The Farmhand Cabin was just what I was looking for...a quiet warm, welcoming place, peaceful and relaxing. The cabin has all you need for a quiet get-away. Sitting on the porch drinking my morning coffee taking the view, watching the horses in their field, was the perfect start to my day. I loved wandering around the farm, visiting the animals, particularly the horses and goats. It was different experience each time, depending on time of day. Just hanging around the gate watching the horses. goats and chickens was delightful. I was fascinated by the livestock guardian dogs. They take their job seriously. Going through the horse field gate with Denise and meeting the horses and all the goats - and the guardian dog (who proceeded to sniff and allowed me to stay, while keeping a watchful eye out) - was an experience I'll never forget. I fell in love with Kevin, a retired NYC Central Park Carriage horse. Petting the horses, expecially Kevin's velvet nose was really a highlight for me. Farm noises - animal and tractors - day and night, just faded into background noise. Evenings were spent by the brook and campfire, soothing and beautiful.
I have traveled a lot - camping and sightseeing - this Farmhand Cabin long weekend ranks at the top of all vacations. I enjoyed every minute and look forward to returning next year! Thank you, Denise!!

Cozy little cabin next to a little creek with many amenities provided! Had a lovely time walking around the property and seeing the animals on the farm. Would definitely recommend for a small get away. Unfortunately we didnt plan the trip further ahead of time to sign up for the farm programs they offer but I'm sure it would be a great experience as the host was very kind and welcoming.

The Farm Stay in Farmhand Cabin was absolutley amazing. Denise (Host) made sure we were well accomadated and made sure we were comfortable. The cabin itself was stunning and well constructed. We slept 3 comfortably and minus the humidity it was a great time and I would recommend to friends and family. Next trip I would try the suite as the phone service is very limited which I didn't mind but if you have teeneagers or people that need there phone service I would consider the suite. The suite where there is wifi is a very short distance away so you can always walk up and use it there. There is a wonderful fire pit along a stream and its always refreshing waking up to the sounds of nature. In addition, for next trip I will check out the farmers market that is local and purchase some of the fresh meat and food that Denise makes. My kids and I really enjoyed the time at the Farm Stay in Farmhand Cabin and will revisit.

We had a great stay in Denis’s hut. It had everything we needed and was really homely, in a lovely spot overlooking the creek. We especially loved the outdoor camp fire for cooking and my 4 year old loved playing in the creek. The grazing platter we ordered on arrival was huge and delicious and we did a fantastic tour with Tom of the farm too. All highly recommended!

Farm Stay in Farmhand Cabin
The farm was absolutely beautiful and the hosts were very kind and accommodating! The cabin had just about everything you could possibly need for the trip. The animals were friendly and sweet. We honestly couldn't have booked a better trip. There's even a state park not too far away from the farm where we visited a waterfall and went kayaking. The experience absolutely loves up to the host's description and I definitely recommend this stay to anyone and everyone looking for a wonderful trip. Thank you!

Denise’s cottage is a wonderful retreat from typical life. It was so peaceful and beautiful sunsets. We had a wonderful weekend of biking and hiking. Thank you Denise

WOW!! My expectations of the place was nothing compared to the actual reality. Denise was an awesome host. Everything was available and a few surprises was found on the property. My wife and I felt at peace there the entire time. Clean as well as surprisingly spacious cabin. All amenities was available. Definitely recommend this spot.. we will go again.

Farm Stay in Farmhand Cabin
What a wonderful stay we had! Tom and Denise were amazing! They graciously took time out of their very busy days to welcome us onto their property, to provide us with tons of local knowledge, and to give us a hands on tour of the farm. The kids absolutely loved being introduced to all the animals and learning all about life on the farm. It was such a joy for all of us to wake up to and to experience the surprise visits from all the horses, goats, sheep, dogs and cats. The cabin felt like total luxury to us (we had been camping in the backcountry for several days prior) with electricity, the mini fridge, toaster oven, etc., but the sink and the outdoor shower with hot water was beyond luxury. If you have the pleasure of staying on this property (which I highly recommend!) definitely request the charcuterie board! You won’t regret it!

