This is an absolutely beautiful campsite. Follow the directions, although you might want to write them down, and you can’t miss it. My class B fit nicely. My dogs loved the spot and the beach. I only wished I had booked a longer stay.

Quite possibly the most beautiful spot we have ever camped at. The direction to get there were spot on; the view of the slough and Lake Superior were amazing; and its a very peaceful, quiet place to stay. We would highly recommend it, unless you don't like sand. It is a very sandy spot. But that comes with any beach! We would definitely stay here again!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars – We’ll Absolutely Be Back
The site was just as described and we really enjoyed our stay. You have your own private beach area right on Lake Superior. There is a house next door, but it is separated from the campsite by a wood fence, so we still felt like we had plenty of privacy.
The gravel road is fairly close to the site, but traffic was almost nonexistent during our stay. We only saw a couple of vehicles. We were there near the end of the season, and only one nearby house appeared to be occupied.
A couple of things worth mentioning for future campers, just so you know what to expect. It is sandy. That certainly wasn't a deal breaker for us, but the sand here is very fine. When mixed with moisture or morning dew, it sticks to just about everything and can become almost paste-like. The wind coming off Lake Superior can also be a nuisance at times, so secure anything lightweight around camp.
Those aren't complaints, just useful information we would have appreciated knowing beforehand.
The beach, privacy and especially the night sky are fantastic. Sitting right on Lake Superior makes this a pretty special place to camp.
Five stars from us, and we will absolutely be back.

I love this campsite! Off the beaten path and easy to find. It’s basically the empty lot next to a beach house divided by a fence. The next beach house is a ways down. Gorgeous beach with full private access. Trash and outhouse available. I loved it.

Beautiful spot to camp right on the beach. The site was private with stunning views all around. Sun set on the slough and sunrise on Lake Superior. Our favorite thing was the moon rise over the lake. The outhouse and recycling bins were an added bonus. Easily one of our favorite hip camps!

We stayed two nights in a 25 foot Rv and there was a nice level spot to park and enjoy views of the beach. The beach was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Our children loved it. They swam in the lake, played on the sandy beach and we ate by fire. We would recommend, 100%.

We arrived in Aug. 2026 with two 31 foot travel trailers in tow. I would have tried it but my daughter was having no part of it. Space is fine for 1 unit but be very careful of the deep loose sand. Lovely spot though. Follow the co-ordinates Todd gives you not the address or you will have a long dusty drive through back roads. All in all not a good experience and $250 left behind. There is a porta-potti on site but little else. Didn't try the water but it is Lake Superior so draw your own conclusions.

This was a superior site with natural beauty 360 degrees and it was phenomenally QUIET. A few cars and recreationists went by our camp but otherwise it was pretty deserted-a positive for us. Everything was as described and Todd, our host was a complete master. We didn’t need much but I’m sure he would have been available if we had.

Living on the beach

We loved camping on Todd's land (Tent or RV site at Lake Superior Beach Perfection)! The views are spectacular!! It was so beautiful it felt like we were living on the beach, which I guess we were 😊 Being able to see the sunrise from one side of the camper, and the sunsets on the other side was amazing!

If you're looking for wide-open Lake Superior views and a beautiful sandy beach, this HipCamp is hard to beat. The moment I pulled in, I was struck by how expansive it felt. I was greeted by an endless stretch of shoreline and a horizon that seems to go on forever. It felt like having my own private piece of Lake Superior.
One thing I really enjoyed was walking barefoot in the sand and listening to the waves. The beach is just steps from the campsite, making it easy to spend the day relaxing by the water or enjoying an incredible sunrise over Lake Superior.
One tip I'd recommend is approaching the campsite from the **south** if possible. I saw another reviewer mention this before my trip, and I completely agree—it makes backing into the site much easier and less stressful.
Although the campsite is located near the road, traffic was very light during my stay and never bothered me. There are neighboring buildings nearby, but the fencing provides more privacy than I expected, so the site still felt peaceful and secluded.
The only thing to be aware of is that this is a sandy campsite. Personally, I loved that because it gave the whole place an authentic beach-camping feel, but you'll definitely be tracking some sand into your camper.
If you're looking for a unique Lake Superior camping experience with stunning waterfront scenery, easy beach access, and a peaceful place to unwind, I would absolutely stay here again!

The site was just as beautiful as it looks online and the nature watching was unmatched! Just from the site I saw bald eagles, ravens, beavers, loons, sandhill cranes, so many different kinds of warblers and other songbirds. I would absolutely book again.

Todd was an extremely kind and helpful host! We got stuck in some snow coming in from south of the site and he was quick to respond and immediately came out to help tow us out. It is a beautiful and peaceful property and we had a great time being right on the beach!

Winter Camping w/pups!

GORGEOUS PROPERTY!!
There was some firewood at the property, but it was far too windy to justify a fire.
Clear expectations for winter camping. Campsite was not accessible - road not plowed all the way to site. If road was plowed to the site, the site would’ve been accessible - there was very little snow actually at the site. Didn’t bother us to park at the adjacent property. Access to property is only available when coming from the north - road coming from south is not plowed.
Neighbors are close by on one side, but we did not encounter anyone.
We were also traveling with two pups - they loved having the beach to themselves!

Second time here with a mixed experience
We are winter camping in our van and owner said he wouldn’t be able to get up there to see the snow conditions but we could park on road, cool, sounds good.
We get there and the plow stops before the property. 3ft wall we couldn’t pass. We wound up talking to the neighbors and some random man was in their home when they got there. Crazy! So naturally it felt super uncomfortable to ask if we could camp for the night right up to their driveway.
Turns out the owner of the camp spot was already there that day, knew about the plow issue and just didn’t tell us 🤷🏻♀️
That unusual experience did not take away from the stunning beauty this plot has to offer. The lake was frozen, dead silent and as the sun came up the lake came to life and you could hear all the water rushing underneath. Easily a locked in memory that I will never forget. Stars were amazing as always.

Hidden gem beach site

This turned out to just be a sand lot right up against a private beach on Lake Superior. It was beautiful and very quiet. There was a large fire ring which was nice. The only downside was that I could smell the porta john from a distance as the wind would carry the smell, or if I was within 10 feet without wind. It's a necessary evil I guess. I would still happily camp there again.

It seems close to other buildings but it still felt pretty private. Some traffic on the road but it's tolerable. Really nice place to get away. There is lots of sand everywhere, naturally. Somebody left a prior review about a shipping container with cameras aimed at the site. We saw nothing of the sort. Not sure where they got that although there was a shipping container a couple lots over, we didn't see any cameras but there is also a fence between the site and the next lots over. We felt safe there.
Porta John was a bit full and quite smelly, a bit unpleasant but I've actually seen worse at another hipcamp site in the UP.
Directions for finding the site are very clear. Do not try to follow Google maps as it will get you close but about 3/4 of a mile off.
