Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Nestled between a large peak and the Big Bay of Lake Superior, our heated cabin is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a quiet retreat. Rejuvenate in the cedar sauna, relax on the porch, or take a stroll to the shores of Lake Superior. Enjoy a bonfire, cook on the outdoor grill while taking in the night sky, or explore the endless hiking trails Cook County has to offer—the options are endless! Our cabin is located on a 40-acre parcel just off a private, well-maintained road, offering plenty of privacy for a peaceful getaway. Surrounded by undeveloped land, the area is rich with wildlife, and we've spotted everything from small songbirds to larger animals. The 14x28 cabin features a kitchenette for basic meal preparation, complete with a sink for washing up and a cozy dining table. Food and drinks can be kept cold in the solar-powered refrigerator/freezer. Sleeping accommodations include a queen-size log bed for a restful night's sleep. Enjoy outdoor dining or gather around the rock fire pit, with birch firewood provided for campfires and the sauna. A clean, spacious outhouse is available for bathroom needs. House Rules: • This is a "glamping" experience. Please leave the cabin as you found it so future guests can enjoy the space. Cleaning supplies are provided for an easy refresh, including a broom, Swiffer mop, wipes, sprays, soap, and other essentials. Working together helps keep stays affordable for everyone. • Water must be carried in by guests. • Cellular reception is limited in the area, but satellite Wi-Fi is available. • The kitchenette includes paper towels, cutting boards, hot pads, spatulas, and common utensils. • The heater is ready to warm the cabin with the simple turn of a thermostat. • Please bring your own bedding, including pillows and blankets, for your comfort. • Easy self-check-in is provided with a mechanical lockbox. • We provide dry birch firewood for clean outdoor fires, along with toiletries, cleaning supplies, and garbage bags to help make your stay comfortable. • Please observe any local fire restrictions during your stay. • The cabin is equipped with 12V DC power rather than standard household 120V power. A generator inlet is available if additional power is needed. The site is situated in the secluded forest on a private road. There's a permanent cabin, outhouse, campfire ring, and sauna house. No water or electricity is supplied, other than 12VDC. Guests will need to be self contained, take waste with them and leave no trace.
