A Golden Gem

This place was absolutely one of our favorites! My g/f and our two dogs stayed here for three weeks. Stephen and his sister are the kind of people that make an impact on your life, not only were they extremely accommodating but he was a boatload of information, as we’ve had a couple nightmares just coming to Maine. Our second day there, our toilet broke and he knew someone who could come and fix it immediately. He offers free firewood, free washer, and dryer, free Wi-Fi and there’s also a hot water and cold water Spicket on the side of his garage, that you were allowed to use, and when out toilet broke, his tools were open to us. We have two pretty big dogs, Pitbulls, and to be able to be in a place where they can roam free and not worry about them getting out into the street, and not be leashed, was really great and made us feel like we were at home. This is a very peaceful, great place and definitely one of the places that you want to come back to for many years to come. Not only do you feel like you’re in the middle of no where surrounded by nature but you are actually 10/15 minutes from every possible thing you could need or want to do. A great place to stay with wonderful, accommodating people, and a perfect location to create memories for years to come. Thank you Stephen for all your help and hospitality! We will definitely be back😁

Perfection in Freeport Maine

When I saw the listing for Freeport Fruit & Fields, I thought it was too good to be true, but it was even better! I almost passed on it because at the time of booking there were zero reviews and the calendar was wide open in the middle of summer in a beautiful area. I messaged Stephen and he explained that a traveling nurse had been there longer term. If you find that there aren’t recent reviews or bookings in the future, it may indicate that he’s had another longer-term camper, so don’t let that stop you from booking, you won’t be disappointed!
The site is very easy to navigate, down a long driveway with great privacy, beautiful landscaping and a short drive (around 10 mins) to local sites and restaurants, such as Wolfe’s Neck (nature), Porters Landing (kayaking), Bradbury Mountain State Park (trails) and Freeport Outlets. Great beer and food at Good Fire Brewing.
Full hookup is hard to find and Stephen’s setup worked seamlessly. He even has hot water for an outdoor shower if your rig doesn’t have a heater. The site was level with gravel for the camper and lots of green space. And if you hit it right like we did, you can pick blueberries and raspberries.
Stephen is such a wonderful host and a genuinely nice person. You could tell he really cared about your experience and that he took pride in his little piece of paradise. He was very responsive but never intrusive. I hope to be back again in the future!

Everything You Need & More

As a remote worker who’s been full time on the road for over two years, I’ve stayed at tons of places that really run the whole spectrum and this one is a rare find. I’m absolutely adding this site to my favorites!!
Site: The site is flat, large, beautifully maintained, and has all hookups. There’s a picnic table and fire pit with tons of firewood for guests. The WiFi is strong and great for remote workers.
Property: Nothing like waking up to freshly picked blueberries! If you’re staying in July, it’s a real treat. The rest of the property is large and well maintained which is great for those traveling with dogs. It’s also far off the road so it’s safe for furbabies to roam. My little dog loved exploring. The distance from the main road also means it’s quiet with lots of privacy.
Host: Stephen was lovely! I arrived a little early and his sister greeted me and he later confirmed that I had everything I needed for my stay. I had lots of privacy, but when I sent a message with a question about the electric hookup, he responded quickly and came to help. I felt very welcome and safe.

Happy campers in Freeport!

We have been hipcamping for 2 years now and have met some really wonderful hosts along the way, but we want to give a special shout out to Stephen! He has been the most welcoming host since we reached out with questions prior to reserving the site. He is quick to respond and very informative. We received detailed directions to find the campsite and Stephen was there to greet us when we arrived, making sure we didn't have any questions as we settled in for a few days.
The campsite is just outside of town and tucked away from the main road so there is little traffic noise, if any at all. The site is a level gravel pad on the side of the garage. Stephen offers full hookups for electric, potable hot/cold water, and an RV dump site if needed. He is also the first host we have stayed with who has laundry as an amenity! The washer and dryer are located in the garage with easy access. Another pleasant bonus is the available wifi. We work remotely so wifi with a strong signal is always another welcome amenity for us when traveling. The side and back yard next to the campsite are nicely landscaped and offer privacy with a nice view of the surrounding woods. The site has a picnic table, a firepit with plenty of firewood provided by the host, and was large enough for us to back our van in and park our car.
We can't speak highly enough of Stephen and his campsite. We were fortunate to have stayed during the beginning of blueberry season and would be glad to stay again in the future!

If you’re looking for a peaceful, welcoming place to stay near Freeport, this is it! This was an absolutely phenomenal Hipcamp experience from start to finish.
Stephen is an outstanding host—friendly, gracious, and incredibly thoughtful. Before I arrived, he sent videos showing exactly where to find the driveway and where to park, which made getting settled completely stress-free. The site had full hookups, everything worked perfectly, and he checked in each day to make sure I had everything I needed. As someone who enjoys meeting people, I truly appreciated his kindness and hospitality.
I happened to be visiting during an incredibly intense heat dome, with temperatures reaching nearly 100°F. I work remotely from my camper, and despite running the air conditioner, it simply couldn’t keep up with the extreme heat. Stephen immediately offered the use of his cool, comfortable garage, where my dogs and I were able to escape the heat while I continued my work meetings in complete comfort. That level of generosity and genuine concern for his guests is something you rarely find.
Traveling with multiple dogs can sometimes be challenging, but Stephen was exceptionally accommodating and made all of us feel welcome. It is obvious that he truly cares about the people who stay on his property and wants them to have the best
