That site was amazing! Everything was actually as stated in the description including the very clean port a potty. Mike was great on answering all our questions and offering some suggestions on areas to visit. If going to the Yellowstone area this is definitely the place to stay! Thanks Mike for helping make this a truly remarkable adventure for us!

Mike was a great host and the camp site was exactly as advertised. We used RV site 1 and it was far enough away from the other camp sites so it was peaceful and quiet.
Great experience over all and highly recommend.

It was a great place to camp. Close to anything you could want a good restaurant, fishing, and hiking were all close and great to do. Seen deer, moose, and lots of fish.

We really enjoyed our stay at Camp Steelhead. It is easy access for campers with a truck and trailer. The camp spot was very clean and private.

We were hauling to get there before sunset so I could setup And suddenly a rainbow appeared as we were turning onto Rainbow Dr. How pretty!
We loved site #1. Its a little closer to the road than site 2, but its right next to a giant wood stack. There are two great spots for a hammock (15 and 13 ft between trees).
We loved the stumps for sitting around the fire so we didn't have to unpack our folding chairs. The picnic table was perfect as well.
We camped in a bit of rain, but the grass drains well and nothing was soggy.
Mike was quick to reply. The site is in a neighborhood of some homes, some trailers, some motor homes, but we didn't mind. And right off Phillips is a gas station that I found very convenient for gas and ice.
This site got us to Old Faithful in about an hour and 20 mins, and to the paint pots in just over an hour I think. But most of the drive into the park is so pretty you don't even notice you're on a drive.
We also did Bridger Teton and that was only about 2.5 hours drive to get to Jenny Lake.
Oh! And there is a town between here and Yellowstone with a store called Eagle Curios which is open until midnight with souvenirs and clothes and ICE CREAM until midnight. Which is a life saver when returning back from a long day of hiking and a bit of drive.

Site two has a nice green grass area right beside it, nice and clean, some nice overflow parking, beautiful wild flowers, fresh water and electric with access to a portapotti. Directions were easy to follow, and parking area with easy to maneuver in. We were away and the host stopped by to introduce himself but unfortunately we were out exploring! Will look forward to booking again.

The site was secluded, no noisy neighbors or high traffic. Plenty of firewood to last us our stay. Great area for an RV or setup a tent, would recommend

This is my second go around at site two. Water availability and power is very convenient, as well as grabbing firewood as needed. Mike does a great job of communicating and you simply can’t beat the access to the buffalo river and island park in general. See ya next year steelhead camp!

Mike's camp was great. We were in Site1. A camp spot in the woods without all the crowds of an RV park. The camp was clean and spacious and has a nice lawn for kids or dogs to play on. Mike was super helpful offering suggestions for hikes and things to see and do. Note that the river is not super close, but not a hard walk to get there. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

We enjoyed our experience - plenty of room for the 5th wheel and two tents. The grassy area was nice for playing games, letting the kids run around, etc. Good location for accessing other activities. We were in Site 1.

Camp Steelhead was great! Easy to find and get to. Water and firewood was easy to access. Our site was extremely sunny in the morning… site 2 had much more shade. Beautiful land and had everything we needed.

Buffalo River Landing
There’s not much to say the beauty of this space speaks for itself. I was incredibly impressed just how well put together the space was laid out and the view, unique. Needless to say it was worth every moment spent here and I would absolutely return. The host was super attentive and ready to help. Loved this site the most since I’ve joined Hipcamp a few years ago!

Site is only about 30 minutes from the West Yellowstone entrance, which is fantastic. Electric and water hookups worked fine, and the portapotty was very clean. Host was kind enough to bring some dry firewood after we received some snow and rain over a couple of days, which was very considerate. Site was very quiet (We had it to ourselves) for the first 4 days, but once Friday hit, it became quite a bit noisier and busier. Granted, this was the Friday before Memorial Day. Several ATV’s and dirt bikes going up and down the road right next to the site. Once the weather began to warm up, there were some mosquitoes, so bring bug spray. Overall it was a good experience and we would definitely consider the site again should we visit Yellowstone.

I can’t say enough good things about Island Park, Idaho’s Site #1 – our stay was absolutely fantastic!
The site was easy to find with Google Maps guiding us straight from Route 20. Upon arrival, we encountered a minor issue with the electricity, but Mark quickly came to the rescue and had it sorted in no time. After settling in, we took a short walk around the site, and we were impressed by how clean, well-maintained, and secluded it felt – a true escape with a sense of safety.
The porta-potty was spotless and stocked with toilet paper (although I’d recommend bringing your own just in case, as the dampness can affect it). Making a fire was easy with the wood provided, adding to our stay's charm.
The location couldn’t have been more convenient – only 22 miles from the West Entrance of Yellowstone and within walking distance to the local lake, a restaurant (The Pines), and a liquor store. Overall, this site exceeded our expectations and was one of the best we could have chosen. Will we go again? Absolutely!

Mike is putting together a real nice Hipcamp, we would definitely stay again. We stayed in our 35' Fifth Wheel and had plenty of room. We stayed in space 1 and it was definitely the best choice for a larger RV. Be sure to walk to the river, it's beautiful.

We loved our stay at Camp Steelhead! It was the perfect location with lots of space and great amenities. Very clean bathroom! The trail to the river was so beautiful and the river spot at the end was incredible! Our dogs had the best time swimming. We would definitely come back!

This was a beautiful, quiet and spacious site! Great location as only 30 minutes from Yellowstone west entrance. The stream just 10 minutes walk away was an added bonus! Crystal clear and great for a cool down. Good communication with the host and nice to have firewood on site. 100% recommend

Great site close to the buffalo river. We had four moose roll right by our site and caught more brook trout than we could handle. The firewood situation is very convenient and having power is always a plus. Thanks again Mike, we’ll be back.

We loved this spot and will definitely be back!
The campground was well taken care of, and the firewood was so convenient. The river is close by and was perfect for our dogs and kids to swim in.
Because of how beautiful this spot is, this was our first year where we chose to spend time at our campsite instead of in Yellowstone the whole time.

We loved that fact that the site was a round about so made it easy to park our camper how we wanted. Great, private location, close to lakes and town. Best part is that West Yellowstone was only 30 min away. Definitely will back here.
