Site 6 - Tent Camp at Vegan Animal Sanctuary

Our stay at this Hipcamp was truly special. The location is wonderfully remote, far from the noise and distractions of everyday life, and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Watching the sunrise each morning was magical, with colors spilling across the open landscape that made the early wake-up completely worth it. We loved how peaceful it was, with only the sound of cows moving in the distance adding to the rustic charm. One of our favorite surprises was being greeted by the sweetest dogs who seemed to have made it their job to welcome us. They visited us throughout our stay, making the experience feel even more homey and heartwarming. The area nearby was full of hidden gems, and we spent time exploring several antique shops that we absolutely loved. Our host was wonderful and gave us excellent recommendations for places to visit and things to do. Their kindness and hospitality made us feel completely at ease. If you are looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature, with a touch of small-town charm and genuine warmth, this is the perfect spot. We are already looking forward to coming back soon!

Hollie & Davey's ranch was perfect for me. Beautiful property, and you're camping in nature, not a busy KOA park. Secluded and very peaceful. Easy to go get supplies in Giddings. This was a motocamping trip for me and there are great motorcycle roads all over the area. I will definitely be back.

I love camping here, it is very peaceful, everything is clean and organized. Hollie and Davey are very nice and always checking on you. Favorite part their Director of guest services (their lovely dog Shasta) is beautiful and very friendly. I will keep coming here, totally worth it for a getaway camping.

Peaceful Stay at RV Site 1

We really enjoyed staying on Hollie and Davey’s land. We were at RV Site 1. It was level, had plenty of room and had water and electric hookups. We were greeted by Shasta, a very friendly dog who also accompanied us on walks around the property. We liked the peace and quiet. We were near a road but rarely heard any traffic. They have other more remote sites but they didn’t have electricity. We were fine where we stayed. It was very a very relaxing place. I recommend it and would stay there again.

Camping on Dave and Sarah’s land was a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility for my family. Davey and Hollie's ranch was a delightful experience for my friends and I. Not only was their hospitality above and beyond what I expected, the land, the animals, the other campers, and even their facilities made this two-night trip easy and stress free; EXACTLY what I needed. We were all impressed and mentioned casually to each other how much we would like to come back, and when we do, we'll certainly be excited to see Shasta and Bruce as well 😉 Thanks so very much, Hollie and Davey!

StarLove is a magical place that is well cared for- a beautiful piece of native land. The dogs are so kind, they add another layer of friendliness. The hosts are very welcoming. Even helped us pitch our tent before the sun set. There’s lots to see around the land, flora and fauna. Plenty of shade too

RV Site #1

It was great tent camping on Hollie & Davey’s land! We booked an RV spot, but they let us know beforehand that we could use a tent spot for the sake of privacy as the other RV would be occupied. That turned out to be wonderful, as we were able to get good sleep away from the lights and sounds of the RV people. The tent spot was on a plot of open land backed up to the trees, and ours had a very nice little covered area within the trees where we were able to hang up a hammock in the shade. Very comfortable and quiet, and I loved the cows!

Second time as lovely as my first

I loved my time at Hollie and Davey’s Hipcamp. They are gracious and generous hosts. The land is beautiful and I really appreciate that the spots feel private and tucked away. They have a Trail around the property that makes for a nice afternoon walk. We really enjoyed our time there this weekend.

My wife and I haven't camped in years. We decided to get back into it with a stay at Hollie and Davey's camp. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Site 4 was private, with a fire ring, and an easy walk to the onsite toilet. We were welcomed by a fluffy, white dog who checked in with us from time to time to make sure we we were enjoying our stay. Highly recommend. We will be back.

A very nice place to camp and enjoy the peace and quiet of the outdoors. Nice walks and some beautiful animals to keep you company along the way. I can’t say enough about Hollie and Davey… great people that want you to enjoy your time with them and are willing to help out however they can. I would also highly recommend meeting the pups, cats, goats, pigs, and cows. I live in the big city and really needed some quiet downtime to relax and reconnect and I definitely found it here.

We had the best time on this little getaway. We were looking for a place where we could take our dog off leash, and this spot was perfect. Not only are the hosts so accommodating, but there truly is so much to explore. Cannot recommend this place enough!

My boys and I had a great time. Hollie and Davey are welcoming and included us in their fall festivities. My boys got to feed cows, pigs and goats. The camping spot was well taken care of was tucked away far in the trees providing seclusion and quiet. Would highly recommend camping here.

Would absolutely recommend! Unfortunately I was passing through for a single night during a thunderstorm. But Davey went out of his way to keep me apprised of local weather/driving conditions and made sure I had a safe place on the property to stay overnight. I slept in my SUV camper due to the conditions and felt safe all night and woke up in a beautiful secluded clearing. I wish I could have stayed longer to explore the property - it is a special and beautiful place

What a sweet spot! This location was easy to get to and felt nice and secluded. Hiking around their property in the rain reminded us of Heckfield Manner, out in the old English countryside. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We were in site 4 which was tucked in and nice and private. The sunset was lovely and the pigs and farm dogs were so friendly. I brought my dog and he had the time of his life adventuring with Shasta (the farm dog that will check in on you frequently).

Super Dope

Hollie was a spectacular host. Their ranch is beautiful and they are kind and genuine people. We got to meet their animals (shout out to Norman) which was a cool experience for the kids. Campsites were clean, well-maintained, and comfortable for our group. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Warmth, Wonder, and Delight

I brought my daughter and her friend (ages 9 & 10) for our first camping trip together. We were welcomed so warmly by the host family, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them and their animals before setting up camp. We felt very safe while enjoying the rustic rural setting. The sounds of cows, coyotes, owls, and roads were a lovely chorus for our dreams. And the short distance from our Austin home makes this a very easy getaway for us!

Loved staying here! Hollie and Davey are so welcoming and we loved talking with them. They showed us around, and the camp site was perfect. Nice quiet area, stayed in #4 that had a provided fire pit. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful, Private, Fun Animals

We had such a great time during our stay at Hollie & Davey’s property. They were so welcoming and helpful, even offering us firewood and access to their 10ft stock tank mini pool (which was a nice reprieve from the midday heat!). The property was beautiful, private, and truly made us feel we were immersed in nature. Plenty of options on campsites that can provide whatever level of privacy/scenery you wish. The cows and pigs were so fun to see, and our dog loved playing with their friendly dogs. We had a nice hike during the day to explore, watched a beautiful sunset over the property, and finished the night star gazing next to a warm fire. Such a lovely experience, would definitely recommend!

Paradise is very nice

What an amazing kind-hearted family. it is a very peaceful ranch. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. You can unwind and do some yoga, hike, think, or just rest. I recommend bringing some wine to enjoy the sunset. It was a great pleasure getting to know the family. They have amazing kids. They are extremely passionate about making this world a better place.

An idyllic escape from Austin

We stayed here for a short trip to escape the busyness of Austin and enjoy some solitude in nature, and we got exactly that! Hollie and Davey are fantastic hosts, friendly and approachable. After a day of hiking at Lake Somerville we set up in site 5, which is nicely tucked away in the corner. We could see the fire of site 4 but we didn’t hear any other campers the whole time we were there. We enjoyed mingling with the cows and the beauty of the land at sunset. Overnight we heard a few coyote serenades and could hear roosters and cows in the morning, all welcome noises! The hosts dogs are incredibly sweet, we had a few visits by them in the evening and one even lead me between the site and the portapotty when I went in the middle of the night, running ahead of me and waiting for me to catch up along the way. Would definitely return!
