Amber and Larry are the greatest! This is our second stay and both stays have been incredible. They are amazing hosts and truly take care of you like family. I could go on and on about how amazing they are. The kids and I love it so much. We hope to make it out again this summer. Thank you Amber and Larry for taking such great care of us! We cant wait to go back! This is really a magical place. Thank you for sharing your enchanted lake!!!

Waterfront Cabin at The Oasis
We had a very enjoyable stay. Beautiful view of lake, comfy cabin design and easy to find. Met some really nice folks staying nearby. Its located a fairly short drive to Blackwater State Park with beautiful waterfalls and trails.

Rushing Creek Waterfall Site
Wonderful tent site next to the waterfall for our June trip. Really was secluded enough from the camp sites that we felt “alone” which is what we wanted. Had some kids from other campers hike down the creek but that was fine during the day (got annoying when they did it at dusk while trying to get our toddler to sleep). Tree cover was wonderful too when the sun was beating down. Has a fire pit right next to the creek and a picnic table. Enough space to put another two tents even. Will look to stay again in the fall as a base for hiking in the area.

The lodge (4 person) was amazing. Simply the best lodge experience so far. The place was more beautiful than the pictures and the hosts provided a lot of useful things in the lodge which we did not expect. Enough space for privacy as other lodges/campsites are well separated. Beautiful lake/pond (it was super clean and blue). Great view of night sky.

The camp ground itself was nice and maintained. The scenery was beautiful and the owners hospitality was excellent! I only stayed for a night but that itself is my biggest regret when it came to camping here, I should have stayed for several nights! I without a doubt will be coming back again one day!

Larry and Amber's farm is truly a slice of Appalachia heaven. Set in the beautiful West Virginia mountains dotted by windmills in the background is nestled this working family farm that boasts a number of different camping experiences from secluded in the woods to small cabins right on their gorgeous pond. And yes, the water is as refreshing and blue as it looks in the pics.
Larry was very attentive and made sure i was well stocked with firewood and even offered to let me stay in one of the empty cabins if the rain got too heavy. Swimming, cooking, and relaxing. What a wonderful way to spend a weekend.
Added bonus- the toilet was as clean and well maintained as I have ever seen at any campsite.
I would definitely stay here again.

We are so thankful that we stumbled upon this place while searching for something to do this Fathers Day weekend!
The host we met (Larry) was extremely friendly and was enjoyable to talk to. We loved all of the stories he had about the property and him and my fiancé had a lot of similar interests, so they had a great time chatting!
The property is absolutely amazing! Yes, the water really is that blue! We basically had the whole property to ourselves because the weather was expected to be bad, but it ended up being the perfect weekend.
Wood was provided, the outhouses & port a potty’s were EXTREMELY clean (the cleanest we’ve EVER seen) and the hosts had so many floats/boats/items to play in the lake with!
It was an excellent experience and we hope to come back soon!
The ONLY suggestion we had was that we wished that the 2 waterfront tent sites were labeled with wooden signs like the other sites were. We booked Waterfront Campsite #1 based off of other reviews saying that it was super close to the dock, had a fire pit farther from the edge, and was closer to the outhouse (we had our 2 year old with us!). When we arrived, someone was already set up in that site, so we ended up in Waterfront Campsite #2. This by no means disturbed our stay at all and we truly had the best time!!
Definitely check this place out; it is BY FAR our favorite place we’ve camped.

If you’re looking to connect with nature your will do just that at this place. Wildlife and nature beauty at every corner. The lake was an absolute gem. Being told that they use to dig limestone out of it and that they’ve taken their cameras 40ft deep the water is soooooo blue! Absolutely recommend 10/10 camping at its finest. The natural born camper will not be disappointed.

There was heavy rain during my stay. The cabin was cozy and enjoyable in the rain. The hosts were on top of things when a pathway was flooded. The cabin was nicely setup for a relaxing nature getaway.

Waterfront Cabin at The Oasis
We had a great time camping here! The weather was a bit unpleasant - rainy, windy, and quite cold, but me and my kiddo had a good time anyway. Amber was a great host and came by after the big storm with a fresh supply of dry firewood. Highly recommended!

Rushing Creek Waterfall Site
We camped at the Rushing Creek Waterfall tent site. It was very secluded and tucked away right on the water's edge. There were heavy rains the few days before we camped so the creek was moving quickly and fairly loud but it blocked out any other background noise and was enjoyable. There were other campsites on the property but they were far from this site. The blue water pond is stunning and a short hike from the waterfall camp site. Directions on the hipcamp app were accurate. Fun relaxing time.

Spring peepers, bull frogs, whip-poor-wills, ravens and coyotes yipping!! I had an amazing time while tent camping on Amber's land. I enjoyed visiting with my neighbors from the other campsites. The sawmill lumber composting outhouse was well kept. The only thing that would've made my trip complete would've been on-site fishing. I would like to suggest a zipline going across the quarry lake. I'll sign a liability waiver too! Overall, this is a great place to relax and connect with nature.

