Waking up surrounded by pine trees on Robb and Jeanne’s land is a delightful sight and scent. Really comfortable place to sleep, cook, and gather in a lovely part of Michigan. A lit dining area, welcoming hosts, well-equipped and clean kitchen area, and warm outdoor shower were all fantastic. Our family and the friends we met there had a great weekend.

This place was great ! The RV site is very private and quiet. The hot shower house worked without a hitch. It was a very nice base camp to explore all the nearby sights in Empire and Sleeping bear national seashore.
Camping at its finest!! The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

Camp Moonshadow was perfect for a visit to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Everything was as described! All the tent sites were nice and level. There was also some fun yard games like cornhole and volleyball. I had a chance to chat with Robb one morning and he was nice as he could be and offered a few ideas for nearby beaches. We definitely be recommending them to friends heading to the area.

We absolutely love staying here. This is our 4th year now. Everything is always perfect. Bathrooms are well kept. They have an outdoor kitchen and drinking water for your whole stay. The outdoor showers are amazing. Camping in the red pines offers a unique experience with all the amenities that you need to be comfortable during your stay. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

It was our 4th year staying at Robb and Jeanne’s place. I cannot stress enough how much my friends and I LOVE this spot. It’s our yearly “go-to” for our friend trip and Robb and Jeanne always welcome us with open arms/are excited to see us. It’s quiet, well-kept, and BEAUTIFUL. I would recommend this spot over and over and over again. You will have a blast!

Great campsite! Super close to all the hiking at Sleeping Bear. The kitchen was amazing, bathrooms were clean, outdoor shower had hot water with good water pressure, and campsite were quiet. The kids and I loved it and would definitly recommend staying here.

Robb and Jeanne are amazing and the property even more so! My only regret is we didn’t get to spend more time with them! But we’ve already rebooked for the fall!
Everything you want in a quiet weekend. We used the RV site and it’s the only one besides their glamping suite which is awesome too!
Robb was so gracious coming to the rescue with an extra fan for us tonuse as we caught a few hot days!
Up the hill in the pines are the primitive sites and it couldn’t be more quiet. They keep it small on purpose! Must use the outdoor shower.
Our pup had the very best week exploring and she left with a newfound confidence! And a few new friends in Robb, Jeanne and Kia!
Can’t wait to be back and spend more time with them!

We enjoyed the quiet and all the birds that Merlin heard at Rob’s camp. The Shasta trailer was nice they even provided a welcoming bottle of wine. The drinking water was incredibly good right out of the tap and we filled our water bottles for each day. The outdoor kitchen worked out great and was cool and comfortable. Well worth it.

Zero complaints! Very nice hosts to talk to and their knowledge of the area and recommendations were helpful. It was the perfect amount of seclusion/privacy and with a very convenient short walk to the common areas of the camp amenities. The location is prime to go visit multiple beaches, hiking/biking, sight seeing and shopping in nearby towns. I now personally understand why so many reviews state that they will be returning. I too will and will probably invite my 3 kids on the next getaway (8, 11 & 13 yr. old) Cheers to great hospitality!

Storms were on the forcast for our trip but my partner and I took a chance to test out our new gear which failed epically. Robb came right to the rescue that morning and allowed us to set up under the barn overhang. It was perfect! He also shared some amzaing local spots to check out. We ended up with sunny sky the rest of our trip and got to go on lots of adventures in the nearby towns. Robb and Jeanne were the sweetest most down to earth couple ever! We look forward to returning to hear more stories and building a long friendship with them! The camp was very safe, LBGTQ friendly and offers tons of space to spread out. There is so much to do nearby... I highly recommend visiting The Grocer's Daughter Chocolate Shop and Nature Walk Studio in Empire. Also Great Lakes Tea and Spice Co in Glen Lake, the Owner Chis was very kind and shared wonderful stories of how his wife inspired the business with her travels!

We had a great stay! The hot showers were a definite highlight. We had booked this on purpose for the hot showers, knowing we would be on the road a few days by then and would need a freshen up! The hot water was a little inconsistent at first, but it worked well enough to do the job and then it lasted longer the second day. We appreciated the kitchen and dining spaces too! We had an excellent night of sleep in the silent woods and there were hardly any bugs!

Camp Moonshadow is immaculate, has everything you need, and has fantastic hosts.
Seriously, I over packed. The kitchen is stocked. Plus the showers are hot and the bathrooms are immaculate.
The tent sites are nestled beneath towering pines. The sites are level. The campsite is quiet and peaceful.
Robb was a gracious and helpful host. I can't wait to come back with the whole family next time.

We loved camping at Camp Moonshadow. It was quite and very clean. The outdoor kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. But we did not use it much because we loved cooking over the campfire. Even so my husband would have loved to have a fireplace right by the tent site but after seeing the site was in the woods he understood. The camp also has a shower house which was great. The shower itself was a little small but it served the purpose. There was also a couple of portable toilets which I usually not like much but Robb and Jeanne kept them pretty clean.
The hosts Robb and Jeanne were been very nice and easy going. They had some different game sites set up, like horse shoe throw, Volleyball court and corn hole game. So we could have played all day long. A lot of attractions were been close by which was great because I did not like to drive far.
We really enjoyed the stay.

The RV site was perfect size for our teardrop camper and car. Robb and Jeanne were very responsive and welcomed us when we arrived. Lots of space to walk our dog, too. And a dog beach close by. The stack of dry firewood was a nice surprise. Perfect location to explore the area.

I LOVED camp moon shadow. They were such awesome hosts! We had beautiful weather while we were there, but we ended up leaving early because my 4yo was tired and it was our first time camping by ourselves. I am definitely coming here again!!!! Super kid friendly. ☺️

Has everything you need for cooking, public campfire, coffee machine, drinking water. Shower is well kept and porta potties are clean with handwashing stations. We were the only campers there so it was super peaceful and awesome.

This was the third time I stayed at Robb and Jeanne's Hipcamp and I think I've loved it more each time. The beautiful trees and the stargazing are what stands out the most. My group had a wonderful time and we will be back!

It was a great weekend camping at Moon shadow camp. There were yard games which the kids enjoyed. The kitchen area and hot showers were perfect. Our camp site was set in amongst the trees and it was peaceful and quiet. We will definitely be back!

Our stay at Moonshadow Camp was wonderful! Robb and Jeannie welcomed us on our first night. You can tell that the hosts are camping lovers themselves from all the thoughtful and run touches reflected in their amenities and the site itself. The community kitchen that they welcomed us to use is so cute and well put together.
