My two guests and I had a great time camping at Jim's. Keep in mind, there's not much to it, as the listing clearly states. I would only recommended it for experienced campers, not first timers or those dependent on modern comforts. Bring a tent, your own water, your own means of sustaining a campfire, and everything else you'd require for dispersed camping. This site doesn't have most modern comforts, but that's part of the beauty. You'll be within one hour's drive of practically any point within Big Bend National Park, and you can have a campfire, whereas the entire park is under a fire ban. That alone is worth it. Jim himself is a great guy. He showed us where to set up, and he stayed out of the way the entire rest of our three-night stay. I wish Jim the best, and i recommend his spot highly to experienced campers looking for an authentic experience. Take time to visit Terlingua. Sign the petition to Stop The Wall. Visit the Poco Más café (it's the best I've found in the USA). And use this site as your launch pad for an incredible visit to BBNP before the US Federal Government arbitrarily and capriciously destroys the park's natural beauty and unique chstacteristics with a ridiculous, unnecessary, disruptive, and cruel border wall, that will cut through the most beautiful landscapes in all of Texas where there is already practically zero risk of unauthorized border crossings.
