With four privately owned lakes, guests can swim, paddleboard, or kayak (bring your own equipment) in serene waters surrounded by rolling hills. Explore over 30 miles of scenic hiking and riding trails, open seasonally, winding through rugged landscapes and showcasing the beauty of the region. Perfect for adventurers and relaxation seekers alike, our ranch provides a rare opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself in the vast, untouched wilderness of the Texas Hill Country. Our ranch is a sanctuary where the rugged landscape meets the endless expanse of the Texas sky. With rolling hills, winding trails, and crystal-clear creeks, it's a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. When visiting, guests can enjoy hiking or riding along our scenic trails, take a refreshing dip in our secluded swimming holes, or marvel at the diverse wildlife that calls our ranch home. Upon arrival, we will share a map of the ranch that will show all hiking and riding trails. Catch-and-release fishing is allowed for an additional cost and can be added to your stay when booking. Campsite #1 is nestled behind one of our beautiful privately owned lakes. The area is very flat and surrounded by beautiful Hill Country views. While 4x4 is not required to access this site, you will have to cross over a small dam that isn't as maintained as our main road. Trucks or cross-overs will have no problem accessing. Sedans or vehicles that are low to the ground may have some difficulty accessing. As a reminder, there are no bathrooms, amenities, or a place to fill up with water so guests will need to plan accordingly. PLEASE NOTE: For a portion of the year we run a hunting operation and have strict rules on when we allow hiking and overlanding. Campsite #2 is nestled behind a collection of oak trees, offering privacy and shade. The area is very flat and is surrounded by rolling Hill Country hills. While 4x4 is not required to access this site, the road to the campsite is roughly 500 yards off our main road and is a little rocky. Trucks or cross-overs will have no problem accessing. Sedans or vehicles that are low to the ground may have some difficulty. As a reminder, there are no bathrooms, amenities, or a place to fill up with water so guests will need to plan accordingly. Our ranch is a sanctuary where the rugged landscape meets the endless expanse of the Texas sky. With rolling hills, winding trails, and crystal-clear creeks, it's a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. When visiting, guests can enjoy hiking or riding along our scenic trails, take a refreshing dip in our secluded swimming holes, or marvel at the diverse wildlife that calls our ranch home. Upon arrival, we will share a map of the ranch that will show all hiking and riding trails. Catch-and-release fishing is allowed for an additional cost and can be added to your stay when booking. This back-in site features (2) 50-amp electrical hookup, as well as water and sewage connections, offering the convenience you need for a comfortable stay. The space is pretty flat, requiring little to no self-leveling. This RV hookup is located down roughly 8 mies of maintained caliche road, and while 4x4 is not required, the roads can get a little muddy after a big rain. Our RV hookup is located next door to two of our guest cabins. To ensure a quiet and relaxing environment for all, generators are not permitted. If you’re traveling with a larger group or need extra space, both cabins are available for rent. Each cabin offers comfortable accommodations and can be booked alongside your RV site—simply inquire for details! This place is great. Loved that it is so remote. Our site was nice. The flowing stream is a really nice feature as well. Walking distance to a couple of great fishing spots. Caught my best bass on the fly to date, probably 4 lbs. There was not much natural shade, so glad we had our own canopy so we could enjoy the great view.

The rv spot was perfect. If you want to get away from the city and relax this is the place to stay. The night sky was amazing. Wish we could have stayed a little longer.

***THIS CAMPSITE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY*** I tent camped at Site #1 with solar panels and a generator—absolutely perfect setup. I drive a Chrysler 300 and had no trouble getting in; just slowed down in a few spots and crossed a couple of small creeks. (It’s early August and the area has had heavy rain, so it’ll likely be even smoother when you go.) I had the entire lake and surrounding area to myself. Total peace. Total seclusion. The hiking is incredible, with a hidden gem along the trail that’s worth every step. I only stayed one day, and I regret not booking a full week. The host’s directions are crystal clear—if you can follow instructions, you’ll have no issues. I have three kids under five, and this place is a dream for families. Out of the 20+ places I’ve camped this summer, this is one is hands down my favorite. It’s obvious the owners genuinely care about preserving and protecting their land—you’ll see exactly what I mean the moment you arrive. Book it. Don’t think twice.

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The location is beautiful, with great views right by the lake. During our visit, the lake was overflowing into a small stream that connected to another lake down the hill—such a peaceful background sound throughout our stay. It did rain quite a bit while we were there, so the area got a little mucky, but that didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed it. We also took the trail up to the nearby plane crash site, which was a unique experience. Definitely recommend having a 4x4 vehicle for that one—there’s a steep 22-degree incline before you reach it, and if the trail is wet, it becomes even more challenging. Still, very cool to see the remnants of the plane. The only thing we would have loved more is a clearer path or access point to the lake. It was pretty overgrown, and with the rain, we didn’t get the chance to explore it up close. Hopefully next time!

