Welcome to Yurt-Phoria! This off-grid, 30’ Yurt is ready for your Catskill Mountain get-a-away. The yurt features: Vaulted ceilings, organic mattresses, and very private, forest setting on 5 acres. Enjoy a primitive yet updated adventure like you've never had before. Hear the rain, snow, wind, birds, and owls all from within the comfort of your home. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience yurt life, off-grid living and a working organic farm with friendly chickens and gardens. When you book this yurt you will finally be able to unplug from electricity and Wi-Fi, relax and enjoy your more creative side. Musical instruments supplied(piano, drums, guitar, ukulele, etc.), as well as reading material, games, art and writing supplies. Relax and enjoy the yurts spacious 750sq feet. Don't let the fun be contained to just inside the yurt, take a walk or snowshoe (2 pairs provided) along the wooded path, sit outside and drink your morning tea or coffee(provided) on the deck, patio, or picnic table. Take a night walk. Interact with the friendly chickens and the yurt farm cat. The nights can be enjoyed next to the huge fire pit out back, relaxing by the wood stove, or gazing at the stars on any clear night. The propane heated shower system is an outdoor shower in the summer and indoors in the winter. Kids and kids at heart can enjoy the 10' enclosed trampoline right off the deck, forest sky swing right off the dirt path and 3 person hammock nestled in the woods. At the end of the day, climb into bed on organic cotton mattresses. A Berkey filtration system supplies your drinking water. An off-grid sink for light washing and cleaning. And a well with a hand pump for unlimited refilling, washing and cleaning, cooling down, or to use just for fun. Winter rentals: There are two heating systems in the yurt. A propane heater to keep the chill off and a wood stove to get it toasty warm. Two pairs of snow shoes are provided. The path is drivable in winter but not in snow, so expect a 2 min walk from the car to the yurt if snow is on the ground. Summer rentals: Firepit with s'mores essentials provided, 12 foot trampoline, 3 person hammock, outdoor seating, forest sky swing, flower and vegetable gardens, outdoor lawn games. Many upgrades are Coming new 2022, Air-conditioning and mini refrigerator. **New addition to the property** You will be sharing the properties 4 acres with a Skoolie rental. It is quite far from the yurt and will not intrude on your privacy! There is a dirt path back to the yurt. Most guests love the off road drive to our private parking area in the woods, including myself. There is plenty of off street parking. If you do not feel comfortable driving the dirt path back to the yurt, we have a cart for moving luggage and expect a 2-3 minute walk to get to the yurt. Booking YURT-PHORIA will begin an experience you need in your life. Get ready to connect, unplug and breathe deep when you immerse yourself into this Catskill Mountains get-a-way. Our beautiful 5 acre plot has been called Heaven by more than a few. The Yurt sits nestled into a cleared meadow in the forest. As you arrive you are met with a large outdoor deck, covered with a sun shade, surrounded with vibrant flower gardens. To the right a barbecue/dining area with grill and picnic table just waiting for a cold beverage and tasty dish to be enjoyed at. Straight ahead a lawn area large enough to play or lay.... or lay after too much play! The outdoor shower and Giant firepit are in the back! As you walk inside you will first be "amazed at the size of this thing". The 15 ft vaulted ceilings with 4 ft dome at the peak gives an impressive feel. The space is large. Plenty of room to relax and unwind/ prepare and eat meals/ and again play or lay. There is a plethora of musical instruments supplied, as well as reading material, record player with large record collection, games, toys, art and writing supplies. Relax and enjoy the yurts spacious 750 feet of freedom and the feeling of living outside the box. We pride ourselves in saying "mostly off-grid". We try to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum, with that being said, we also wanted to supply our guests with a few comforts and easements to afford more comfortable and easier stays. There is a medium sized refrigerator with freezer box top that will fit plenty of food for your stay. There are several box fans to keep cool. A ceiling fan with light. For charging devices, there is an outlet with 2 USB outlets. What we don't have is air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, or a TV. This will be a mostly off grid experience. Glamp, Unplug, Connect to nature, others and yourself. We would like our guests to enjoy the entire property. Enjoy sunrise as you sit outside and drink your morning tea or coffee on the deck, patio, or picnic table. Take a walk, our roads are beautiful. Take a night walk. The nights can be enjoyed next to the huge fire pit out back, relaxing by the wood stove, or gazing at the stars on any clear night. Filtered drinking water is supplied. There is an off-grid sink for light washing and cleaning. Cooking can be done on the outside BBQ or the stovetop burner. The propane heated shower system is outdoors in the summer and indoors in the winter. Kids and kids at heart can enjoy the 10' enclosed trampoline and 2 hammocks nestled in the woods. Winter rentals: There are two heating systems in the yurt. A propane heater to keep the chill off and a wood stove to get it toasty warm. Two pairs of snowshoes are provided. The shower is indoor in the winter. The path is drivable in winter but not in snow, so expect a minute walk from the car to the yurt if snow is on the ground. Summer rentals: Firepit with s'mores essentials provided, 10-foot trampoline with netted enclosure, 2 person hammock, outdoor seating, forest sky swing, flower gardens. **New addition to the property** Our Skoolie rental. You will be sharing the properties 4 acres with a Skoolie rental. It is quite far from the yurt and will not intrude on your privacy! There is a dirt path back to the yurt. Most guests love the off road drive to our private parking area in the woods, including myself. There is plenty of off street parking. If you do not feel comfortable driving the dirt path back to the yurt, you can expect a 1 minute walk to get to the yurt. The path is not driveable once snow is on the ground. We will fill the shower water, sink water, and drinking water before your visit. There is a battery powered, flush toilet system inside the yurt and an outside composting toilet. We will fully clean and prepare fresh for each new guest. The refrigerator is 7.4 cubic feet, it is considered a college size, but should be plenty big for your stay. It has a seperate freezer. Since there is limited electricity, we are supplying battery powered Lights and Bluetooth/radio speaker. Extra batteries are provided. Fire wood is stocked before each guests arrives. The glass-front wood stove is perfect on a cool, crisp night. It often becomes our entertainment center as well. There is also a propane heating source for winter use only. For sleeping you will have a bunk bed, a twin bed with privacy pop around it and a King sized memory foam mattress. There is Plenty of room for air mattresses in the yurt or tents around the property. Linens, pillows, blankets and towels are all provided for you. As well as paper towels, toilet paper, coffee, hot cocoa and tea.

