Property was just as described. Easy check in. Great area to hike and enjoy the fall color. Hosts responded quickly to questions.

We enjoyed a great "quick getaway" (from Minneapolis) at this sweet property. Tucked in the woods, a 3 minute walk to the river, this was super relaxing. Hiking at St Croix State Park, s'mores, reading & games... Couldn't ask for a better mini-break. Thanks for the hospitality!

River Meadows Cabin
It was reported on the host's behalf that we arrived/checked in 3 hours early which was not true. It was also reported that we were being disrespectful and loud which I will agree but, quiet hours were stated on there as from 10pm to about 8pm. In regards to that, I believed we were aloud to have fun and didnt do wrong on that part.
The cabin allowed a total of 6 guests. Which was great. Place was homey. Small flies were everywhere in the cabin but that didn't bug us much. They had 2 adult kayaks and 2 children kayaks. That definitely was not enough for a group of 6. Wheras the cabin across from us, probably big enough for a smaller group had about 6 adult kayaks just laying out there.
I originally thought the hosts were very kind and easy to communicate with at first, but, my mind changed as after we left, a couple of false information had been reported.
We also assumed the loading dock was ok to be shared as on our side where the stairs go down to the river didnt have anywhere we felt safe for us to load our kayaks.
Neighboring communication was also not great as they communicated with us like animals instead of using their words, only to first walk out to his vehicle and honked his vehicle alarm at us for a good minute before stepping to walk over to us to then used their hands to talk as we tried to talk to them asking if we were being too loud.

We had a wonderful weekend in our cabin. The cabin was very clean upon arrival, well stocked on toilet paper, paper towels, linens, plenty of cooking utensils, pans. We arrived with groceries but forgot ketchup and mayo, to our surprise there was some in the fridge already (thank you).
The fishing right outside the cabin is great. Just walk to the shore, throw a crawler on a split spot rig and cast right into the main flow line of the river. We caught dozens of bass, sheep head, some 5-10lb catfish, a suckered.
The kayaks were all set on a stand upon arrival along with a SUP. The river itself was a gorgeous site. Very easy to kayak both ways. Please bring some water shoes or Crocs if you intend on walking in the water or swimming. Our oldest caught a treble hook left by someone to the bottom of his croc. Also pulled in some other tackle on the bottom of the river from people who got snagged. Just use caution.
We dined at A&W and Pizza Pub for their Friday pizza buffet. The Art Festival in town on Saturday was pretty cool. Prolly over 50 different vendors there selling different things.
The owners and everyone else we met in Pine City were all very friendly. It's such a wonderful town. We planned on exploring the area more originally, but some time at this cabin was all we needed.
If it wasn't 7 hours away I'd already be booking another trip back !!!! Thank you to the owners for doing a great job !!!

When our travel plans fell through, I was excited to stumble upon the Meadows cabin as a holiday alternative. Communication with the hosts was prompt and clear and we enjoyed the chance to bring along our dogs with the fair pet policy. From K-cups to dog treats, the hosts had us covered and all we had to do was show up and slow down. Highlights for us included the indoor fireplace and nearby river views. This was an extremely positive experience that I’d be eager to recommend and book again.

Directions to property were clear, entering the cabin was convenient with the key pad, and although other cabins are close, the trees provide enough privacy that you still feel you're in a secluded space. The cabin itself has a great screen porch for relaxing, storing poles, and hanging wet clothing. Inside the cabin are the amenities of home, electricity, hot water, beds,wifi, Roku TV, washer/dryer, appliances, plates and cookware. We enjoyed using the provided kayaks, firepit, and spent time fishing and hope to be back next year!

Badly needed getaway from work. This cabin was just what I needed. Very spacious, clean & all the amenities. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with multiple thunderstorms. When the sun came out after the rain, it was very hot & hunid plus LOTS of mosquitos. Thankful for the screened in porch! Will be back, but next time will come in the fall, after the mosquitos are no more.

I loved this cabin. It has everything you need and more. We could have brought less with us and will next time. The view is amazing. It rained almost every day usually in the morning which was great because we got to see a family of river otters play. We kayaked down the river a little ways, with our four year old son, it was safe and manageable at the start of our stay. After all the rain. the river was deeper and moving faster as expected just stay aware. I had coffee with a bald eagle, two great blue heron (followed one up stream for a little while), more turtles than I could count, a bunch of shorebirds and one dog named Temperance :) My son enjoyed the hammock, fishing, and hotdogs over the fire. We rented a paddle boat at Moose Lake state park and caught a bunch of nice sized bluegill. These are just some of the highlights. We will be back most likely in the winter after it snows (my favorite season). I can't wait to see the view from the bedroom. Thank you. Danielle, John, Henry, and Temperance

River Meadows Cabin
There are a couple things I would fix/change, but overall the cabin is cute, clean and comfortable. I lost cell reception which was a pain, but gained it close enough to get the maps sorted out. For some reason Apple Maps takes you way past where you’re supposed to go. Neighbors were a bit close for my preference, but it wasn’t a big deal, everybody was quiet and kept to their own. Good little get away with the pups.

Completely relaxing, we enjoyed having access to kayaks and being able to hop on the river. The fishing was great! The cabin had all the amenities needed for a getaway. The host was very accommodating to us switching our weekends. We really enjoyed our weekend away!

Wonderful cabin, beautiful setting! Our family had a very nice time. We enjoyed kayaking, water was too low for tubing. The mosquitoes were too crazy for us to sit on the deck, but being right on the riverbank allowed us to enjoy the view from inside the cabin. The fishing was great, my son caught his personal best for smallmouth bass and was beyond excited. We will definitely visit again.

This was a perfect spot to get away and enjoy some quiet time by myself. It is very thoughtfully laid out from the adorably large stuffed animal decorations, to the reading options dotted around the cabin. I can see how this space would be perfect for a double couples retreat or family outing. No waiting for hot water for a shower! All the amenities of being home, plus fireplaces! I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and look forward to a future stay. Thank you, Tracy!

My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic time at the wilderness retreat in Pine City! Right when we arrived, we knew this place was going to be fantastic. Perfect for around 2-4 people to stay at with two rooms and a nice living area. It was so peaceful that it was right on the river. Having the fireplace was also extremely cozy especially in the winter. Altogether, one of the best places we ever stayed at. We did have to leave early though due to snow on the roads, but had a great time while we were there. We will for sure be back in the future!

Very nice and cozy cabin with everything you need, all the necessities. Great scenery surrounding, which we loved. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back again. The only negative I could think of is that the couch is probably due for replacement as it is very sunken in. Other than that, we had hoped to do a lot of fishing but the river was only maybe 12 inches deep at best in front of cabin and it literally rained the entire time we were there, so we didn't get to take the kayaks out to try and find a deeper fishing spot. Everything else was fantastic, though. It was so nice to be unplugged and spend a few days having quality family time. Doggo loved it too!

This place was as close to perfect as it could be. My family (wife and 3 kids) and I have been looking for a place like this for a long, long time.
Words cannot describe how good it felt sitting around a fire with my family, a beer in my hand and my line in the water, and all the comforts of home just steps away.
The cabin felt just like staying in a friend’s home. Everything we needed was provided. Everything worked perfectly.
The river, only about 20 feet away, is beautiful. It is absolutely pristine. We caught so many fish, it became tiring. It was amazing.
