Learn more about this land: Start your morning with a perfect view of the sunrise (site 2), or a more shaded, sleep-in a bit (site 1) along with your favorite morning beverage. Take a walk on our country road or into town, approximately a mile and a half to restaurants, visitors center at the Jolly Green Giant Statue, hardware stores, Shell gas station & food mart or access to miles of paved trails around the town. Explore and have fun locating the dozens of "Little Sprouts" (baby Green Giants) around town. Very easy entrance and exit to Blue Earth, site is located at the intersection of Interstate 90 & HWY 169.

5 acres of grassy farmland covered by large oak trees to set up camp. This is not a designated area, you are able to set up in a number or areas, you choose which is suitable for you. This site will not have a designated fire pit, but a portable one could be used or one of the 2 fire pits on the property could also be used, and you could set up tent near them.

A "Snapshot Farm" as one of my recent lovely guests described my property. Atop a hill at the corner of 2 highways, convenient access,there is highway noise. If you like white noise, you may enjoy it, I do now. Watching the traffic also becomes a nice past time seeing many classic cars, huge campers, showoff motorcycles and semi's using j-breaks.... it just comes with the territory.  Drive into my property from a short trip on a gravel road to the quarter-ish mile gravel driveway past cornfields, a grove, huge oak and ash trees to the circle drive at the north of the house for site 1. Then continue a short distance further for site 2, north of the barn. I have 2 geriatric, female dogs that roam the land.  Emma is a black lab and Lady is a pit/terrior mix. They will likely introduce themselves by barking and running towards you, then a sniff check of your belongings. They are friendly as can be and sometimes invade a little too much and have once because of their terrible manners snatched a campers leftover pizza!!! If you're okay with my pets roaming, beware they are food thieves. I also have 2 farm cats that wander around and often greet guests. If you are traveling with pets, or this kind of animal behavior will bother you, please give me a heads up, I promise you won't hurt my feelings. A walk around my 7 acre property you will find a grove with dirt trails, downed trees and native plants. I have a small garden to enjoy fresh vegetables and preserve food thru canning or drying. If veggies are ripe during your stay and look tasty, help yourself. Also feel free to rip out some weeds if you are ever so inclined. Near the garden is a hammock, junky-ish (sorry) wooden rock wall and tower with slide (if you have small children, this is remnants of a swing set from when my kids were little), a little old playhouse with chalk board inside,  and brick ring for fires, (firewood and fire starters are available for a small fee, ask in advance if you can) and logs to sit on or bring your chair, a sandbox is adjacent to this. This area is closet to site 1.  You will also find an outbuilding for storage in this area edged on the south hill with a pumpkin and gourd patch looking over the highway and north edge of the City of Blue Earth, corn fields, my fenced in pasture with prairie grass, clover, oak trees, and dirt-bike jumps my kids have made. My 2 story old barn was once a dairy cow barn where my great grandpa had 30-40 head for a number of years and then he converted the barn into his shop for his carpentry business. It's now my shop that I share with my dad and family to tinker on our projects. Next to the barn is and old shelter which will be housing some piggy wiggies coming in July. My chicken coop for my egg layer chickens is also there in the pig pen area. For your safety and the safety of my animals, please do not go inside the small fenced area unless I am with you. If you wish to do so or have any questions about the animals, please ask! :) Northwest of the barn/animal area is my parking garage and home. Northeast of the barn/animal area is site 2 and another storage shop. Please feel free to roam the property and check it all out. You will see wildlife on the property including rabbits, pheasant, deer, eagles, many other birds, neighbors cats, coyote, skunks and raccoon (mind your trash, food scraps and pets!) Start your morning with a perfect view of the sunrise (site 2), or a more shaded, sleep-in a bit (site 1) along with your favorite morning beverage. If your stop allows time to explore, take a walk on our country road or into town, approximately a mile and a half to restaurants, Visitors Center & Museum at the Jolly Green Giant Statue, hardware stores, Faribault county Fitness Center, Shell gas station & food mart or access to miles of paved trails around the town great for pedal bikes or electric, walking, and jogging . Explore and have fun locating the dozens of "Little Sprouts" (baby Green Giants) around town. On Main Street you'll find several cute shops and boutiques, Juba's Supervalu Grocery and Convenience Store, benches with shade and flowers to enjoy, the south end of Main Street there is a really nice swimming pool with zero depth, 2 water slides, a diving board with lap pool, concession stands, plenty of lounge chairs with big umbrellas,  tennis courts, playground and shelter areas. Very easy entrance and exit to Blue Earth, site is located at the intersection of Interstate 90 & HWY 169.

