We had a great stay at Camp Dietrich! It was so helpful to have the option of borrowing items like pans, dishes and the all-important coffee mugs. The setting is gorgeous and sites feel peaceful and private. Would stay again :-)

The Best Hidden Gem of The Poconos

We just stayed for two nights and we are already planning to book in for next summer for a longer stay. Two days is not long enough at all to utilize this stunning hidden gem of a campground. There is nothing I can add that hasn’t already been said in the 200 plus glowing five star reviews. Just know that every single review is telling the truth and don’t walk but run to book in here. We can’t thank you enough Scott and Christine for the most memorable camping trip!! Ps. If your avid fishermen the trout were hitting like crazy!!

what a beautiful place ! both scott & christina met us at the entrance, helped drive our bags down, and showed us everything we could possibly need to know. everything you could need was either supplied at the site or at the shed at the entrance:) the waterfalls and hiking trails were some of the best i've seen, and the service & care was also better than i could've imagined !! you could never run out of things to do there - we will definitely be returning:))

Great times at Camp Dietrich

My family couldn’t have asked for a more perfect trip. Scott and Christine are the absolute best, day one welcoming us and treating us like we were old friends. The site itself needs no selling. Feet away from running rapids to the huge spacious site. Every inch is amazing, you don’t need to bring a thing they have literally have all the supplies (except food) you could possibly need. The tent already onsite was amazing feature with queen bunk beds and tons of room. Our 3 year old had a blast exploring the different paths, doing all sorts of adventurous things like crossing the rope bridge and finding the cave, swimming up to the waterfall (in swimmers) and catching all the salamander’s, but most important getting away from technology and being in nature. My wife couldn’t believe the details. Truly beautiful! The picnic tables, storage boxes for food, the tent, and all the accompaniments. We will be booking our next trip as soon as possible. Can not recommend Camp Dietrich enough.

Perfect camping weekend, made easy!

This was a great campsite - probably our favorite in a long list so far. Our site was secluded and featuring easy hikes to local waterfalls with sitting areas and peaceful floating pools. Our site was creekside, super peaceful, and had everything onsite we needed to enjoy our time. We could have brought maybe half of what we normally bring to camp, as the site is that well outfitted. Wood is included and you can buy more if you go through what is there (we did), and there is a shed with a ton of things you might need to borrow (we grabbed a skillet). The hosts are super nice and accommodating, even offering to cart our supplied down to the site from the parking area and back. They genuinely care about the experience their campers have, and it's clear from start to finish. We will be back, next time with friends! Note: I recommend a 4wd or at least an all-wheel drive vehicle, as the drive leading up to the sites is stone. Also, be sure to listen to the advice in the app and follow google maps (not waze) directions to get to the site.

This campsite is the most magical place. It’s as if they took everyone’s childhood nature dream and made it come true. We went with my three children (10, 8 and 16 months) and our dog and not once did my kids complain about being bored or the lack of screen time. Our favorite part was the swimming hole by the waterfalls. The pictures don’t do it justice…it’s truly a place out of a fairytale. We will definitely be back!

This place is an absolute gem. When they tell you you really just need to pack food and your clothes, they’re not lying. My friends and I are kinda gear heads and over packers, we didn’t need 1/2 the stuff we packed. The property itself has so many beautiful hiking trails, so you don’t even need to leave if you don’t want but Jim Thorpe is only about 15/20 minutes away so our group stopped there for lunch on the way home. We wished we stayed one more day. I will say- make sure you pack boots or some other sturdy shoes as it is very rocky. Our group is planning our next trip soon, we can’t wait to come back!

The site we stayed at was absolutely beautiful and private. It had everything we wanted and needed. The kids had an amazing time playing in the woods and in the creek. Definitely bring sneakers or hiking boots for camp and water shoes for the creek. Make it a point to hike the yellow trail!

Had a great stay at Camp Dietrich. They "make camping easy" by providing so much gear that you can borrow. Each site is private - didn't hear neighbors at all, which is a rarity at most campgrounds. The swimming hole is lovely and each site is next to a creek. There are short trails on the property and tons of longer trails nearby, along with the convenience of restaurants and the town of Jim Thorpe a short drive away.

Amazing trip for me and my family! The property is absolutely gorgeous and campsite is something out of a movie it’s so pretty. Your site and the shed has everything you could need except for food and towels which make packing super easy! We loved the swimming area with waterfall and the creek had huge rocks all throughout and we “rock hopped” up and down several different spots. Truly so beautiful to explore and a great unexpected find!

