Hijacked Weekend

My niece goes camping twice a year and I hijacked this fall trip. I selected Yates’ site because of the quiet and tranquil surrounding and we were not disappointed. Tucker, Yates’ cousin, met us at check-in with the sweetest dog. We found site 3 easily and setup went smoothly. Site 3 is shady and offers views of the Patuxent River and a nice swampy area below. Loved the sounds of birds, fox…night life. I wasn’t expecting all the Daddy Long Legs and various other spiders. Thank God my niece was there to save me, lol. We brought our own wood, but there was kindling/small branches at the site that we also took advantage of. We played it forward and left the same for the next camper. I would definitely stay here again, just not at Site 3. I think Site 1 is open without the abundance of trees and prayerfully less bugs.

Yates' farm is beautiful, and the site was private. Finding everything was super easy and the sunrise over the Patuxant river was gorgeous. We'll definitely be back.

Peaceful Dog Heaven

I stayed here with my two dogs and we had such a great time. It’s incredibly peaceful. No traffic noise, no people, just nature. Being able to let the dogs off leash without worrying was AMAZING. They ran around, swam, sniffed everything… they were living their best lives. We explored some of the local hiking spots during the day and did some fishing. At night the sky was unreal. You can actually see the stars and moon without any light pollution. We even saw the international space station. Super quiet at night too—just frogs and wind. Yates, the owner, was really nice. He told me ahead of time that his sons would be driving by early in the morning so I wouldn’t be surprised, which I appreciated. Other than that he totally gave us space and let us do our thing. Overall just a really relaxing, low-stress place to camp. If you want quiet, space, and a chill vibe (especially if you have dogs), this place is perfect. This is going to be my new go-to spot.

This campsite was absolutely beautiful! The self check-in process was quick and easy, and we had no trouble following the map to our site, which had stunning water views. We brought inflatable kayaks and, while the water was a bit shallow during our stay, we were still able to get out and explore. We also enjoyed a lovely walk around the property and met some fellow campers, all of whom were very friendly. The water pump was simple to use, and we really appreciated that firewood was provided. One of the best parts was how well-spaced the campsites were—giving you the option to enjoy privacy and quiet whenever you wanted. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Nice property. Our dog loved it. Stayed at site # 4. Plenty of space on the grass to pitch a large tent and then a serene tree covered hang out with a picnic table and fire pit. We hung a couple hammocks for a relaxing area to read a book and take a nap. As other reviewers have mentioned, pay attention to the tide if you plan to make use of the dock.. there is not much water there at low tide. However at high tide there the water is plenty usable to kayak or paddle board.

Had a great time! Stayed at campsite 4, which was super private and shaded. We picked some berries that were growing in the bushes and went fishing at the dock.

Wonderful host and site! Someone else was at our site when we showed up and Yates was responsive and made sure we had another equally as lovely site to use. He also brought us some firewood for the inconvenience. Thanks, Yates!

Forested perch full of wildlife

We stayed at site #3 “River”. Beautiful private shaded spot perched in the forest overlooking the marsh and river. Riparian wonderland filled with songbirds, hummingbirds, and frogs. Son delighted in seeing a pair of bald eagles soaring high above the campsite. Directions were clear and host responsive when we arrived. Just make sure and bring your own firewood, since none was available upon our arrival, and the woods had a limited supply to scavenge.

Really nice private sites. Our dogs loved it. We were just there for one night and it was rainy so we didn’t get to experience everything the land had to offer, but check-in was easy, the sites were easy to find and the land was beautiful. Thank you for hosting us!

Great campsite, though no firewood

The campsite was great. It was in good condition, good view, and secluded. Only problem I has was that I was promised a bundle of free firewood but there was no firewood available. I messaged the owner and he never replied to me, so if you have a problem with anything he may not respond. Over all though it was a good experience, just a bit misleading.

Great place with water views

Great site! My family and I have been to site #4 twice and we enjoyed both times. Highly recommended for a serene getaway. Like our first visit in late October, we wound up only staying one night instead of the two nights we booked which didn't give much time to enjoy our stay. Next time we'll probably drive back home each night (~45 minutes one way) and plan two full days without having to pitch and pack-up a tent. The site picks up a breeze nicely which is good in the warmer weather. But the fall was better for us because of our seasonal allergies and fewer bugs at night. We had no mosquito bites in May but the nats came to party after sunset which made it harder to cook and eat. We forgot our string lights to hang which might have made a difference because the nats were attracted to our lantern lights. The site has two mostly flat places for a 9-person tent (9'x14' - for three of us) and has room to move about without feeling cramped. We went solar for cooking last year and we were able to charge the batteries (Ecoflow Delta 2 Max) even in the fall. The use of the dirt roads at the farm is a plus and the view of the fields is wonderful. It is an awesome backyard to say the least. We brought our bikes to ride, and tried to fly a kite but there wasn't much wind at the time. I briefly flew my drone to get a few shots. Both times we were the only campers there but even if there were others, the campsites are about 1/4 mile apart which gives privacy and quiet.

Unexpected jewel of a campsite

What I liked - it was far enough from the other campers that I felt like it i was our place. there were ample trees for hammocks. it was peaceful and serene. It was a really quaint, restorative place to spend a night. My hubby wished the kayak access was a little better and that we had planned sound thentides better - but the tides are what they are (and if you don't adhere to them, you may be on the mud, waiting for the water to come in). It was a spur of the moment trip, but we would definitely go again. And the last hi-lite, we got to spend the morning watching a snapping turtle laying eggs - so freaking cool! And, I may have seen DelMarVa squirrel too - not confirmed - but I did see a *huge* squirrel!

Amazing property, very private We enjoyed 3 nights at site 3. Saw & heard lots of birds and even had a visit from a turtle who decided to laying some eggs in front of the log bench.

Very peaceful, very quiet, the view of the Patuxent river from the site is great. Plenty of space back in the trees for a small tent or three, and it is just dense enough to feel like you are isolated in the wilderness. While it's unfortunate that the rain and wind out a damper on the boy's weekend trip with my 3 year old, we still had a good time!

Camping with our dog!

We stayed at Site 4 for two nights, and we’ve never experienced such peace and solitude. Walking around the farm in the early morning and evening was indescribably beautiful—something we’ll never forget. The best part was watching our energetic dog absolutely thrive. He ran freely, explored every scent of nature. It brought us so much joy to laugh and talk without worrying about anyone else around us. We’re already planning to come back this fall. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking true solitude and a deep connection with nature!

Perfect quiet getaway

I just spent an entire wonderful weekend camping at Bald Eagle Farm. The farm is huge and I was tucked away in a woodsy corner surrounded by peak fall foliage. In the distance you could see the Patuxent River. There are two other campsites, but you would never know. This is a perfect getaway if you need a little solitude. My dogs loved running around the huge cornfield! Yates and his son greeted me upon arrival and were warm and friendly . I would 100% come back.
