Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
The Village of Commerce is located halfway between St.Louis and Memphis. Commerce has an unobstructed view of the Mississippi without a levee. This location will have approximately 4 minutes of totality for the April 8, 2024 eclipse. There is public access to the Mississippi for fishing and exploring.We are in the path of the 2024 Eclipse and should have approx 4 minutes of totality!! River Ridge Winery is just up the road and there is a BBQ place within 3 miles. You will have a direct view of the Mississippi River and the surrounding area. Walking through town you will find several interesting buildings. This is the first high ground north of the confluence of the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. In the times of the Mississippian culture, it was used as a stopover to get supplies. Early explorers stopped here to camp, including the Lewis and Clark expedition. We are not responsible for cloudy skies or high water. There will be plenty of information available 3 days prior to the Eclipse to allow for a refund.

What an amazing location to experience the eclipse! The views of the Mississippi River were beautiful and Bill was a great host.

Great spot to witness the eclipse
Great place to witness the eclipse. Nothing more than a plot of grass and across the road from the Mississippi River but everyone was super friendly. Mayor Bill was very welcoming!

Wonderful time at a great location for the eclipse. Great friendly locals. Wonderful campers. The camp was light on services (No water, toilet, trash,etc) but great on friendliness. Commerce is a must stop for the adventurous.