Come stay at The Catskill Skoolie, a memorable converted bus experience. Skoolies are becoming a new craze in the tiny home community. This skoolie started out as a school bus from North Carolina. After its conversion it traveled all over the United States and ended up here in the great northern Catskills of NY. She is now taking some time off from traveling so you can experience what life would be like living in a converted school bus. You just might fall in love with the skoolie life style. Come experience skoolie life in this awesome converted Bluebird school bus. The bus has been upgraded to give a wonderful and comfortable glamping experience. The kitchen boasts plenty of counter space to prepare food, many custom-built cabinets for amble storage, a mini refrigerator with seperate freezer, double stove top burner, microwave, toaster and coffee maker(coffee, coffee filters and sugar are supplied). There is a large dining table with comfy seating for 4. Winter rentals: There are two heating systems in the skoolie. An electric heater to keep the chill off and a wood stove to get it toasty warm. Two pairs of snowshoes are provided. The slack line and fire pit are both usable in the winter too. Summer rentals: Firepit with s'mores essentials provided, 2 person hammock, outdoor seating, flower gardens. Summer rentals can find comfort knowing there is air conditioning for those hot days/nights. The skoolie can easily fit 4 people who each get a twin size bed arranged in bunk bed fashion with pillow top mattress pads and fresh linens. The bathroom has hot running water for showering, hand washing and dishwashing (there is no sink in the kitchen area). The bathroom has an indoor toilet and there is also a composting outhouse. Some parts of the skoolie just couldn't be changed, the bus was left with the original cockpit. You enter through the original folding school bus door and can take a seat at the drivers seat, now converted into a desk for writing, drawing or gazing out the huge front window. To keep this vacation a way of connecting with nature and each other and give it the camping/glamping experience, there is no television or Wifi. Instead the bus is stocked with games, books, cooking supplies, and musical instruments. Enjoy some tunes on the retro vinyl player with bluetooth capabilities and our large record collection. We strongly encourage everyone to take this time away to unplug and disconnect in our forest, country setting. This space is great for enjoying your morning coffee with the birds, eating lunch on the comfy outdoor furniture, unwinding with a relaxing meditation session, or star gazing with a glass of wine. Don’t let the fun be contained to just the skoolie, as the land has much to offer as well. Enjoy a camp fire nestled among the flower garden. There are 4 acres of woods to explore, a slack line for testing your strength and balance, an awning with outdoor furniture, and a 2 person hammock for afternoon snoozes. You will be sharing the properties 4 acres with a Yurt rental. It is quite far from the skoolie and will not intrude on your privacy! Larger groups can book both yurt and skoolie and have full rein of the property.

