Fantastic place to camp. Susan is the best host. Really takes care of the land, maintains the campsites, and makes sure you have everything you need. This site in particular was tucked back in the woods just enough to feel secluded, but you still had an awesome view out over the open field / hill.

We had such a wonderful stay! The site was peaceful, well-maintained, and the views were A+! Susan was a fantastic host and even checked in during our stay to make sure we had everything needed. We couldn’t have asked for a better host or experience. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing, welcoming getaway!

This was my first Hipcamp experience. Susan made it an extremely easy experience. Her property was amazing. Great views, peaceful and private. Bathrooms were extremely clean. She had everything ready for us. I highly recommend her sites and we will be back for sure.

Our group had a great time at Fairie Tale Farms - Moondance Retreat and would highly recommend! Susan was very welcoming, showing us to our campsite and checking on us during our stay. We enjoyed walking around the property checking out the lake and watching the horses. During our stay we did a casual hike at Ricketts Glen State park and checked out a community fair.

Susan's land was beautiful, remote, yet a short drive from great hikes at Ricketts Glen State Park. Most of the camp sites are far enough away from other campers and was a true primitive experience. Susan was incredibly helpful with anything we needed or had questions about.

Heavens Peak
Susan has been an excellent host. She checks in on us and makes sure our needs are met. Heaven's Peak has been a great place for my group to camp at. It is more than enough space for our group of 12 people. Would highly recommend for anyone who value space and seclusion. Susan already had firewood, water, two picnic tables, and a port-o-potty set up at our campsite before arrival. Definitely recommend.

Moondance Retreat
Beautiful property with rolling hills and farmland to take in. Nice little campsite tucked away in the back and close to the restroom. Susan was flexible with our arrival time and very kind. We had everything we needed easy to access and taken care of, only thing we ran out of is time!! Book a long stay so you can enjoy it all! 15 mins from Ricketts Glen, but plenty to enjoy camping too!

The site is very private and beautiful. When Susan says dark is dark she isn't kidding. Lol the stars were beautiful through the opening at the top of the trees. Sadly, the leaves this fall are not colorful. Just dull yellow and brown and falling off. Such a lovely retreat as always.

Susan’s site was perfect! Susan greeted us and was a very responsive host. The site is secluded with beautiful forest and meadows surrounding the camp. Port a potty was very close and clean. The 5 gallon jug of water and the wood provided was a great touch! Close to great hiking at Rickett’s Glen state park.

The site was wonderful, and Susan was a fantastic host. She kept me well stocked with drinkable water and fire wood!!!
Only downside, is that the description wasn’t clear that this particular site (by the water) is super close to the road. Not really a big deal, but annoying when louder cars went by during quieter times. I may not choose the same site there, but it is definitely on my list to return to!!

Moondance Retreat
Susan’s farm was a beautiful setting for our camping trip! Highly recommend. The family, including 2 boys, 5 & 7 and our chocolate lab enjoyed the secluded spacious campsite, beautiful views of the valley and stars at night while having the horses visit as our site was close the the fence line of the pasture. It was everything we needed…peace and quiet, fire pits and wood, water and a clean port a potty.

An amazing camp site. Secluded, private, quiet and large. Has all the basic amenities and camp necessities: fire pit, grilling grates, picnic table, firewood, etc. The host was responsive, friendly and flexible. Nice place for stargazing. We would love to come back.

We loved our stay! The site was beautiful and we loved the friendly horses that visited daily. Susan was a tremendous host- we had plenty of potable water and fire wood and a port a potty nearby. Perfect spot to enjoy the area and Ricketts Glen. We can’t wait to return!

Hidden Hollow
Susan's land is a true gem. Our site (Hidden Hallow) was super secluded, which is exactly what we wanted. Its super shady so depending on the season, the site above it might be better but it was perfect for summer. The drive to the site might be a little difficult for a low car. The land overall is beautiful, incredible views, and Susan was friendly and super responsive. Close to Ricketts Glen, Lake Jean, and Benton.

We had a fantastic stay near the two ponds! The campsite was peaceful, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The fishing was excellent, definitely a highlight of the trip. Our host was welcoming and helpful, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy nature and unwind! If you love horses, this is the perfect place e for you!

Being STILL with morning devotions in the beauty of God's creation and blessed owner Susan, here @ Fairie Tale Farm, Shickshinny, PA. Pond site was just what I needed for my 1st Hip Camping!! Beauty all around with horses, morning song from variety of birds, fish feeding at the pond. Even in the much-needed rain the sound on my tent made for a peaceful sleep. You can't get all of this even at a SPA. And what cuteness the Outhouse near the pond site. Susan is so caring to be sure you are fine and would love to share with YOU. Hiking paths are wide to go in groups too! Up top sites if you want to be away from it all, but I will surely return to the Pond. Thank you, Susan- Happy Trails!

This spot is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. BOOK IT. Susan was so great, she helped us with everything from firewood to places to hike. There's a little pond that you can fish, swim, and kayak, horses to say hi to, and all the campsites felt very secluded and like you're in the forest. Truly awesome spot.

Susan’s land is absolutely beautiful and shows the true beauty of PA’s rolling hills! Directions were clear and Susan lead us right to our site upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed, which we did! Picnic tables, a jug of water, a fire ring, firewood, and a very clean port-a-potty! Only a short 15 minute drive to Ricketts Glen SP!

We absolutely loved camping at Fairie Tale Farm! Hidden Hollow was perfect for us and our pup! We appreciated the privacy and the property itself is so beautiful! It was so close to Ricketts which was great! We hope to camp there again soon and have already recommended it to a few people. HIGHLY suggest camping here.

Susan was a great host - she met us when we arrived, escorted us to our site, and made sure we had everything we needed. She even checked in to make sure we got home safely after we departed during a series of strong thunderstorms.
The site was very peaceful and private, and in close proximity to Ricketts Glen State Park. Would definitely recommend!

A Fairie Tale farm indeed! The campground/farm has it all, if you know what ”real” camping is. As a busy family from the city, we value rest, quietness and most of all privacy when we go camping, and Susan’s land delivered! The best nights’ sleep, ever! It was lovely to be surrounded by nature, wake up from the birds singing and not by noisy neighbors ( although we did have neighbors but they were polite and respectful ). Susan is super nice and hardworking, she made sure we are settled and got everything we needed, she did all the same with the other campers.
Ricketts Glen State Park is about a few minutes drive. We did the “Falls Trail” trail, ( because we are a family who hikes ) and oh boy, we have hiked difficult trails, but this one, please do not underestimate, you will need proper footwear! The trail we picked was a “moderate” one, but we find the way back is hard because it was very slippery where the “falls” are, and there’s so many of them!
Seeing the horses in the afternoon was such a delight, because our site was just right in front of it! We can’t wait to go back, maybe next camping we will pick shelterwood! Thanks again Susan!❤️
