Great site; barking dogs at night
The camp site is in a beautiful open field surrounded by trees which provide shade when needed. Comes with a fire pit, swinging bench, picnic table, portable outhouse with luggable loo portable toilet, and 5 gallons on water. Hosts were responsive and had everything set up and ready.
Unfortunately, we would not choose to stay here again due to the number of dogs that barked continuously overnight leading little to no sleep. The site is on a working farm in which the owners have dogs to protect the livestock. If there happen to be coyotes when you stay, the dogs will bark which was very loud at the campsite.
We asked to owners if they could restrict the dogs barking and were told they would try their best but we should understand it is a working farm. Our expectations of a working farm are cow, rooster, etc. noises at various times especially into the morning - which we expected going into the camping trip. We do not feel it is reasonable for campers to expect multiple dogs barking all night to be part of a working farm and this has not been the case when we have camped at other farms. If this is the owners expectations, we recommend the farm not host campers as a reasonable expectation of a camper is to have enough quiet at night to fall asleep. We have no reason to expect silence but the dogs barked the entire night.
Though this only occurred the first night we were there, given the risk that this would occur again we wanted to ensure people knew this is a possibility.
