Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
This property consists of 5 acres on Ballard Creek, just south of Watts, Oklahoma. The property contains a mature mixed forest, open land, and a cool running creek providing habitat for fish and wildlife and a pleasant quiet, and relaxing setting for campers. Sitting right off the highway and over a set of railroad tracks, you will hear a little road noise and the occasional train... but you can still sit back, relax, and enjoy nature.

Thorn Side
I loved camping at Ballard Creek. The water is AMAZING! Privacy was excellent. I would suggest possibly mowing out more of the area. I would not recommend this location for small children due to the rough terrain and the thorns. But it was a great location for us and our dogs enjoyed the water for sure. We will be back with an all adult group. The train is close and very loud but I live by tracks so it wasn't really an issue for us. Of course being out in nature there were alot of tics so be on look out for those. All in all it was a great place and I do plan on revisiting. Phil is a great host got back to me quickly with answers to my questions.

Lovely Stay!
Thorn Side was just lovely! We were able to get our Taxa travel trailer and Jeep down near the water close enough to hear the rapids. Only drawback is some road noise and trains…but for us, those are not deal breakers. Will definitely keep this site on our radar for the future! :)

Beautiful property
It's a beautiful property right up against a stream with a fire pit. However, a train runs by every two-three hours, which is disruptive.
