Peaceful camping with privacy on a 160-acre historic farm! Minutes from Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield and the C&O Canal to name a few. We are within an hour of Gettysburg and within an hour and a half of DC if you're planning a day trip. We have a prime central location with close access to so many things to do. This beautiful property is nestled in a valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable. Please be aware that some may not have great cell service and as noted in the amenity section we do not have WiFi at any of the sites yet. It is something we are looking into for the future. If something is urgent you should be able to pick up WiFi near the tenant house and a password can be provided for you to try.

Peaceful Pond Tent Campsite

Tent site · Sleeps 9
Located beside our fishing pond on a 160-acre historic farm, this is a private campsite for tent campers. Includes a fire ring, 2 picnic tables, a sani pot (maintained and cleaned weekly) and water available from the spicket beside the farmhouse. Views of Elk Ridge Mountain, wetlands and rolling pastures are a part of this experience as well as a variety of birds, deer and other wildlife. Parking is at your campsite (requires driving on dirt/grass road). Previously this was listed as not wheelchair accessible but we took my 88 year old father here and used his wheelchair to get him by the pond so he could fish. The weather and level of assistance one might need can play into this of course. We didn’t have a camping adventure but depending on the individual there is potential for someone in a wheelchair to be able to enjoy this experience. I’m happy to answer any questions or concerns as best as I can about considering this. We offer Highland Adventures and Alpaca Adventures as we’re available. I have an older jeep I take into the pasture with the Highlands and you can get up close and even feed them treats. The Alpaca Adventure is a walking tour in with the Alpaca and you can feed them treats as well. There is a small fee per person for this. We are offering fresh eggs, firewood bundles, charcoal and some snack items. I always enjoy meeting our guests. We look forward to seeing you and being your host. Safe travels!! Kim

"Alpaca Pasture" RV Site

RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 60 ft
This site sits on the back side of the old Dairy Barn facing the West. Looking across a beautiful pasture with Alpacas grazing freely. Our baby, (cria) alpaca is the first baby born at the farm!!! His name is Alexander and he is growing way too fast. He has beautiful, thick white fiber and even though I can’t easily pick him up any longer, he still comes to me and gives me alpaca kisses. His little nose feels like soft velvet when he gently touches the tip of my nose. Beautiful views of the sun setting behind the mountain in the western sky. Enjoy the peace, quiet and gorgeous views while having access to water and electricity for your RV experience. There are plenty of places to walk on the property to enjoy the views and see the Scottish Highlands and Black Angus raised on the farm. There are a variety of birds, hawks, foxes. eagles,(occasionally) deer and other wildlife present as well as the friendly farm cats(don’t feed the cats unless you want them to be hanging around) !! They do get fed but are quite the moochers for food and extra attention.

Barn Sunrise RV Site

Vehicle site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 70 ft
RV site offers hookups for WATER as well as 30 amp and 50 amp ELECTRIC. There is no sewage dumping area on the farm. You'll be staying on a 200 year-old farm beside a former dairy barn (no longer in operation). Parking is off of a private farm lane next to a pasture with Scottish Highland cows and their calves depending on the rotational grazing pattern. Sometimes they are in different fields to allow the grasses to grow and stay healthy for our animals. We also have Alpacas in the pasture behind this site. When parking in this site, pull parallel with the front of the barn and leave the entrance open to get to the back of the barn for the Alpaca Pasture Site. I have such a passion and love for these animals. I currently take our Jeep Grand Cherokee out in the pasture with the Highlands and the Alpacas is a walking tour in with them. Both enjoy getting treats and are so fun to spend time with. When available, I enjoy taking guests on tours for a reasonable fee. If interested in going out to see the Highlands or visiting the Alpacas please let me know. We are also planning to offer photo opportunities in the near future. At the farm you can see beautiful sunrises and sunsets. You will hear animal sounds and see plenty of wildlife. There are many different birds, deer, foxes, turkeys and other wildlife that make for a relaxing view or a great photo op!! Farm activities take place because we are a working farm and you may see a tractor drive by or other equipment related to farming. It is still very quiet and serene. Farm fresh eggs are available (for a fee). We are close to Harpers Ferry, Antietam National Battlefield, the Appalachian Trail, and many other historic, scenic, and recreation sites. Tubing and kayaking is offered nearby. Come enjoy a peaceful stay at our RV sites or Pond camping area. The pond site doesn’t have water or electricity at the site but fresh water is available at the spicket by the house. Generator’s are also allowed. We look forward to meeting new guests and sharing a piece of our beautiful farm with you!! Safe travels!!!
