Rented 4 days there but I left the next day because outsider tent me and my friend heard a bear roar but it was a great bonding experience. 10 out of 10 would recommend I'd give that bear a high five. But on a serious note, this place is very rugged be ready because there are bears out there

It was exactly what my friends and I needed for an overnight before heading to the National Park. The drive in was beautiful in the fall time and the chairs to sit on were an added bonus. We had a small car and it made it up the hills just fine. I would note that the drive into the National park was a little over an hour. It was neat though as the property did line up right with the park boundaries!

A great alternative to a campsite in Shenandoah National Park. It's on the west side of the park about 45 minutes to either Thorton Gap Entrance (Highway 211 / Lee Highway) or Swift Run Gap Entrance (Highway 33 / Spotswood Trail).

Host was super courteous and informative. The night was pretty quiet except for some barking dogs in the distance. Overall the space was very private and perfect for a bonfire. Be sure to map out the route of you’re coming from/going to the park. This was quite a bit further than I thought because I didn’t check beforehand.

I’m not normally a person to write a negative review but I do not recommend staying here. I’m sure the host is a very nice person but there is little to no privacy at this spot, you are behind somones house, like you can see it from the camp spot. There were also a crazy amount of bugs. I go trail running every week, so I am used to bugs, but this was like way too many. Idk it just wasn’t a vibe for me, but I wish you the best and the woods were beautiful!

Host was communicative and very accommodating. The spot was close enough to the National Park for easy access, but excluded enough to be primitive and private. We had a 4wd truck that was packed to capacity, and we made it in and out without any trouble.

Site was great! Pretty secluded and quiet. Definitely need a 4X4.
Only slight downside is that the site is slightly sloped but you can still find flat spots.

The owner was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The view was stunning, and the privacy made it feel like a true escape. It’s also just a short drive to Luray, which made it easy to explore the area. Overall, a peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

Getting to the location of the campsite was manageable with my Honda civic, a couple very steep hills I had to floor it to make it up, regardless the campsite was great no issue with the spot, EXCEPT for dogs, there were dogs that were barking that you could hear in the distance (you couldn’t see where) that made it difficult to fall asleep, that’s my only complaint, I wasn’t able to truly just enjoy nature because of the constant barking at night

We loved camping here! We brought our dogs and they loved it as well. I do recommend having a vehicle that can drive up steep and muddy terrain.

Exactly what I was looking for. C's property is a short distance off Skyline Drive. It is set back in the woods only feet from The National Park boundary line. Enjoyed a nice campfire and a cold one while listening to nature. Saw turkey, deer and squirrels in my short time there. Thanks for sharing your property C. I would stay again if ever in the area.

Very secluded area, would recommend a 4wd vehicle as there are dirt roads to get here. Host was communicative and helped with securing extra firewood as it hit 20 drgrees.would recommend if you want to just disconnect.

Awesome campsite, definitely recommended. Right at the National Park boarder line under some nice old trees , you are camping on a flat ridge road around the bend from the only house on the street but definitely in the wilderness. Host was awesome. Will be back again!

Very nice place. Seen my first owl in the wild here! One down side is the chairs provided were broken and covered in spider webs. Luckily I brought my own. Other than that I would recommend.

Overall host was nice! The spot itself was very far back in on a gravel road. Nothing against that, but damn those are some hills! Our car could hardly make it up some of them. This isn’t an issue with the host more so just an advisory I would suggest 4x4 for this spot. The only real complaint was we like isolated camping. It is past the neighbors house like stated but it’s really about 50feet from a house and I felt like I was camping in someone’s back yard. There was a street light I could see through the night and it just didn’t feel very camp worthy. The site is on a slant and it leaves very little room for tent camping.
I’m not saying don’t go here like I said the host was very considerate I just wanted something a little more primitive and off grid away from people and life. Thank you for hosting us!

Went tent camping on this little spot. It was pretty fantastic. Isolated in the mountains. Great views. Very tranquil.
Two minor recommendations:
Bring you own wood - there’s deadfall but you can’t be too sure it’s all useful.
It’s on a minor slope. It would be nice to have flattened out, just a touch.