If you have any questions about the animals, please ask! :) on the east side of the barn is a small patio area and outdoor bathroom designed for HipCampers with a rug, small table, a bench, flowers and the outdoor bathroom. Please see the photographs and feel free to use this area. Northwest of the barn is my parking garage and home. Northeast of the barn is site 2 and another storage shop. Please feel free to roam the property and check it all out. It's alot to keep up & sometimes in disorray. You will see wildlife on the property including rabbits, pheasant, deer, eagles, hawks, owls, many other birds, neighbors cats, maybe their dog, coyote, skunks and raccoon (mind your trash, food scraps and pets!). Start your morning with a perfect view of the sunrise (site 2), or a more shaded, sleep-in a bit (site 1) along with your favorite morning beverage. Both site 1 & 2 have picnic tables. If your stop allows time to explore, take a walk on our country road or into town, approximately a mile and a half to restaurants, grab breakfast and coffee right before you hit the highway at Farmer's Daughters Kitchen or Cabin Coffee, or roam for a bit & check out town--Visitors Center & Museum at the Jolly Green Giant Statue, hardware stores-Bomgaars has calling supplies, Faribault County Fitness Center, Shell Gas station & food mart fudge shop or access to miles of paved trails around the town great for pedal bikes or electric, walking, and jogging . Explore and have fun locating the dozens of "Little Sprouts" (baby Green Giants) around town. Chelsey has a great set up and is conveniently located right near the highway and local restaurants. She was very helpful upon our arrival and ensured we had what we needed. If ever in the area again, I would definitely stay at Chelsey's farm if available.

Beautiful spot with large shade trees. Amazing sunrise view from property. Whimsical outhouse facility gave it a homey vibe. We were greeted by the owner’s two very friendly and sweet dogs. One sat with us while we had our coffee and just wanted some head scratching. It made us feel good since we were missing our dogs that couldn’t come with us on this trip.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Chelsey was so warm and welcoming (and her pups too!). Yes there’s some road noise but it didn’t bother us a bit. Easy to find and the space was wonderful.

Very private, beautiful property. The host was friendly and very hospitable— offering firewood, providing a citronella candle, and got an extra digger out for the sand box. This is a good beginner campsite — close to help, but enough privacy to enjoy your time. We had a small fire the first night, unfortunately, though we struggled to enjoy it. For some reason, the mosquitos were the worst we have ever experienced. They swarmed us even with the citronella candles and bug spray. A member of the host’s family did say that this was very unusual to have them this bad though. So, hopefully, it won’t be a hindrance to future campers, because it really is a great, convenient site— especially if you are just popping up a tent for the night and heading into town to see the green giant as we were doing. After camping at 8 different sites, this site is the one we felt most safe at too!

A Farm Camping Experience

First off, the host was wonderful. Her and her family are very friendly and make you feel at home. They have two nice dogs, a few barn kitties (also friendly), a couple chickens, and a rooster. The rooster is actually quieter than most when crowing in the morning. The campsite was clean and close to the outhouse. There was a big fire pit and a nice picnic table. There was enough space for four tents (two big and two small) and an 8x8 canopy. We brought four dogs with us too and didn't have any issues. The farm was very cute and quaint. There were a couple other folks camping on the property too but lots of space between sites. We loved our stay at the farm and would come again. Keep in mind, this is not your typical camp in the woods setup - this is on a farm with more field than tree. It is beautiful in its own right and was a great way to mix up our camping experience.

Picture perfect farm. Wish I could've stayed longer. Property is large, gorgeous and plenty of things for my dog to check out and sniff. The outhouse was amazing and much welcomed after a couple days on the road. If I am anywhere close in the future this will be my must stay.

Beautiful home and yard, tucked just off the highway! It was great for a quick night of sleep while passing through. The price could not be beat. We appreciated the flexibility of our arrival time and having a heavy duty extension cord, water, and trash disposal. It was refreshing to have recycling collection offered since we were hauling ours around waiting to find a place to drop it off. Highly recommended!

Convenient, Quiet and Safe

Chelsey offers a quiet and convenient spot right off Rte. 90 to park for the night. The toilet is clean and water is available. The setting is an old farmhouse at the top of a small hill that offers a view of the surrounding farmland, and some beautiful old trees. Chelsey was friendly and accommodating.

The weather didn't cooperate the weekend we went but we still had a nice time. It was a little different type of camping for us being in a driveway, but we had enough privacy and things were quiet. Chelsey was very friendly and helpful. Nice view of the sunrise in the morning (site #2).

The land was beautiful. Chelsey and her animals were lovely. The directions were easy to understand. Everything felt so intentional and accommodating. We would absolutely stay again and recommend.

Loved this place. It is so idyllic. Nearby are the Farmers Daughter restaurant, with excellent pancakes. And it is the home of the jolly green giant! Soooo nice!
