Come experience Crooked Creek Retreat, a Cedar Log Cabin and a Pine Hunter's Cabin, nestled in the pines and valleys created by the St. Croix River. Situated just north of the Twin Cities, a quiet getaway with family and friends is just moments away. Enjoy mornings of birds singing or snowy quietness. Crooked Creek Retreat is a place where artists can be inspired and create together, where musicians can craft their songs and where families or small groups can gather by a fire and share in simple the experience of connecting with one another. We offer one main log home and two rustic pine cabins, for up to 16 people. A perfect lumberjack's private getaway! The Cedar log cabin is a glamping dream! Available in every season- beautiful year round. Full kitchen, all linens and beds made, 1 1/2 baths. The cabin is surrounded by 20 acres of prairie, a lovely lawn for lawn games and campfires, circled by the woods. Only a few miles away from St. Croix State park (almost 34,000 acres of river and woodland). The Pine Hunter's Cabin is a perfect add-on or stand-alone rental for up to four people- a vintage glamping delight! The Maple Group Cabin can be added on to any of these rentals for larger group gatherings (meals, sleeps another 6 people) for $100 per night. Information forthcoming!

A perfect lumberjack's private getaway! Built of British Columbia Red Cedar, the Cedar Log Cabin at Crooked Creek Retreat is a Minnesota glamping dream come true. Available in every season- beautiful year round. Full kitchen, all linens provided and beds made, 1 1/2 baths. The cabin is surrounded by 20 acres of prairie, a lovely lawn for lawn games and campfires, circled by the woods. Only a few miles away from St. Croix State park (almost 34,000 acres of river and woodland).

The Pine Hunter's Cabin is for those hunting for a place to experience a peaceful time in the woods in vintage throwback style! The cabin has newly remodeled steel and cedar siding and it is a glamping delight. Set atop a hill under a mighty oak tree and surrounded by aspen and birch, this private abode is as sweet as can be. Heated by a Fisher wood stove (wood for heating cabin indoors provided) and equipped with electricity, this Pine Cabin has a kitchenette with table and chairs, a small fridge, drip coffeepot, hot plate for cooking, electric teapot for heating water and vintage coffee cups and glassware. There is a large Rubbermaid container to fill from the 100 foot deep well for your drinking water, cooking, etc. A serviced, clean Portable is just down the hill from the cabin. A private firepit completes the glamping vibe! Please bring your own camping chairs and firewood for the firepit. You won't want to leave! *This cabin can be rented on its own or as an add-on to the Cedar and Maple Cabins for a full-property rental.

Maple Group Cabin- add on to Cedar

Please note: The Maple Cabin is only available as an add-on to renting the main Cedar Log Cabin at Crooked Creek Retreat. This larger group cabin is perfect for adding on to larger group stays and sleep up to 6 people on built in benches beds. Bring you own sleeping bags and pillows! The cabin is heated by a large woodstove in the winter months and has screened-in- windows all around for fresh sleeping in the summertime. Large refrigerator, dining table, folding tables for artist events and group projects, folding chairs. large Rubbermaid container for filling up at main Cedar Log Cabin for drinking water, washing, etc. Outhouse (tried and true) available down the path.

Peaceful, Quiet Getaway
Pine Hunter's Cabin
Crooked Creek was a perfect oasis away from the city. We really enjoyed the cozy vibes of the cabin, and the walking paths for us to enjoy. We were even provided orange beanies for hunting season, which we greatly appreciated as we went on our hikes! Naomi did a great job of making us feel comfortable and at home, and we would absolutely return.

Amazing stay, great property, Naomi was incredibly warm and gracious. I held a small men's cancer retreat there and everyone really appreciated the space. We will be back!

We had the best time at Crooked Creek Resort! The cabin was a perfect fit for our family of 6 and two dogs. We loved the record collection! The weather was beautiful so we spent a lot of time outside in the yard and walking around the trails on the property. Naomi was a great host and we can’t wait to come back!

The cedar cabin had EVERYTHING we could have needed (full kitchen, sheets/towels) and a uniquely welcoming ambiance (vintage treasures from the property and family; two pot-bellied stoves, games/puzzles/art supplies). And - the best - a collection of albums (and a record player) of all our favorites (we're in our 60s. Cat Stevens, Carole King, James Taylor, John Denver, the Carpenters - even Adele!) A biggie for us - all beds are comfortable! On firm platforms. Our backs were grateful! The property is fun to explore, and there are no neighbors. Very quiet.

The cabin was a warm and wonderful setting for our family's winter getaway! Kids and adults loved exploring the snow-covered property on snowshoes and skis. Seeing deer walk past the cabin in late afternoons and mornings connected us to nature. It was cozy to be in the log cabin, sharing meals around the big wood table, playing games, or having some quiet time to read - on the main level, upstairs loft, lower level spaces. Thank you for bring pet-friendly! We want to come back in the spring or summer!

I would highly recommend Crooked Creek Retreat! It was absolutely wonderful. Nice and private and the fire pit was definetly put to use! Hoping to go back next year :)

This cabin in the woods was beautiful and everything we needed. We loved every minute of our time here and it was so hard to leave. My only regret is not booking it for one more day. :)

The morning walk to the creek was awesome. The cabin was beautiful and grounds where well kept. Everything you need is there and everything you want to do is near by. Enjoyed our stay immensely.

We loved our stay at Cedar Log Cabin! It was so cute and quaint. The cabin had such a great cozy feel to it. When we arrived we made a fire in the pot belly stove, turned on the old-school radio and relaxed. There was no wifi or cell service, but it was nice to drop our electronics for a night and enjoy date night! We cooked pasta for dinner on the stove and set the table next to the fire. We ended the night with a glass of wine and crazy 8s. Naomi was a very thorough host and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely suggest staying at Cedar Log Cabin, we had a wonderful time!
