Come join us in the beautiful countryside of south-central Kentucky! Enjoy our beautiful pond, perfect for kayaking and relaxing by the water. Two kayaks and life vests are available, with a weight limit of 200 pounds per person. Catch-and-release fishing is planned for the spring. In the evenings, enjoy feeding the catfish and watching them jump and play! For rest and relaxation, settle into our comfortable 2019 Starcraft camper, which sleeps up to four guests. The camper is equipped with water, electricity, electric or propane heating, air conditioning, a propane oven and stovetop, and an electric awning that provides a shaded outdoor space. A Blackstone griddle is also available for cooking burgers and other meals, along with a picnic table where you can sit and enjoy your food. Relax beside the large pond around an outdoor wood-burning fire pit, with seating available for gathering and unwinding. Firewood is available for a small fee. Listen to the sound of horses' hooves as our Amish neighbors travel along the country road, accompanied by the peaceful sounds of frogs, singing birds, and nickering horses. As this is a rural property, you may occasionally see local dogs roaming the area. We also have three very friendly dogs that may wander around from time to time, although they have a fenced yard where they can stay. The scenery changes with the seasons, offering a different countryside experience throughout the year. Depending on when you visit, you might see tractors plowing fields, horse-drawn equipment cutting and baling hay, or large combines harvesting soybeans and corn. There's always something interesting happening in this farming community! Breathe in the fresh country air while taking a peaceful walk along the quiet country road or through the meadow. Guests are also welcome to bring bicycles to explore the surrounding area. There is plenty of room to pitch an additional tent for a $5 fee. Nearby Attractions and Conveniences The property offers convenient access to several attractions, restaurants, and outdoor destinations throughout south-central Kentucky. • 10 minutes: Local dollar store for everyday essentials. • 15 minutes: Buc-ee's and Bluegrass Winery in Smiths Grove. • 20 minutes: Glasgow, Kentucky. • 25 minutes: Scottsville, Kentucky. • 30 minutes: Bowling Green, home to the National Corvette Museum, Bowling Green Ballpark, and Beech Bend Park. Enjoy attractions such as drag racing, car shows, amusement park rides, swimming pools, and a lazy river. • 45 minutes: Nolin Lake and Barren River Lake. • 60 minutes: Mammoth Cave National Park and Green River Lake. • 2 hours: Nashville, Tennessee, and Louisville, Kentucky. You'll also find a variety of restaurants in the surrounding area to satisfy just about any craving. Whether you're looking for a peaceful weekend getaway, a relaxing stay beside the pond, or a comfortable base for exploring Kentucky's natural attractions, our countryside retreat offers a welcoming place to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of rural life. Please note: When exploring the surrounding area, drive carefully and watch for horses and buggies sharing the roads.
