Located at the end of a private road on Fool Lake with wooded mature trees that offer privacy. The lake is quiet and calm. Fool Lake is a private, environmental lake, with many varieties of fish. Perfect for kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and swimming. Boating is allowed up to 40 hp via gated private launch (no tubing or skiing). The land slopes to the lake where you will find small dock and a few stairs into the water. Well for water and electricity available including a 30 amp hookup for RV campers. Large outhouse also has electricity. Minutes away from access to Cuyuna trails, Crosby, and Emily, as well as nearby Nisswa and Crosslake. This central location offers access to any and all amenities. After a day on the trails, in town, or on the water, an evening at the fire pit overlooking the lake is a perfect way to end the day. Wind down, relax and enjoy the trees, lake and nature surrounding you. We expect all guests to respect the neighborhood, lake and nature! **November to early spring the water access will be winterized and NOT available for use. Any winter camping is at your own digression and snow removal will only be provided on the neighborhood road(s) up to the entrance of the site. Getting into the site could be difficult depending on the snow conditions.** Note: there is currently a locked camper & small kids house on site not available for use. When facing the lake, the fire pit is located near the middle of the yard on the right hand side. If you use the fire pit please always keep the fire supervised and be sure it's completely out (coals too) before leaving the pit unsupervised. Keep the forest and animals safe! Neighbors on the left are a seasonal campground (Fools Lake Campground) currently closed and to the right an Airbnb house. Please be respectful of the property and the neighbors/neighborhood. Take all trash with you so it doesn't end up in the lake or feeding the wildlife :) Enjoy the amazing area! **Please note after site has been winterized in early November there is no running water available. Snow removal will only be provided on the neighborhood road(s) up to the site entrance. A Fool's Paradise Found: Camping at Fool Lake, MN Don't let the name fool you, Fool Lake in Minnesota is anything but foolish! My recent overnight camping trip with my cousin to this hidden gem was an absolute blast. Nestled amidst towering trees, the lake offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We arrived at the campsite and quickly set up our tents. The afternoon was spent kayaking around the lake and setting up camp. As evening descended, we gathered around the campfire, shared stories and laughter under a canopy of stars. Waking up to the sounds of nature was pure bliss. We brewed a pot of coffee and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast while taking in the breathtaking sunrise over the lake. We were even lucky enough to spot a family of eagles in a large nest nearby! Fool Lake provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable camping adventure. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with nature and my cousin. I highly recommend this spot to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway with opportunities for outdoor fun.

A wonderful, quaint little area with lake access. Serene, quiet, and away from traffic makes this area a great little spot for the weekend getaway or a week long excursion. The hosts are communicative and incredibly friendly.

It feels pretty private and is beautiful land with an awesome lake view. Quiet and serene. The swing is great. My dog absolutely loved to swim in the lake, and that was the best part, watching him loving it. I wanted to swim with my dog but found it hard to access the water with the slippery wooden stairs (algae) into the water, the very wobbly dock that is very high up (the height is unavoidable I think), and the high lake banks with lots of foliage and when my dog mucked up the water with his swimming the water wasn't clear enough to see where my foot would be landing. So to avoid injury I didn't swim. And I love to swim. Hosts really do have lots of thought out extras in the outhouse should a need arise and that is really nice. We had an older guy on a 4 wheeler with a dog come up to "check on us" who made us feel uncomfortable and it didn't really seem like he was sent by the property owners as he was asking us questions. We ended up not staying the 1 night we booked because of this, rain forecasted, and we learned car camping in our new car wasn't really going to work for us. So we drove home.

Great place! Only complaint is it’s fairly slanted by the water, I was able to make it work for sleeping in my truck tent, but my buddies would slide down in their tents throughout the night. It’s flatter up the hill but then you’re far from the lake. I would go back though :) beautiful sunrises and a dock to fish off of and felt almost completely private.

This site is ideal for smaller RV or tenting. It was nice and quiet with a gorgeous view of the lake. Plus, a bonus, we caught a few fish from the dock. Looking for a kick back location and just want to relax? This is the place. We will be back!! John & Janel

Loved the tent camping at Wise Woods. Wonderful view of the lake fom our tents. Kayaking was amazing on the perfect size lake. Lots of birds to listen to around the campfire. Perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Would come here again.

We made the mistake of setting up our tents on the slope of the hill, and ended up sliding about 4 feet to the other side of the tent in our sleep. If you camp here, tents should be up at the top, not by the fire. Mosquitos are bad, so bring a fogger and some bug spray! The dock out to the lake is really wobbly, so if you have older folk camping with you, make sure they don't fall in. It was an amazing experience, and we would recommend it

Beautiful spot! Very quiet lake with private access. We brought up the paddleboards and toured the shoreline. Very spacious site. Quite a few decent hammock spots between the trees. Would love to visit next summer!

The property was absolutely beautiful. Watching the sunrise over the lake each morning was worth the trip by itself! Very nice to have an outhouse with electricity (so there was a light). We were able to set up our food area on top of the property and our tents right next to the lake. The area was so peaceful and private. I don’t think we’ve ever seen so many songbirds! We brought our own wood for bonfires but had the option of purchasing another bundle right in the property had we runout. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Jackie, for your hospitality!

Beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy nature and a fabulous lake view. This was my first Hipcamp experience and this one will be tough to beat. The lake and loon calls were the highlight. This little humble spot of serenity was nearly perfect. Definitely 10/10
