa's land is stunning, so beautiful, and they provide lots of supporting materials on the historic buildings preserved on the property as well as excellent trail maps. We hiked all of their trails, some quite steep and challenging, which are neatly mowed and include tucked-away surprises like benches and picnic tables at beautiful views, and felt completely alone in their beautiful, historic woods. Socialized with some other guests over the main house campfire. Perfect place for a get away, highly recommend!

Jeff and Teresa were wonderful hosts! I booked this well in advance hoping to see and photograph some dark skies during the new moon. The weather didn't cooperate but I still needed a break from the city so I went anyway and I'm so glad I did! The apartment is really well-appointed, super clean and very user-friendly. I brought food to cook the first night I was there and was able to use the prep kitchen, which was great too. I took advantage of nearly all the hiking available on their land and even on rainy days, it's beautiful and peaceful. Jeff's moonshine is great...I highly recommend a tasting. I will definitely plan to come again, hopefully when the skies are a little more visible.

We loved this spot. Wide open fields but also close to Jeff and Teresa's home (where the food is!). They operate on a historic farm and you can tour the old farmhouse buildings. PLUS Jeff has a hobby the fruits of which patrons of all sorts can appreciate (well, those of drinking age). We will be back!

Loafer's Glory Rustic Camp Cabin
Jeff and Teresa are very nice people and kind. The cabin was very cozy and clean and my family was impressed about details and services they offered. The place is located very nice hillside area and has a very nice view. The place offers nice trails and ponds to fish and experience to old German settlement. I definitely recommend to visit. I will be back for sure.

Jeff and Teresa were absolutely awesome. They were extremely knowledgeable of the history of their camp and the surrounding area. They were also very friendly and made everyone feel welcome. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give them a 10. If you are looking for a getaway in a rustic outdoors setting they are who you want to book with.

The cabin apartment was very comfortable, extremely clean, and a lovely setting. The porch with a porch swing is a wonderful place to relax. The trails are good exercise, but not too long. Jeff and Teresa are extremely welcoming and take very good care of their guests. I had a wonderful time and would love to go back!

Loafer's Glory Rustic Camp Cabin
We had an absolutely fabulous time at Jeff and Teresa's cabin! We had high expectations based on the beautiful pictures and our experience far exceeded the expectations. We found beautiful nature, peace and quiet, amazing hospitality, great hikes and bathing in the river, and an authentic West Virginian atmosphere. In short- we loved it and will be back!

I loved everything about the barn and this property! I found the barn extremely clean. The barn provided us with lots of the "home" stuff we needed (i.e. table, beds, mini fridge, etc). I thought the inside and outside were so well designed. I cannot wait to come again. Jeff and Teresa did such an awesome job making us feel welcome. Hats off to you both!
Highly suggest: exploring the farm trails & original home steads, go to Seneca Rocks (beyond worth it), watch the stars at night (INCREDIBLE), stay more than just a weekend...I wanted so much more time.

Loafer's glory is a beautiful cabin amongst the great wilderness. I was not expecting a luxurious experience, but what I got was much more than what I expected with immaculately well.magaed cabin, very well thought out design (particularly during the covid times) and a great and welcoming host who attended to all our needs. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who might want to visit it. Also, since the property is in the wilderness and away from light pollution, you can also go star gazing in an open field within the property.

Was our first getaway during the pandemic and it couldn't be better. The barn is beautiful! There are nice hikes you can take on the property and not see another person. Teresa and Jeff have kept the place clean, stocked, sanitized, and ensure that bathrooms are not shared. Our kids loved running up and down the meadows, playing cornhole, making a fire, and Xena, the dog, was a great host to our canine as well!
