We had a great time camping at Anna's property. We felt very welcomed on arrival and were given the choice of multiple beautiful camp sites across Tin Can Ridge to choose from. We ended up staying at the top of the hill with breathtaking views over beautiful bush land. We'll be back again one day for sure!

This was a spectacular spot, and we had an absolutely fantastic time here. Andrew and Anna were very welcoming. We love this spot because it is remote, private and with beautiful views. Nights were chilly so perfect for snuggling up. We would definitely come back again.

A gorgeous get-away
We had a great time camping here, and so handy for a weekend getaway from Canberra. Andrew and Anna's property is gorgeous; a great balance of tree cover and open space, and high on the ridgeline for great views across the valley. Despite the wet weather we were easily able to get to the site with 2WD vehicles, and having access to potable water and being able to scavange firewood on site made it super convenient. Our dogs also loved exploring the trails with us.

Beautiful views
From the moment we arrived Andrew and Anna were the best host, they greeted us at their home, and showed us a couple of places for us to park our van, and gave us a few tips on small hike around their property.
Easy access, flat parking, sheltered from the wind if there is wind around.
Would recommend, and we will be back

Great dog-friendly spot with views
Such a great location about an hour's drive from Canberra. Great comms from Andrew and Anna from beginning to end. The campsite was secluded, dog-friendly, easy to get to (the Hipcamp directions were accurate) meaning we had privacy and freedom to explore the property. We loved the personal touches including outdoor tables and chairs (enough for a group of 6-7), giant firepit and large pile of firewood ready, logs around the firepit and a map of the property. We explored around, looking for the springs and trails, with amazing panoramic views everywhere. Our group and fur babies had a blast and would highly recommend this wonderful spot to fellow campers.

We had a great time at Andrew and Annas! Stayed four nights. Anna and Andrew were very welcoming, knowledgeable of their land, and very helpful.
There are tracks to explore the land and take advantage of the various viewpoints of the amazing expansive views from their land, and the map provided was extremely helpful! The campground we were in (civilisation) was plenty large enough and with the large fire pit, tap, and furniture was very welcoming!
It is an amazing spot to walk around and explore, and then come back to camp to enjoy a really quiet, remote location.

We loved the stunning views from this campsite and the peace and quiet. Sunsets and sunrises were outstanding and watching the sea mist roll in across the distant hills was just lovely. Andrew and Anna are wonderful hosts. We will certainly be camping here again.

Lovely welcoming hosts offering a beautiful and interesting location away from the bustle of the city.
Civilisation is a sweet level camp close to the homestead. It has a great fire pit and log seating in place as well as a tap with potable water. There are numerous walking trails with an abundance of bird life, plants, fungi and wombat holes to explore.
I was greeted by a beautiful flame robin on my first morning, who spent most of the morning quite close by allowing for some great photo opportunities.
Would recommend Andrew and Anna as hosts and their lovely property. 1400 campsite is well worth the steep ascent.

We camped for 3 nights at '1400'. There are three campsites on the property; one at 'civilisation' which is near the hosts homestead in a sheltered, lower elevation that has running water and a nice campsite. Up the short steep track (recommend a AWD/4WD) are 2 campsites - site #1 and site #2 that are at 1400m elevation and are more secluded with great views. Site #1 is sheltered and site #2 is more open and private. We were at site #2, and had amazing views of the night sky and the valley with birdlife during the day. Utter tranquillity! Possibly the best part of the getaway was the hospitality shown by Anna and Andrew. They are a genuinely lovely couple who helped modify our booking and even took us on a lovely hike to the top of the Tinderry Nature preserve for more amazing views. Thank you for an excellent weekend. Would highly recommend it and we plan on returning soon.

Beautiful, private location in a lush mountain setting. Hostess Ann was most welcoming & informative, driving us around possible camp sites on arrival. In spit of heavy rain necessitating early departure we would certainly return.

Relaxing and tranquil
Fourteen hundred lends itself to magnificent views and tranquility. We had several options to set up camp and Found areas to explore and enjoy the views and surroundings.

This is a great location close to Canberra for a quick getaway. Andrew and Anna were extremely helpful and lovely hosts. The two camp sites are well spread out and private. Lots of great spots for tents. The trailer sites have been graded to give a level surface but have the potential to get a little muddy in the wet. My site had a roll of artificial turf which was a great addition to the front of the camper. There’s lots of trails
on the property for exploring the local flora and fauna. I shouldn’t have been surprised (the hint is in the name) but at 1400 feet the temperature drops pretty quickly and while I was there the weather forecast was for potential snow at 1500 feet so it was a bit cooler than I’d expected. It made for a lovely misty mountain morning.

Brilliant spot with great hosts
We stayed at 1400 at the beginning of July and despite the sub zero night time temps, we had an amazing time. The views are fantastic and there are some fun bush walks on the property. The road up to the camp site was also fun and made the trip feel quite adventurous. The hosts are extremely welcoming and made us feel very comfortable during our stay. The sites are a little slopy so pack some levelling gear if you have a camper. We definitely want to come back to 1400!

Amazing location, great hospitality
Fourteen Hundred was a spectacular campsite. We arrived with 2 cars and there was plenty of room for us to set up, with a lovely fire pit in place to warm ourselves during the freezing evenings. Aside from the breath-taking views at the camp site, a short walk offered beautiful views of the valley and the evening sunset. Andrew and Anna were incredibly gracious hosts and made us feel very welcome when we arrived, even calling to check that we were on track to arrive safely when we were running late. They provided great information, including maps of the camp sites and the property, as well as weather forecasting information. They also delivered wood straight to our campsite when we severely underbudgetted our wood needs in the middle of winter at 1400m elevation.
I would highly recommend Fourteen Hundred to anyone wanting to experience the wild ruggedness of the relatively rare mountain environments we have in Australia, and while it was overcast during our stay, I can imagine on a clear night avid stargazers could watch the night sky put on an absolutely spectacular show from here.
I will definitely be returning!

Fantastic views over the ranges
Anna and Andrew were delightful hosts. They made sure we were comfortable with our site and checked that we would manage the unseasonable weather. They showed us good walking sites. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