We stayed at one of the tent sites at Bear Run Farms and had a fantastic experience. The site is off-grid with no electricity or running water, but everything you need for a comfortable, quiet getaway is thoughtfully provided. The entire camping area, which includes a few other tent sites and small cabins, feels very secluded and is surrounded by open land with no neighboring properties in sight.
The outhouse was impressively clean and even had solar lighting at night, which made it easy to find in the dark. The hosts went above and beyond by providing plenty of firewood, tiki torches, and fuel. It made evenings around the fire even better.
We were the only campers there during our stay, but even if all the sites and cabins were in use, it would still feel more private than most campgrounds or state parks. There’s a brand-new playground for kids, and our dog loved being off-leash the whole time. She only got close to the cows once, but it was no problem.
The lake was a highlight—clear, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing on the floating docks. We also really appreciated the total lack of cell service. It was exactly the unplugged experience we were hoping for.
If you’re looking for a bit of town life or need supplies, Keyser, WV is just a quick drive away. Blackwater Falls State Park is also close by and made for a lovely afternoon outdoors.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to get away and enjoy some quiet, rustic time in nature.

My camping buddies and I loved tent camping at Bear Run Farms! We recently stayed at the Wooded Rustic Tent Site 1 over Easter weekend and was blown away by how great the experience was. Using the coordinates to drive there was extemely easy. Our tent site itself was very spacious and private, even though there were other cabins and campsite spots on the property. The porta potty was surprisingly very clean and not smelly. The firewood was also surprisingly great — it smelled incredible (maybe that's just normal wood smell right after it's been chopped? but we could smell a distinct nice smell from our campfire that we've never had before), and they offered a generous amount for just $20. We had more than enough for two days of campfires.
There’s also a ton to do right on site — we especially loved the lake (really is as blue as the pics) with floaties & pond for fishing. Plus, both AT&T and Verizon had limited service, which was ideal: enough to check messages if needed, but still unplugged enough to enjoy nature. And at night? The stars were incredible. Clear skies and minimal light pollution made for some amazing stargazing.
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and responsive, always just a quick message away through the app if we had any questions. You can tell they put a lot of love and care into the place because everything was very well maintained, from the grounds to the amenities. Overall, this place is a perfect mix of comfort and nature — we’ll definitely be back!

We initally booked Waterfront Tent Site 2 but ended up staying in the Overlook Cabin. Every site on this property is an absolute gem! Do no hesitate to book this destination. The stay exceeded expectations!
Our stay at Overlook Cabin Site was nothing short of spectacular. We booked this retreat for its unique blend of natural beauty, seclusion, and the inviting blue oasis!
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was a thoughtfully maintained and lovingly hosted property. The cleanliness of the cabin was impeccable, making us feel instantly comfortable and at home.
Amber and Larry, the hosts, were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. They even gave us a personal tour of their property and introduced us to their adorable farm animals—a memorable and wholesome touch that made our experience even more special.
The land itself is breathtaking, offering ample privacy and uninterrupted views of the surrounding nature. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with the off-grid feel, makes this the ideal spot for anyone needing a break.
There were no drawbacks—only highlights. Everything was just as described, if not better. Overlook Cabin is the perfect getaway for anyone simply looking to recharge in a serene, beautiful environment. We'll absolutely be back!!!

Place is very private and beautiful. I like the lake so much and would consider coming back again. I would suggest that signs are bigger and clearer for sites as its easy to miss, other than that our experience has been awesome!

Overlook Cabin
So incredibly peaceful, the cabin was so clean and we slept there the first night because it was cold, but then we ended up pitching our tent and sleeping outside the second night because it was so lovely and quiet. Bathrooms were so clean, we got to see the farm, meet the animals and my son was able to play with the kiddos that live there. Close to Davis, which was a wonderful town, and close to some incredible hiking as well

The blue basin was beautiful in person and clean. We would definitely come back again. Very family friendly. Plenty of space for kids to run around, playground, and tubes/paddle boats were provided for the water. Outhouses were clean and within good walking distance.
While very spacious, I can’t say waterfront tent site 2 gave us the privacy we had hoped for, the two sites were maybe 100-200ft apart. We would actually recommend waterfront tent site 1 over waterfront site 2, especially for those with children. We say this because the fire pit was close to the slope for site 2 (which may not be safe for kids), site 1 was closer to the outhouse, directly in front of the playground, and closer to a dock. Site 1 also had more wood available and their tiki torches worked.
If you’re looking for plenty of land to run around with activities and something fun for the kids, this is your spot. If you’re looking for something more private and quiet, this may not be it.
Overall we hope to come back with a bigger group and rent both sites. Would definitely recommend Amber’s land. She even came to greet us which was nice.
