I want to start by saying that Robin was a fantastic host, and was very communicative. The cottage itself was also very cozy and relaxing. With that said, I cannot recommend this Hipcamp.
Good:
Relaxing
Nice decor
Small cabin vibe
The fire pit looked very nice
Some dog friendly options (had poop bags, a small can for poop, etc.)
Bad: The outdoor area was covered in mold. The pool was full of algae and mosquito larvae. There was no pool cover so it was a cesspool. The cloth seating had algae growing on the cushions, the hanging chairs had mold on them, and the hot tub, a feature we were looking forward to, did have a cover, but it was covered in algae. The host did leave a pamphlet saying to call if we wanted the pool or hot tub cleaned, but they were too gross to even consider swimming in. I know it's the beginning of Spring, but those features are prominently advertised in the listing and should be in good condition prior to guest arrival. Also of note we had brought our dogs, but there was no clearly marked area for them to be. Property boundaries were not marked and there were neighbors on all sides, making it easy to trespass. The bedframe was also very squeaky. The biggest issue that I had, however, was a lack of privacy and transparency. The cabin is literally right in the host's backyard. This is not something that the listing was transparent about, and even though the host was very nice I felt uncomfortable with this.
