Muriel Lake Beach Field Forest
Paul is an absolute legend, with an easy relaxed and welcoming vibe, he is a great Hipcamp host. The space he shares with campers is stunning: from the brightly lit stars overhead, different types of terrain to explore and a beautiful lake for swimming and boating (he lends some out to campers) it’s the perfect get away from busy city life. I camped very comfortably with my small kid and then had more family come join us there! Thank you so much for the good humour and hospitality Paul, twas such a delight, hope to book in again next year! :)

Muriel Lake Beach Field Forest
We had such a great time camping on Paul’s property. The land was beautiful, the water warm, and Paul was so welcoming. We all enjoyed the paddle boards, and a few of us kayaked to and from the island. We swam, we hiked, we tanned, we paddled, we had fires, and we set off fireworks.

Beautiful, quiet spot. I camped out of my jeep. Paul was gracious and accommodating. I had a wonderful evening/night and would recommend this/these campsite(s).

I would definitely highly recommend staying here at Muriel Lake. Paul is an amazing host, so friendly & thoughtful. And the scenery is stunning.

Quiet place with lots to do on the lake: swimming, canoeing and etc. We stayed in the tent by the lake and the morning was so beautiful! Paul is a great host!

Paul’s little slice of paradise was the perfect spot for a camp on our journey across the country. A dock, sandy beach and loons calling across the lake made for a wonderful stay!

Quiet, overnight stop passing through the area. Parked out front of a large pine tree on a level surface. Had a view of the lake and surrounding fields. Also, walked down the back yard to the lake.

Awesome! Quiet! Remote! At first you think, Paul clean up the place, but then you realize this is a third generation site. Paul’s grandfather could have piled that fencing there. The homestead is a three generation scrap book. Of our 12 day camping trip this was the best site. Paul is a kind and generous Spirit.

We were the first persons this year. We had such an amazing time.
The lake had still some ice on it but we could use the kajak, pedelboat, sub, ... We spend the whole afternoon just chilling there. Exactly what we needed. In the night you could hear the wolfs so that was pretty cool too. The host was very friendly and offered us some water.

We had an amazing experience at Paul’s place! The property is gorgeous and peaceful, with easy access to the lake. We were driving through Ontario for a big move and had brought all our pets with us. Paul was so kind and welcoming, and truly went above and beyond to accommodate us and our animals. We would love to come back here for a longer stay in the future. Thanks so much, Paul!

I returned to this spot and it was as amazing as the first time. Great location, host, amenities. There was firewood and clean outdoor toilet ready on my arrival. If you’re in that area, it’s a must try.

Amazing spot, Paul is really friendly and was willing to help with everything. The spot was so nice, there were deer wandering around all the time and the lake is lovely. There’s a small beach and peer to hang out. Would recommend 100%!

Paul was kind enough to switch our tent site to a cottage site at the last moment due to severe weather warnings, very kind indeed! We loved the hot tub, star gazing, gorgeous sunset viewing on the dock and the peace and quiet.

I never met Paul because he was at work when we showed up, but he seemed pleasant when we messaged. He also provided a refund when I cancelled my stay after seeing the place. I canceled for reasons that are consistent with Jane’s review here. The site was basically just a field on his front lawn, the house was very unkempt with junk everywhere, and the “potable water” is apparently from his kitchen. When he is not there, there is no access to potable water. Smaller things include a broken Adirondack chair and very sketchy steps down to the beach. As I said, I left when I saw the place.
All that said, there was access to a nice lake and paddle boards/kayaks.

Pros: the toilet was clean and there was access to paddle boards.
Cons: we didn’t have access to drinking water until the next morning, there was no picnic table, no wifi, it was basically a mowed lawn (although there was a bit of privacy behind some trees), the lake was too weedy to swim in. And I would warn single women that it is a single middle aged man renting the site and his house is very unkept on the outside (garbage around), and no there campers, and the neighbours are not close either, which made me feel unsafe (I was travelling with my teen son). I wouldn’t recommend this location to single women. This was my first time using Hipcamp and I won’t use it again unless I’m travelling in a group. We stayed one night, as planned.

We stayed on the edge of a field with many deer grazing. It was so peaceful. The trail to the beach was groomed nicely and with a short walk our toes were in the sand!

Paul our host was very helpful with choosing the perfect spot for my family to pitch a tent. He showed us around and even allowed us to use the kayaks and paddle boat. Our 4 dogs loved the property. It was a fun little trip and definitely will be back again. Highly recommend

We had a great experience camping here! We camped at the edge of the bush in the big meadow just steps away from the lake. Paul made sure we had everything we needed and even started the fire for us. There's kayaks and a paddle boat available here as well. Be sure to check this out!

Paul is a very friendly, helpful and all around wonderful person who made us feel right at home as soon as we got up the driveway! The property is beautiful and right on the lake. We were able to jump into the lake, relax on the dock, enjoy the hot tub, watch the deer graze in the field and finish the night off with a campfire and some stargazing! All in all, Paul was an awesome host and we had a great getaway! 🙂

The host was super welcoming. We got to use a kayak and stand up paddle board to check out the lake. He included firewood and we had a nice grassed spot to set up our tent. I would recommend this place to a friend.