We have spent 2 nights at the cabin and it was an amazing time. Denise is an wonderful host; she has fulfilled all of our requests rapidly during our stay. When we are, the small refrigerator door was broken and she replaced it the very same day she promised. Hot water shower was luxury 😌. Our two little daughters had plenty of fun time with the friendly horses, cats, chickens and goats. I personally enjoyed stargazing at night with thousands of fireflies.

Like animals? This is the place to be completely immersed in a beautiful farm.
Tom and Denisse have a beautiful cabin, in a private area inside their farm. The cabin is fully equipped, so just bring yourself and food to enjoy!
The creek is lovely as well as the interaction with the animals. We got in love with cats, horses, dogs, and the place. We'll come back next summer! :)

Idyllic cabin along stream bed on gorgeous farm. The cabin is adorable and has everything you need to enjoy your time. The drawers are stocked with dishes, towels, books, glasses and the porch of the cabin has a plethora of items we found very useful and fun to use like the hot dog roasting sticks, the fishing pole, the mini grill not to mention a large box filled with matches, charcoal, lighter fluid, and more. I could have saved myself a lot of packing because everything I needed and more was already provided. There was also a great outdoor sink with sponge, dish soap, hand soap and spring water for us to use.
The cabin has 2 comfortable twin beds which my husband and I were both happy with. The small porch has a bench which we relaxed on often. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire pit, cooking our meals, and watching the amazing sunsets over the hill off in the distance. The stargazing is also incredible. We laid out every night.
Our composting toilet and outdoor shower were gorgeous and such a pleasure to have when camping.
There are 2 very friendly horses that visit a few times each day. My kids loved feeding them treats and brushing them. Walking down the driveway we visited the goats, chickens, and farm dogs often. The dogs were great with my kids.
Denise, our host, was very kind and helpful. Our farm tour was interesting and informative and my kids really enjoyed it. The especially enjoyed holding the baby ducks, and taking home fresh eggs and milk from a local dairy.
The was the most beautiful, peaceful place my family and I have ever camped and I hope we can come back again.

This trip was planned as a surprise birthday gift for my husband, and to say it was the perfect getaway would be an understatement.
The cabin is rustic and simple, but has everything you could need. The outhouse was clean and tidy, and the solar shower was a new and honestly fun experience. You can shower at night and look up at the stars!
A little stream runs in front of the cabin and offers soothing background noise while cooking over the open flames of a campfire.
We even brought a hammock and hung it between two perfectly placed trees leaning out over the water. I haven’t been so relaxed in ages.
Walking about the grounds there is so much beauty to see, animals to watch, horses to stroke, and my favorite part- the farm dogs! All very friendly and cute.
The cabin is a distance from the every day happenings of the farm, but close enough that should you need anything help is near by. The owners are so very friendly and accommodating. Upon our arrival we were showed where we would be staying and given a run down of house rules and where everything was located, but we were quickly left to ourselves and never felt like our privacy was invaded.
I would gladly return tomorrow if I could.

The cabin was as described. This cabin would be perfect for a couple or small family looking to spend a long weekend on the farm. There is a fire pit to enjoy under the stars and a cool stream to put your feet in during the day. The cabin has a small fridge stocked with farm treats and there are all the necessary cooking utensils to prepare and serve a table clothed dinner if you wanted to do so on the picnic table. The compositing outhouse is very clean and there is an outdoor sink with potable water to drink and wash up with. Definitely take the farm tour and make arrangements to have a picnic lunch basket or dinner prepared- delicious! The owners are very accommodating and friendly but also give you plenty of privacy. Can't say enough great things about the Farmhand Cabin at the Stone and Thistle Farm! We began our stay with a farm tour which included holding furry baby chicks, bottle feeding lambs, collecting eggs, chasing around little ducks, all while constantly being surrounded by friendly guard pups at work.
The host, Denise, introduced us to the charming, homey cabin which was stocked with fire wood, kindling, several cast iron pans, eating utensils, plates, cutting boards, among other things like fishing rods and board games... Honestly, anything and everything you would ever need for an ideal camping experience.
The cabin is near a creek, which made for a beautiful and peaceful background noise, while goats and sheep roamed around the cabin. I couldn't recommend this place more for an idyllic and thoughtful getaway!
Denise also had great recommendations for some local things! Ommegang brewery and the town of Andes were both great.
We woke up in the morning to a nice sunrise and had coffee, berries, and Denise's homemade chocolate babka on the porch. Some sheep came to greet us!
