Looking for a couple acres all to yourself? Then overnight your self-contained RV at our retired Christmas tree farm. An active "choose-n-cut" tree farm until 2019, we're letting most of our farm grow wild with some deciduous trees also. There are walking trails throughout the "woods" and around our 3/4 acre fishing pond (catch n release please). Relax on the bench on the old country store porch or by the fire ring, fish, or stretch your legs and walk the dog. A pleasant, private, isolated spot in the country to overnight or spend a couple days. If you're a small family staying just one night, there is no "extra guest" fee for dependent children. Includes a 30 amp service hookup. Gravel parking lot angles slightly up hill. No tents, no swimming please. 2 nights max per stay. No bathrooms on site! Parking area is directly on a lightly used road for super easy access. Please stay on the gravel parking lot in front of the store, but do not block the pickup truck on the west side of the building. Total rig length limit: 45'

Less than 30 amps. We have a 30* amp RV connection available on the NE corner of the store porch. We also have a 15 amp "standard plug" outlet behind the barrel on the store porch. Take your pick! * the 30 amp plug will NOT not pull a true 30 amps and may not run high-amp A/C or all of your accessories at one time

No water hookup, but there is a spigot to fill jugs on the west side of the house about 300' away. Please contact us before use.

You'll have this Hipcamp all to yourself.

Campfires allowed

Firepit. Fire ring is provided by the picnic table by the pond. No fires allowed anywhere else please. Firewood is available for $4 per bundle. Self-serve and pay from the cabin porch.

Pets allowed

On leash. Generally a leash is required, however, if your dog is friendly and always stays close to you when unleashed, then a leash is optional.

No toilet; campers must bring camp toilets

Potable water available

Spigot. Water is on the west side of the house - about 300' from the parking area. NO RV ACCESS! Jug fills only! Please contact us before use.

Bins available

Trash bin. Please do NOT leave any trash outside the bin (critters WILL get into it). If the bin is full, then do not use.

Picnic table present

Picnic table is near the pond, about 100' away from the RV parking area. This is where the fire ring is located. Use with caution.

Wifi available

Not always available. Generally weak or dead from the parking area, but stronger closer to the house. Our smart phones work OK from the picnic/fire ring area. Password is kc8vriwifi

Quiet Overnight at the Outpost

This RV site was exactly what we were looking for. Super easy to find and located in a peaceful, quiet spot. The fire pit was great and we loved hanging out by the pond and listening to the birds (and farmers in the background). Allen was nice - checked in on us to make sure everything was good, but also gave us our space to enjoy his place. The listing is truthful with its "picnic table present . . . use with caution". We were glad to have a tablecloth and seat covers for the picnic table but it was sturdier than expected. We had a great time and will be back to the Outpost again, I'm sure.

Great quiet, cozy place - Elec only

My wife and I stayed at the outpost this weekend. It was an easy drive up state routes and county roads. We arrived at the location and immediately knew how to park. We used the two lane, untraveled road in front of the outpost to easily back our 25 foot RV into place. There was room to spare with the RV and my 19 ft F150 still hooked up. You could get a 45footer on the gravel lot. It was very quiet. We enjoyed our stayed and even did a little fishing. We caught 2 MASSIVE bluegills and a few small bass right from our chairs. There is a 30 amp service, but no water or sewer ( we dumped at Camper's Inn in TippCity/Troy, Ohio). We would definitely visit again. We met the owner - He was very cordial and you can tell he loves his property! A++

Allen’s beautiful land was nestled between fields on all sides. He was very welcoming and let me know what to expect during my stay, i.e. paths, fire ring, parking, etc. It was very tranquil and quiet with little traffic on this country road in Ohio’s quintessential farmland.

A breath of fresh air !

I truly enjoyed my second stay at the Outpost. It's a great place to relax in farm country. You can set up on the old store front porch, or hang out in the grassy wooded area on either side. The parking is flat and perfect for RV'S. Around back I did some fishing in the pond and had a camp fire. The night sky is was great for star gazing. I timed my trip to view a passing comet and it did not disappoint. Allen keeps the place in tip top shape. He had just finished cleaning up when I arrived and had some wood ready to go in the fire pit.

This was perfect for our last minute needing to stop for the night. We managed with enough electricity to plug a fan in instead of trying to get the air conditioner to run and risk blowing a fuse or whatever. IDK what kind of grass mix they use but omgosh it was the softest, cushiest grass I've ever walked on! The pond out back is really nice, that's where the fire ring is and they've got wood available right there for $4. It was too warm for us to bother but it's so nice they have it all ready for ya. It is in the heart of farm country & folks should understand there is an unmistakable pungent aroma that comes with that, especially when it's 80°at 8am, lol, iykyk.

Surrounded by field of dreams 🌅

If you find yourself in this area, it was a great way to spend a few nights. Great privacy and beautiful sunsets over the cornfield across the road. The covered porch is nice to have access to especially if a storm rolls by and you have a small camper like we do. Lastly, If you’re looking for a local spot near by, check out “Sam’s Place” for food and beverages.

Allen’s Hipcamp site provided me a great stopping point for my journey down Hwy 70. A rural and tranquil place on a flat gravel drive with power provided all my converted van needed. A picnic table and fire pit on a scenic pond was a few steps away. Allen greeted me and answered any questions. Enjoyed my stay and would return when passing thru again.

Nice place to stay

My stay here was quite and relaxing. Very remote location with little traffic. I put up my hammock in the shady wooded area, then dropped a line in the pond and caught a couple is bass. I really appreciated the diversity of trees and open sky for star watching. In back of the old "Outpost" building was a nice area by the pond for a fire. I would recommend the Outpost and would like stay again when working in the area.

Quiet countryside

Private getaway

A great place to relax in the countryside to getaway from noise and hustle/bustle of the city. We enjoyed relaxing by the pond. The property is secluded and beautiful. The gravel parking is level and did not require extra work with levelers. Allen was kind and inviting but also allowed us privacy to enjoy is lovely place. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed two nights and had a geeat time. Walked the paths, checked out the pond and loved the red bike in the tree. Beautiful place across from a field. Wind whistling thru all the trees. Very peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

A site with a bit of history.

This is our second trip to the country outpost RV site. Allen is a wonderful host. He even saved our dog bowl that we left the last time we camped there. The site is easy to get to and easy to back in and set up. The road is not that busy so it is pretty quiet. There are a multitude of trails to walk on and explore. This is a retired Christmas Tree farm so the outpost and the little out buildings that were used when they were selling Christmas trees; along with the vintage signage gives you a little bit of history of the site as well. This is on our list of favorites and sites to revisit over and over. Thank you Allen!

Beautiful

Beautifully kept area. Many plants to see, even some yellow iris. Nice pond with plenty of bluegill. Easy to follow short trail around property. Able to get one bar of cell signal on 4g and on the guest wifi. Plently of parking for rv on nice, clean gravel. Quiet area. Road is close so keep pets even closer but it is lightly traveled. Our 3 dogs loved their stay!

The fire by the pond in the evening was great. Loved the morning doves that sang through the evening. The bike in the tree was unique. Quite a spot next to the old store. Allen met us when we arrived which was great to chat.
