We loved how much we were surrounded by wildlife from the moment we arrived. The host clearly has an appreciation for gardening, as he had a thoughtfully appointed barbecue area surrounded by garden, and plenty of woodland flanking the dam. We identified at least 30 bird species and 3 frog species during the 3 nights we stayed. We loved watching the geese come and go from the dam, too. The portaloo and porta-shower were clean and well equipped. Firewood was provided for a barrel fire in the backyard. The yard's fencing is not enclosed, so it's not secure enough to leave an unleashed dog in it, and other campers were letting their off-leash dogs wander into our space unsupervised. With this in mind, if your dog is reactive to other dogs getting in its space, it's a good idea to keep it on a leash or inside to avoid any incidents. The host provided a lot of thoughtful things, like fresh fruit, matches for the backyard fire, cereal, bread and milk, a torch, and bath robes which helped us get to and from the outdoor shower in privacy.
