This place is true to the spirit of Hipcamp. An adventure. I don’t know about yall, but when I’m looking for hipcamps I’m looking for a cooky experience in the wilderness *on a budget*. And so many places I find are gorgeous cottages, which I love, but I’m not really on Hipcamp to spend $150+/night, you know what I mean? This place was a refreshing change of pace that reminded me what I’m actually looking for. And it’s not like I was roughing it, I had a lovely night sleeping in a hammock in a cozy loft that reminded me of many happy adventures. What I will say, just as full disclosure, is that you won’t want to stay here if you are scared of bugs. I’m not scared of bugs, but I have had a run in with bed bugs along my travels, which has led to me always checking my bed for bugs. This place does not have bed bugs, but there are bugs living under the mattress. You can tell they are a type of biting bug because biting bugs leave teeny tiny blood stains on mattresses. Given my past experience with bed bugs, I don’t really mess around with bugs that bite in my sleep, which is why I opted for the hammock. It was delightful, comfy, and fun, and I would happily come back! I hope my bug story doesn’t scare you off, because it’s a very cool space with great energy, but I want you to know what you’re getting into, in case you’d prefer one of those fancy $150+/night Hipcamp cottages. Different strokes for different folks, I hope everyone finds the flavor of adventure they’re looking for!
