The Outpost is a fun-filled camping, RV, and river rafting adventure resort featuring a popular restaurant and bar, located along the beautiful Delaware River in Pond Eddy, NY. Spanning 70 stunning acres, The Outpost offers one mile of riverfront camping and rafting, two miles of hiking trails, birdwatching, and a 5-star restaurant. Both riverfront and brookside lodging options are available, including campsites, RV sites, and luxe cabins. Our stunning waterfront cabins are perched on the banks of the Delaware, just 90 minutes from Manhattan. Each features a cozy porch, hot tub, smokeless fire pit, central AC, full bathroom, deluxe bed, kitchenette, and living room with a premium pull-out leather couch. Enjoy beach access at your doorstep, with rafting, canoeing, and an award-winning restaurant on-site, complete with indoor and outdoor bars. You’ll also find two miles of hiking trails, volleyball courts, and horseshoes—all with breathtaking river views from every window. The Outpost Resort is located 16 miles north of Port Jervis along scenic Route 97 on the Delaware River in Pond Eddy, NY. Just under two hours from NYC, the drive is especially popular with motorcycle and car clubs, passing through the famous Hawks Nest overlook. The area comes alive in spring, summer, and fall with tourists, nature lovers, leaf-peepers, campers, and rafters from across the country and around the globe. In the winter months, visitors head to nearby Catskills ski resorts and small-town retreats. Nearby, guests can explore the culture of towns such as Port Jervis, Barryville, Eldred, and Monticello—or catch a live concert at the world-renowned Bethel Woods venue, home of the original 1969 Woodstock festival.

Easy access to a great river front RV camp site. Check-in with host was smooth. Property was clean and well kept. Quiet and peaceful days and evenings. No issues. Definitely a place to return next season.

The folks at the Outpost were super helpful and friendly. The called ahead to see when we would be checking in and if we needed firewood delivered to our site. Once we arrived they asked if we would rather be on the river instead of in the woods and, since we had no idea of the layout of the place, we said yes. The river camping is the way to go at this place! Great views, lovely sound of the water, and close to everything. It's also very nice that the Outpost just happens to have its own restaurant, which was convenient. We had a great stay and definitely put it on our list of places to come back to.

Prime Riverfront Tent Site
The Outpost Outdoor Resort is a true gem for anyone who loves the outdoors. The location is absolutely stunning — most of the tent sites are right on the water, offering peaceful views and the perfect backdrop for fishing or just relaxing by the shore. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and keeps the campground in great shape, making the entire stay feel comfortable and inviting. If you love fishing, this is definitely the place to be. The water access is incredible, and the atmosphere is calm and refreshing — exactly what you want when you’re trying to escape and unwind. I’ll definitely be back, just hoping they reconsider that guest policy in the future.

The Outpost Campground was absolutely amazing! The entire area was spotless and well-kept, making it a perfect getaway spot. Our campsite was right on the river’s edge, offering beautiful views and the calming sound of the water. It felt peaceful, relaxing, and connected to nature. The staff was friendly, and everything about the place showed care and attention to detail. I can’t wait to go back — highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, scenic, and enjoyable camping experience!

This Delaware River front RV campsite is not for everyone. Stay away if you want lots of planned activities and golf cards whizzing by all the time! Stay away if you hate rafting down an amazing river! Stay away if you love hearing loud music from 5 campsites away! Stay away if beautiful river-front scenery is too boring for you. Stay away if campfires by the river during a star filled night is just too mundane. Stay away if you hate it when campsite staff make every effort to ensure your stay is great. Yeah, this place sucks, stay away! But seriously, what's not to love!