We had a great time at Camp Dietrich! Beautiful grounds with lots of hiking trails accessible right from your camp site. Scott met us when we arrived and gave us an orientation to the site. Everything was in good condition. We loved lying in the hammock with the sound of the river and sitting by the fire at night. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

Our second stay here, and once again, it did not disappoint ! We fell in love with this beautiful place the first time we visited, and coming back was just as special. Such a special place!

What an absolutely magical place! The pictures honestly don’t even capture how special it feels once you’re there. You’re completely surrounded by the woods, with beautiful streams, moss-covered rocks and waterfalls running right through the property. It feels like you’ve discovered your own little hidden world. Our family had such a great time exploring the trails, crossing the suspension bridges, swimming, floating in the natural swimming holes and just enjoying the scenery. There was something new to discover around every corner, and the kids absolutely loved the adventure of it all. The waterfall and swimming area were definitely a highlight. Being able to wake up, spend the day outside exploring and then cool off in the water surrounded by the forest was pretty incredible. Even just sitting and listening to the creek was relaxing. If you love camping, nature and places that are a little different from your typical campground, this is a gem. It felt peaceful, adventurous and genuinely special all at the same time. We made some wonderful family memories here and would absolutely come back. ❤️🌲💦

Camping here was absolutely amazing. Falling to sleep with the water bubbling away next to us, exploring with the kids, and swimming in the numerous swimming holes, all of it made one of the best camping experiences our family has had. My family and I had a wonderful time staying on Scott's property. The forest is dense and the creek is very clean. We had a fun time fishing. The tents were high quality and we stayed dry during heavy rain. It's quite hilly so bring your hiking shoes in addition to your water shoes for the creek.

Private Retreat in the Poconos

Scott and Christina are excellent hosts! Camp Dietrich is a dream! We had such a great stay. We will definitely be back and plan to stay longer! We borrowed dishes, utensils, a camp stove, and skewers from the Check Point Shed. Otherwise, we brought items or they were provided at the site. We only saw 1 family on the main road and occasionally saw Scott and Christina. Very private and relaxing camping experience for people of all ages.

Core Memory Maker

Camp Dietrich is the perfect little getaway! The owners have truly thought of everything, from Check Point Shed to the way the sites were carefully curated to provide a truly memorable experience. Our kids were ready to visit the waterfalls as soon as we were settled in. The hike was fun and very scenic. Bring trekking poles or a walking stick if you're not comfortable with a little rough terrain. After the hike and taking a swim by the waterfalls, we went up to the playground that is where you will find the zipline. You have two options for cooking available to you: either the propane grill or over the fire pit with the grill grate. We opted for the grill, but enjoyed the obligatory s'mores after making dinner. It did get pretty chilly at night and early in the morning despite being the middle of summer, so keep that in mind and pack accordingly. Overall, you can't go wrong staying here; it's close to the historic downtown of Jim Thorpe, and there are plenty of activities to do if you decide to explore outside of Bear Creek. We're looking forward to returning soon. Thank you, Scott and Christina!

We had an awesome trip at Camp Dietrich, Bear Creek Falls Gataway! Scott was wonderful and met us for check-in, showed us to our campsite and gave us the rundown of the property. Our kids had a blast exploring the creek and trails! The tent and bunk bed set up was perfect and comfortable! Camp Dietrich Has it all and makes it so easy for a family fun camping trip! We are looking forward to our next trip!

We felt like fairies in the Forrest! Blessed to be able to stay! Needs were met around the clock. They even tried so save our stuff when we were out and a storm passed.It’s a bit steep but don’t let it intimidate you, Scott knows how to handle everything! Some brochures were in the shed and we went on a rafting trip. So much right there and all around. Book it!! and for as long as you can!

This was our fourth visit as a family of four—our two boys, now 11 and 7, plus our one-year-old Aussie Shepherd mix—and we already can't wait to come back next year! There truly is nothing else like it. The private, fully equipped campsites, the miles of hiking trails, the meandering creek with swimming holes, and the beautiful private waterfalls make it the perfect escape into nature. Our boys absolutely love exploring here, and now our dog does too! Scott and Christina couldn't be kinder or more accommodating. They go above and beyond to make every stay special. We can't say enough good things about this incredible, one-of-a-kind place. We highly recommend it and are already looking forward to our next visit!

We spent the weekend at The Retreat at Bear Creek site and had a fantastic time! The area was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. I loved sitting in the hammock reading my book and listening to the sound of the creek. My kids had the time of their lives clambering through the creek and we all loved floating under the waterfalls, even though the water was freezing! A few minutes of cold was worth it for such a fun experience! The trails around the site were well marked and accessible, and I particularly liked the laminated map made available. Scott was very helpful, friendly, and informative. The site felt really private, which was a nice change from other campsites we’ve gone too. We will certainly be back and I would absolutely recommend this site to others!