We stayed at Camp site 2 it was off the gravel road on a little grass trail to a nice open area. it was very private and super dark to see tons of stars. We went Overlading on 3 trails. Without giving away too much the 1st purple trail was fun and calm until it got to a very steep decline that not many rigs can handle! Many vehicles can go to that point tho then hike it! Second trail was very calm but super narrow with brush/trees around! The 3rd trail without giving away too much is definitely for more experienced overlanders or hikers who can climb some harsh steps! Also on the 3rd trail I recommend walking it, driving it, then walking it again just to make sure u don’t bite off more than you can handle. You have some areas u can bust a U-turn if it’s too much but they are far apart so make sure you can handle the trail to the next clearing! It was a fun camping experience with pretty ponds and wild life.

Great ranch and I look forward booking a different site. The rain made it a little sloppy at secluded#2 and the 4Wheel drive came in handy. Great sunset and seclusion, which is what I was looking for. The only caution is the exact camp site has a lot of big red ants so I had to go down further.

I loved camping here it was so secluded and private the closest campers were about a 1/2 mile away plus we had some Cow visitors!! I really loved camping here although some things to note We lost 2 tires on an F-150 truck in our 2 day stay here so I would definitely be careful with what vehicle you bring Lastly the lakes were not quite what I expected but that wasn’t a problem because there are multiple access points to the Nueces river close by !

This Hill Country camping at its best! This site is beautiful and very private! We had a great time paddleboarding on the river! We saw lots of wildlife and fell asleep to the sound of the water under the stars! The directions to the site are a bit complex but the instructions sent by our host were very clear and accurate. The site was clean and eat to use with a stone fire pit. The nearby town of Camp Wood had a good restaurant called Canyon BBQ and grill. And further along in Leakey we found a few cute Antique shops and a coffee shop.

Beautiful property! The host was wonderful and very responsive to messages. The campsite was nice and secluded. We had privacy for most of the time we were in camp. The 4 wheel drive trails were exactly what we were looking for. Perfect for someone new to off-roading. Just technical enough, but nothing extreme. We would definitely go back! Highly recommend!

What a beautiful ranch and ponds! We enjoyed exploring the property on our side by side. The views were breathtaking and our campsite (site #3) was beautiful with a pond to catch some bass and a large shade tree. We can't wait to come back!

FULL RV Hook Up on 6,000 Acre Ranch
We used their full RV hookup and it all worked well. In my opinion it is a beautiful ranch. It has pretty views of large hills in every direction. There are several tanks (small lakes) that all had water in them. I think they are all on the same creek that must be spring fed. I met a few of the ranch family members. They were all friendly, helpful and likeable. The main roads to get into the ranch and on the ranch were good and in good shape. We enjoyed feeding Tye the pig. The two cabins are nice. For the most part we had the ranch to ourselves to explore. It was a nice place to relax.

It was very quiet and secluded. I really enjoyed being out there. The ranch is nestled in a long valley that is part of some of the prettiest land I’ve seen in Texas. I’d recommend this as a trip for anyone looking for an off the grid and peaceful spot to camp.

We had a great time camping here. The directions were great and found our site with no issues. We were able to do a couple of trails with our Tacomas and looking forward to coming back and riding more trails. Views were great especially the mountain top views. It was cool to see the cows roaming around. It felt like we were the only ones in the ranch. There’s not a lot of places to camp and ride 4x4 trails in Texas and we’re glad to find one in the Hill Country. Ashley was super friendly and answered all my questions. We can’t wait to go back.

Dispersed Camping on a Texas Ranch

We were looking for some camping/off roading in Texas and came upon HPWilliams Ranch. Texas is remarkably almost entirely privately owned and that’s a problem for off road enthusiasts used to state or federally owned land that can be used for recreation. The HPW Ranch is a great resource to check off the boxes. It’s big, 6000 acres big, has natural springs that feed lakes with fish, great camping with great views and yes we put the Jeep through its paces while exploring the vast property. We enjoyed our experience camping with the surrounding wildlife and the star flooded skies. So glad to know that we don’t need to travel out of state to get our dispersed camping fix. Ashley and the other folks at the HPW Ranch will definitely see us again.

Great place with lots of trails to explore. If you have 4x4 ask about the hill top location. We pulled our small off road trailer up the mountain and stayed for 2 nights. Best camping I've ever experienced in the Hill Country.

Beautiful and peaceful. It was nice to get away from the city and be surrounded by such beauty. Took my 7 year old to teach him some camping basics and fishing too. Would definitely be back again to explore more!
