Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
The Mesa is a large, unimproved space where visitors are struck by the almost supernatural, therapeutic quiet. The sites are widely separated, and there is some latitude for site selection, for self-contained camping. Amenities include coyotes, deer, ginormous rabbits; room for hiking, access to public canyon lands, dark-night sky with elevation-enhanced (6,750’) star gazing, and visual and auditory seclusion. Near national historic sites, a wildlife refuge, charming Las Vegas, NM, and an easy drive to Santa Fe.The Mesa is a large, unimproved space where visitors are struck by the almost supernatural, therapeutic quiet. Rig suitability
Vehicles under 30 feet allowed
4x4 vehicle recommended, not strictly required. Ground clearance minimum 9.5”.
Allowed rigs: travel trailers, pop-up campers, class B RVs, campervans, cars, truck campers, and rooftop tents
Pull-through site
Trailering expertise helpful but not necessary, as the host doesn’t have it.
Accommodates slideouts
Each site has plenty of room for slideouts, canopies, or other expansion modules.
