A truly incredible weekend getaway
Where do I even start!?
From the moment we arrived at the farm, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness and hospitality. David and Marla were eager to help with anything we could possibly need during our stay and made sure to check in daily in case there was anything we forgot to pack or had questions about.
Despite staying on their property (both their home and livelihood) we also felt a sense of total privacy. The campsite was clean, beautiful, and quiet. We were staying quite near where they do work in the early morning and yet we were never bothered by any artificial noise whatsoever. Walking distance from our little “home away from home” was a gorgeous fishing lake where my dog could swim to his heart’s content and we could sit and watch the sunset, and around the lake were multiple trails through their farmland and the surrounding forest.
To make things even better, they are also part of a farm co-op! You can order online from a myriad of different local farms and eat beautiful produce, dairy, meat, poultry, and baked goods from humane and ethical farms in the area. You may even drive by some of them on your way to the farm as we did! There is something truly magical about knowing where your food comes from and feeling a sense of peace when you eat it.
From beginning to end, this was a trip of total perfection. We are so grateful for the memories we made at WindStone Landing and cannot wait to come back.
