Less than 10 minutes from the rim of the New River Gorge, Deep Mountain Farm is nestled quietly along the edge of dense forest. The farm is comprised of nearly 30 acres of native woodland made up of hardwoods and precious plants Many wild animals call it home. Our intention on the farm is to interact with the land in a way that is healthy. Healthy for us, our livestock, the water, the air. Healthy in a long lasting way, building fertility in our fields that goes on to feed generations. Learn more about this land: We welcome you to our working farm located in the New River Gorge region of West Virginia. This land has been farmed for over 150 years, but sat vacant for nearly 40 years before we settled down. We have poured our heart into this land, every year we make progress towards further transforming it.  Just 5 minutes from town our farm is the perfect place to park your RV while you play here in the NRG. With only one RV hookup site you will have the farm to yourself. The site overlooks our field and is a short walk to our outdoor shower. Not far from the site is a large fire pit, we can provide a bundle of fire wood . The sight has power and water hookup and room to turn around to exit. During your stay you can enjoy the sights and sounds of a working farm. We do chores around 9/10 AM and invite any curious guests to join us! Christine would love to share her passion for farming with you. Looking for a more in-depth farm experience? Check out our "Extras" and lend a hand on the farm and learn about the land from Christine. Our farm does have working livestock guardian dogs. They will spend the night barking to keep our sheep safe and coyote and bears at a distance. Over the years, when asked, guests reported they had not noticed the occasional barking after dark. We ask that you do not enter any paddocks they are in and only interact with them when in the presence of the farmers. Thank you! It wouldn't be a true farm visit without a farm fresh meal! Inquire about purchasing a dozen farm fresh eggs to enjoy during your stay or grab a dozen for the road! Christine is looking forward to meeting you this season!

      Beautiful site close to hawks nest

      The location was undeniably beautiful with breathtaking natural views. The campsite was spacious and private but some advertised amenities were unfortunately not available. I also feel the need to let people know the site is a bit more rugged than photos show right now. Prepare for embracing nature! Our host was super friendly and responsive - we did not meet her in person as she was away for the weekend. Overall, a decent stay. Would like to come back in cooler weather!

      Christine was a delightful and considerate host. The property is absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. I loved seeing the chickens and cow- and her two farm doggos are very well trained, friendly and I enjoyed their visit to us. We just loved staying here - and it’s a perfect spot if you want to enjoy all that the New and Gauley rivers have to offer . The NPS visitor center was wonderful and the trails were great. The area is filled with history and beautiful scenery . Staying on Christine’s farm was a great choice for us.

      I had an amazing time at the farm - the land is beautiful, and I really appreciated Christine’s hospitality and insights. I definitely recommend helping out on the farm as well if you’re so inclined!

      Stopped over. It was a neat place and a very private campsite. Fire area was lovely. But a few things to consider. It is a working farm and you will have sheep chickens and a cow (and their noises) as neighbors. That was totally fine for us and a lot of fun for our kids. But that also means there is a fair amount of live electric fencing around. We've got a very young child and that was a bit of a worry (she never got zapped so not sure how powerful the fence is). Wouldn't be a problem for adults or older kids. The other problem with the electric fence is the power supply made a loud electric spark click noise every few seconds. It also had live wire terminals. If you want to hook up to electric power (located at the fence power supply) you'd have that click going next to you all night long. Our RV is self contained so we camped a few yards away quite happily. All in all it was a good site for a stopover although the fence makes it a little tough for super small kids. Host was great to deal with.

      A beautiful place to stay with very friendly hosts! It was great to have power and water available on site. There's so much to see and do in the area, I wish we could have stayed longer. We cooked dinner over the fire and watched the fireflies winking. Our kids loved seeing the farm animals (cows, sheep, chickens & guinea fowl) and helping find eggs in the morning. The road noise didn't bother us but the rooster was an early alarm clock!

      Deep Mountain Farm RV Campsite
      This site was absolutely charming and we loved it. After dark, there is no light pollution and you can easily see The Milky Way in clear definition above you. She supplied us with ample firewood and even had a contraption for easily grilling food over the campfire on wrought iron racks. We especially loved the guinea hens and all the other animals on her farm.
