Located east of Cloudcroft, NM in Mayhill, NM. A river runs through the campground. We are located at 2180 Rio Penasco Road Mayhill NM 88339. Two tent areas: River Side and Mountain View. This site is for TENT bookings. Setting at 6,700 ft and surrounded by mountains with lots of wildlife. There are no tent sites with electric. RV sites can not be used for tent camping. We are located at the corner of HWY 82 and 130 in Mayhill NM.

The forest is laced with small villages, picturesque roads, riding, hiking, and walking trails. Small valleys, surrounding mountains, racing streams, wildlife, birds, mountain glens and outdoor activities are available to Camp Rio guests.The small towns around us are Mayhill, Cloudcroft, Weed, and Pinion. These towns have scheduled activities such as arts and craft fairs, car shows, bluegrass festivals, dog shows, and Lumberjack days. Additional day trips to Alamogordo, Capitan (Smokey the Bear), Carlsbad, Las Cruces, Lincoln (Billy the Kid), Ruidoso (skiing), Sunspot (National Solar Observatory, Truth or Consequences (Hot Springs) and White Sands National Monument! Nestled in an RV site near the river this 1964 vintage Shasta camper sleeps 2 in a full size bed. Unit comes with bedding, lots of cozy pillows and towels for the bathhouse. There is a sink, cooktop, small inside fridge and dishes and utensils for cooking or step outside to dine at your private picnic table after visiting our on-site food trailer just steps away from the Daisy. Seating area outside with turf grass mat and 2 chairs and side table. Come step back in time and glamp with us in an updated yet still very original vintage SHASTA camper!

All bedding is included, plus small fridge, microwave, small coffeemaker, camp stove, all cooking supplies and grill. Room 2 is the Teardrop trailer with a full bed with bedding and outdoor kitchen. Parked in beautiful wooded setting with hammocks and a swinging chair, the campers are ready for you to enjoy. Access to updated bath houses plus Pavilion with wood burning fireplace and flat screen TV. Cleaning fee is $35 We are located at the corner of HWY 82 and 130 in Mayhill NM .
