Graves Mountain. No cell service.
Arrived after dark. The signage was not clear but quickly found a spot (open field) and set up camp. Didn’t download directions to Old Rag but found it quickly with directions from the lodge. Dinner buffet style at the lodge was fantastic. Overall a great camping adventure!!!

They had an apple festival going on during our stay which was very fun. They clearly have a good community. We hiked Old Rag and this camp was a nice short drive away! The restaurant was okay but the nearby store sold pretty delicious sandwiches. Great place!

This is one of the coolest campground I’ve ever visited in virginia. First time boondocking too. Great to see all kinds of horses on the campground and the bathrooms are well kept. The hot water showers are a ++. Will definitely come back!

Great little campground, its FCFS so you can camp anywhere that isn’t roped off. Only drawback to this place is you could hear the highway (albeit not that loud) from where I camped. However with that being said I still had a great time.

I had THE BEST time at Graves Mountain Farm. It was easy to find a spot to camp. There is a Lodge near the campground where they have food and a gift shop, There was a live Appalachian Mountain folk band playing when I showed up. It was ideal. I highly recommend it!

Overall good experience camping here. Nice views and close to Shenandoah.
Other campers however were extremely loud. Riding around and blasting music until 2 am right next to our tent. We ended up moving sites after our first night and found a nice quiet spot next to the stream and could actually enjoy our peace. I feel like there should be some enforcement with people who have no respect for others.

It’s a great place to camp. Lots of open space to find a spot. Definitely had more space to myself than most campgrounds. There are some rocks around the tree line that are good for making a fire pit (suggested by host). The porta potties were clean. 👍

We had a great time. I loved being able to pick our camp site. It was nice to have the lodge close by. It was close to some of the trails in Shenandoah. (Not trail head but the back side of them)

This was a great spot to camp! Wide open space with amazing mountainous scenery. Easy to navigate and lots of onsite assistance if needed. Would camp here again in the future!

The drive to the site is beautiful and the site itself is so scenic and peaceful. Perfect get away! We ended up doing the trail ride and we will be back soon!

Cool farm but camping is not even the slightest private. I knew we’d have neighbors, but I thought there were at least some trees for individual privacy, like little nook’s around the area. I know it’s a field but I just never imagined that level of people right in front of your face. RVs were blaring generators all night to the point that I couldn’t take it. I felt like it took the fun out of camping for us. We did go on a holiday weekend and I know some people don’t mind such a public area but again, it was just not for me personally. We wound up packing up and heading elsewhere for the weekend. If any kind of privacy is not a concern for you, I’m sure it’s a lovely property to stay on with lots of activities at your fingertips.

We loved it here! We were worried about feeling crammed or overcrowded or getting a bad spot but we had so much room to make our own. The views were gorgeous and it was quiet! I also appreciated how there were toilets almost every hundreds of feet haha.

The staff and facilities were wonderful. The restrooms were clean, and there was plenty of space. The number of campsites with a confederate flag flying was uncomfortable.

This was a great spot. We came for Memorial Day Weekend and we were able to find a good spot with distance in between us and other campers. We had a nice little stream at our spot and a little rock fire pit set up. When we first arrived we saw little fire pits set up all over for campers as well as porta potties throughout. The people working the entrance gave us directions for hiking trails nearby and we had a blast exploring the trails. The star gazing at this spot was also great due to it being such a big field. Will definitely come back to this campsite.

The views were amazing!! Everyone was kind and it was clean, simple camping. Be prepared to have zero service though. I lost my phone and finding it was a nightmare. 10 out of 10 recommend this resort and me and my family are already planning our next trip there!!

Disappointing Experience

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this campground was a major letdown. While there were a few portable toilets on-site, the actual bathrooms with running water and showers were a complete joke. They were located *outside* the campground, tucked away behind an old, vacant warehouse-like building — totally isolated and without any clear signage. There were only **three bathrooms/showers** for over 100 guests, and they were in poor condition.
The on-site farm market, which we hoped would be a nice perk, was **closed by 7 PM** — and this was on a *Friday*. Not helpful if you arrive late or need anything in the evening. On top of all this, there was **no cell service**, and the **nearest gas station or store was a 30-minute drive away**.
I drove 6 hours to get there, and after seeing the conditions, turned around and drove another 6 hours back home. If you have **kids** or expect **basic standards of cleanliness and convenience**, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Open space, No one bothered us. Overall quiet! Dogs were off leash but stayed close with owners. Very easy sign in. The market next to the campground had everything we needed and then some.

We loved car camping here! Great spot to spend the night before hiking old rag
Came in and found a spot between two trees which was perfect for us to hang our hammocks on. We set up a nice area around the car and were able to drive over and bring some rocks back from the creek and some fire wood to set up a fire
Having access to bathrooms and potable water was such a blessing. Lots of other campers around. The property was beautiful and being surrounded my mountains and horses was very joyful

Simple, no-frills camping! It’s essentially a big field so there’s no assigned campsites. Some people went up to the lodge (across the street) to check in, but you can just stop by the bulletin board by the campground entrance. There were people in tents, vans, campers and bigger trailers with horses. Outhouses and showers were adequate. General store had good sandwiches and was super convenient when we needed something in a pinch. Other campers were friendly and respectful. Awesome views of the surrounding mountains and killer sunsets. Close to a few great national park trailheads and lots of vineyards. Great spot overall!
