Stoney Creek Campground

This is such an amazing spot to relax and camp at. Each site is spaced out nicely. Level gravel parking which is great if you’re in a camper van like we use. So nice to have a heated bathhouse when it’s freezing out too. I’d love to come back in the warmer months to see everything filled in.

Creekside RV/ Tent Site #4

This was an amazing little spot to camp! The water flowing right beside the campsite and the view of sharp top were absolutely stunning! It was nice to be able to order a bundle of wood at the site ready for our arrival. The bathroom was very clean and had a shower as well as washer and dryer. Chris was very quick to respond to questions. 10/10 highly recommended and will visit again!

The campground was well maintained. Chris was a great host. There was a very special cat that guided us around do the weekend. The bathroom was clean. The shower was adequate. We will be back for sure!!

Great campground! We had a beautiful view of Sharp Top from our site. It was lovely being able to hear the creek all night along with a couple owls in the early hours. The sites were spacious and felt pretty private although we seemed to have the place to ourselves. The bathouse was clean and nice. I never caught his name but this little kitty was an excellent host too. Would definitely stay again.

Peaceful camping

I have visited several times my favorite is site #9. I plan on returning many times. It is peaceful, close to local sites and the country store is very convenient. Chris is constantly improving his place. I would and have highly recommend to others that is looking for a peaceful place to get away to.

My dog and I were just passing through on our road trip and what a beautiful place to stay! We got there late, but were able to set up and an adorable orange kitty came to help. I really enjoyed how easy it was to find the site, despite it being really dark, and the site was flat and ready for me to set up. The creek at site #9 is amazing as well, my dog was a happy boy in the morning

Quiet, peaceful campsite. Close to many outdoor activities but not far from town! Chris was a great host. Highly recommend for anyone with a small camper or tent/van looking for a more serene camping experience.

A great place and host. Added bonuses were the nearby gas station , a nice view of sharp top mountain, close to the hiking trails for Peaks of Otters and close to Lynchburg. The bathroom has shower. washer and dryer. He has a good WI-FI connection. The landscaping is also nicely laid out. The cats and chickens are super friendly.

Stayed here in my 20' van for a week. Beautiful property, easy to get in once you figure it out. Bathroom was sufficient but as other have said it could use some upgrades. Very worth it for the price. Inconsistent cell service with T-Mobile and Google Fi (sometimes great sometimes non-existent). Cute neighbor cats that hang around too :) would definitely stay again!

We loved our site #9. The sites are spaced far enough apart for privacy. The creek was so pleasant listening to as we slept. The bathroom and shower is a plus. Very close to peaks of otter. Would definitely recommend!

We absolutely loved this campsite. It was super cozy and had beautiful views, both of the stream and woods and of Sharp Top mountain! The property was great. The bathhouse was very nice and the site itself was clean with plenty of space to set up camp. It is the perfect spot for a weekend camping trip and we’d definitely come back again!

#5 is a great spot! We had enough space to set up a tailgate tent with our vehicle. The spot is set up on high ground so there's plenty of space for rain water to drain away. The spot also overlooks a stream though we didn't venture out to it. Make sure to read Chris' directions for how to find the campsite so you don't miss the driveway you should take to enter the property. The bathroom and shower were adequate and about a 2 minute walk from #5. All in all, great place and I would stay again if I'm in the area.

Great spot! The campsite was easy to find, peaceful, and just what I needed for a quiet getaway. Fantastic location with proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Peaks of Otter, and the town of Bedford. Chris was very responsive and made everything simple. Loved the views and the stargazing at night. Would definitely stay here again.

Chris' place is perfect. I had the site by the creek that's also next to some wildflower areas. I walked the trail and was able to spot some amazing flowers such as passionflower, monardas, fig and apple trees, along with other beautiful trees and flowers. I spotted a common blue tailed skink, deer, and a friendly German Shepard. I stayed two different times, finishing up an assignment in Roanoke. I appreciated the hot shower and bathroom. I would stay again for sure. I felt safe and Chris and his dog were very friendly.

Great for jeep camping

Campsite perfect for jeep camping. I enjoyed the quiet and views of the creek and drive in from Roanoke. Area isn't loud. Lots of pretty flowers. Shower and bathroom are a nice touch. Would stay again.

Stoney Creek Campground

We had such a great time at Stoney Creek Campground! The place is super relaxing, nice and clean, and it’s the perfect spot to just enjoy the outdoors. Chris, the host, was awesome—super friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. He gave us some great tips for the area and really made the whole experience even better. We camped with our two kids and enjoyed our stay to the fullest. We had good privacy. However, our tent did not fit the platform. We have a 9-person pop-up tent, so make sure to check the dimensions if you have a larger tent. The bathhouse is very clean and convenient. The creek is shallow. Overall, the campsite is really beautiful.

Nice little spot for camping and taking your pets My wife and I really liked the place have to go back when it’s a little cooler few days there is all you need to unwind at the foot of Otter Mountain had to cut our trip short because of work. Chris will make you feel at home what ever you need all you have too do is ask

Nice little getaway

Nice little place just a short drive from Peaks of Otter and the town of Bedford. Beautiful area with stunning views. It was really hot when we stayed and we and our dogs really appreciated the cool little creek beside our campsite and the short trip up the road to the parkway where it was a good 10 degrees cooler. Chris was nice and had our firewood ready for us. The bathhouse has a sink, stand up shower and toilet with heat and air, with a washer and dryer if needed. It’s just a short walk away. There’s a cute little country store across the road that has anything you need, but it’s cash only, so have cash on hand! I would definitely recommend this place. Quiet, peaceful…perfect for a getaway.
