As wonderful as described
We absolutely loved staying here! Everything is just as Leah described it. The spot is up a grassy hill with trees on two sides and an amazing view of the mountains over the pasture. The pasture was full of corn but the views are still there and it actually added to the privacy. The house is a short distance away but not seen so the space still feels very private. The closest neighbor must be at least a mile away, unless you count the two young black bears that passed through. They popped out of the woods one evening between the house and the grassy hill but were easily scared off when we informed them that this was a private residence (okay, maybe we yelled at them). As described, the spot is mostly flat, definitely enough for a campervan, small RV, or trailer. The walk down to the creek is somewhat steep but not bad at all and totally worth it. Our dogs loved the creek and having all of that space to sniff. Directions to the site were very easy to follow and GPS put us right at their driveway. Damascus, VA is less than 10 min away, as are the AT, the VA Creeper Trail, and the Iron Mtn Trail, and there are miles of scenic back roads all around. The hosts were easy to communicate with and accomodating. They offered to show us around the first evening but we arrived after dark, tired, and just wanted to take it easy. The hosts completely understood. Though, now I regret not stopping by to say hello because they were so nice. Guess we'll just have to go back for another stay!