Absolutely loved our stay at the yurt. Even with the rain and getting our truck stuck (thanks Darren for helping us out) in the mud the yurt is one of my fav places I’ve stayed at. Loved just relaxing, hearing the rain on the yurt, while listening to the doors. Occasionally jumping on the trampoline. Nothing compares to the yurt.

Catskill Skoolie. Luxury Glamping

The skoolie is cool-ie! Went for a solo winter retreat and it was lovely! The hosts were very responsive to a few issues that arouse, and thoughtful on the forefront about amenities and "extras" like a record player and games. Firewood was chopped and full enough for a cold long-weekend, and a fire was even going to make sure I had a warm arrival. I mostly stayed inside, but the land looked fun to explore and the hammock, trampoline and outdoor things make a great place to be in warmer weather also. Great experience! Thanks, Darren!

Perfect site for a nature retreat with friends! Darren and Jen were immensely helpful and responsive to our many questions, very gracious hosts. Taking care of the chickens was a highlight, they are well-behaved and so cute! For our party of 8 we ended up bringing an air mattress for which there was plenty of space. Clean and well-stocked, and we loved all the musical instruments provided. Tops grocery is only a five minute drive so an easy place to pick up any last minute supplies. Nice land for taking a forest walk, and the hammocks were cozy. Didn't get a chance to use the firepit due to nighttime rain unfortunately but did get to use the grill. Truly yurt-phoria!

I absolutely LOVED our glamping stay at Jen and Darren’s yurt. The four of us and one pup enjoyed our first fire of the season in the wood burning stove which had no problem warming up the space. We cooked several meals on the simple electric burner inside as well as on the grill outside. Everything is very well thought out and beds were comfortable. The photos don’t do the space justice. I absolutely recommend this sweet spot 10/10.

We had such an amazing time reconnecting as a family with some much needed quality time away from life demands and distractions! The yurt and experience was way better than we hoped, and are already making plans to return, as we're already experiencing "yurt withdrawal". Darren is a wonderful host! We had a wonderful time (family of 5) at the yurt site - hanging with the chickens, jumping on the trampoline, grilling out front, relaxing on the hammocks, making s’mores at the fire pit, and kicking it back with some vinyls and cards at night. Jen and Darren were great hosts, and very responsive. The only downside was the sound of construction on the new neighbor’s land…and that was out of our hosts’ control.

Magic yurt life

There is a lot of love in this place. The hosts have gone above and beyond to create a warm, welcoming, creative and homey space, and all their directions were helpful and clear. It was 20 below zero the weekend we stayed here, but the crackle of both the wood stove fire and the record player kept us cozy. We made a campfire and watched the clouds move across a full moon while we searched the constellations for a comet from hammocks strung nearby. We cooked, played drums and piano, and completely unplugged. It was magical.
