The Canopy is one of 5 luxurious tiny homes that make up Littlefield Retreat, a tranquil woodland village of 3 treehouses and 2 hobbit houses – each with its own private hot tub and dock. This 15-acre forest retreat on Littlefield Pond offers our guests an experience that feels like a trip up to the woods of northern Maine, but is closer to home and to all the attractions of southern Maine. The space Waking up in your treehouse, the first thing you feel is peace. No traffic, no sirens, no planes flying overhead. Only birdsong—the cry of a loon, the piping of a chickadee. Through the windows, you see only leaves, like green glass, filtering the early morning light. Below you, on the ground, a doe and her fawn pick their way down to the pond. They do not hurry, for there is nothing here to frighten them. Downstairs in the kitchen, coffee is brewing. Your tablet is charging on the windowsill. You could check your email or social media, but for some reason you don’t want the world to intrude. Out on the deck, a warm mug cradled in your hands, you and your partner plan your morning. Perhaps you’ll paddle the kayak across Littlefield Pond while the mist still lies thick on its smooth surface. Or take a fishing pole down to your private dock to catch brook trout for breakfast. Or maybe just soak in the hot tub and listen to the forest awaken. In the afternoon, you sit by the woodstove, engrossed in that book you’ve always meant to read. Your companions are playing a board game at the table, but mostly laughing and talking—about everything and nothing. You look up from your book and smile. For a moment you think about your life back home and ask yourself, “Why do we own so much stuff? Snowy Winter Stay
Luxury Year-Round Treehouse With Private Hot Tub
We had a lovely weekend at Purposely Lost! It snowed the night we arrived, and we spent the morning enjoying beautiful views from the warmth of the treehouse. A path was shoveled for us from the treehouse to our car, and we had no issues driving in or out despite the weather. The hot tub was fantastic, especially in the snow. I booked this location to propose to my partner, and it was the perfect, romantic backdrop for it. We hiked Bauneg Beg Mountain (18 mins away and a sweet 2 mile loop) and had a fantastic dinner at Bandaloop. We also spent an afternoon window shopping in Kennebunkport and grabbed great crepes at Mornings in Paris. The only hiccup was that we booked "The Canopy," but were directed to stay at "The Cliff House." When I reached out, the owners mentioned I was meant to be in the Cliff House, despite my booking confirmation and the review prompt both specifying the Canopy. While the Cliff House was lovely and we had a great stay, it was a bit frustrating to not receive the specific unit we paid for, especially given the price point. Despite the mix-up, the experience was wonderful. I’m still giving this 5 stars and would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a unique getaway!

Luxury Year-Round Treehouse With Private Hot Tub
I could not recommend this place enough. The treehouse itself was beautiful, clean, and in a great location. The outside had amazing views and the dock was a huge plus. I think the best part of the trip was how helpful and caring the staff was. I went up for my 1 year anniversary and they made it even more special by creating a keepsake for us to remember the trip, as well as being very kind and communicative. 10/10 experience, I have already suggested the place to multiple family members and friends.
