Incredibly special place. I could have spent two weeks here easily. Kevin's spot was an unexpected highlight of our one month trip across Colorado. Epic stargazing at night.
Note: I'd arrive a during daylight if you're not used to driving dirt roads after dark. Google maps led us a bit astray.

Ok so we aren’t the type of campers that need a host- literally we could get to a place and not see a single person and be completely fine. BUT we did have an exceptionally great experience with Kevin- he should get the host of the year award! He responded well to our questions about the area and while we were there he brought us water for our showers and campfire wood. The land is captivating- peaceful and beautiful!

Beautiful property and beautiful ride to the campsite. Very remote and peaceful. Since it's so remote with out cell service I would recommend downloading the directions and screen shooting the written instructions from the host before hand because you will not be able to access them about 20 to 30 outside the camp and inside the camp.
But well worth the drive in the Gunnison national Forest.

The sites have a good amount of spacing so you didn’t feel like you were on top of your camp neighbors. Kevin was incredibly helpful and generous with his time. Would recommend this spot, easy to enjoy the hikes and water nearby or drive only about an hour to bigger towns.

We stayed at campsite 2- it was a great location tucked back. You could see site 1 from there but you could not hear anyone so it was just far enough away.
There were trees and bushes nearby but did not provide much shade so would definitely recommend bringing a canopy for shade. The views were beautiful, stars were stunning, and it backed up to Gunnison National Forest and was a mile walk to the reservoir which was fun for our dog. Would definitely stay here again!

Was not able to make it there and thought we’re were going to then it didn’t happen etc. I felt sooo bad for the back and forth (on OUR part) but Kevin was completely understanding and accommodating. I can’t wait for the chance to check out his property in the future. 👍

Beautiful, remote site. It’s definitely off the beaten path but absolutely worthwhile. Our dogs had the best time running around and we had such a good weekend in solitude. Kevin have great directions and was very prompt.

From the second we booked our campsite, Kevin was nothing but helpful! He gave us recommendations and kindly offered to meet us on the main road and guide us to the campsite to make sure we had no trouble finding it! Due to unforeseen circumstances, we ended up having to change plans last minute and he was very understanding. We look forward to making it to Kevin's peaceful, beautiful campsite in the future!

The property was very remote and quite. I was pleasantly suprised by all the prairie dogs that the property was home to. I sadly only stayed one night I wish I had the chance to stay longer 10/10 hope to stay again.

This was an amazing place to stay. Kevin went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. He even brought me back ice from town! We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the seclusion. Our campsite was surrounded by wildflowers which added another layer of beauty. The reservoir was a quick 5 minute drive from the camp spot. Would definitely recommend!

sweet spot. easy access to the reservoir via back entrance. fished a lot and caught trout. camp site was remote and spacious - great for my dog to play fetch and run around. would definitely come back to this site. Kevin is a great host

If you’re looking for dispersed camping , this is the spot . Within sight of the continental divide , this place was off the hook . Zero light and noise was the best. Getting to see the Milky Way , like a picture. And last but not least Kevin is a very cool dude , took care of our wood and anything else we needed. We even shared a couple beers fireside . My family and I said was best part of our Colorado trip!

Kevin’s little piece of heaven was a great surprise! Beautiful views, wonderful little creek, easy access to public ground for hikes and amazing star gazing. I was able to actually see the Milky Way at night. Be ware zero cell service so make sure you have directions figure out before heading out. You also cross a couple closed gates on way to his property so don’t let that slow you down.

Kevin’s land is so peaceful and surrounded by national forest. There was so much space and Kevin provided firewood, potable water and took care of our trash as well as told us about the area! You can hear the creek from the site and Needle Creek reservoir was just down the road. We explored Gunnison, Blue Mesa Reservoir, went rafting and enjoyed the stunning star filled skies at night. The text directions to find his land were spot on too. Kevin was the most gracious host and we can’t wait to come back! Pro tip: Given all the rain we would recommend some bug spray and citronella candles or incense along with your campfire. This is the best Hipcamp we have ever stayed at by far!

We loved camping here! These sites are huge and great for large groups. We were a crew of three families and we had an enormous amount of space. Super close to the reservoir where we fished and paddle boarded. Awesome dirt bike trails and fun and challenging mountain bike trails accessible right from the site. Very beautiful and quiet. Kevin met us upon our arrival, showed us the spot and loaded us up with firewood. Other folks were camping on the property but we couldn’t see or hear them. A great get-away.

Found this spot last minute while driving through Gunnison. Kevin was extremely responsive and personally directed us to the site. The sites are beautiful and secluded. We will definitely be returning! Excellent location to unwind and enjoy quiet.

Beautiful views and great spot in the valley. Kevin was a great host — accommodated our last minute request to push back our stay by an a night due to stormy weather, which meant we had lovely weather. Also made sure we were taken care of with water and logs for a campfire.

We really enjoyed the scenic and remote location! Needle Creek Reservoir was a hidden gem. We fished 2 hours and caught our limit of two fish per adult. Three rainbow trout and one brown. Roads were muddy after a few thunderstorms but our Rivian truck handled them great, even pulling a small trailer. We also hiked a good bit - a real come-backer.

Kevin is such an excellent and thoughtful host. He met us so he could show us where our site was. We loved the campsite. It was near the creek and far enough away from other campers that we felt like we were getting away from it all. Our dogs had a blast running around. The reservoir is close enough to walk to and we had a lovely hike on a nearby trail. Thank you Kevin! And thank you for providing wood for our fire.

We decided to camp last minute on a holiday weekend and Kevin’s property was the perfect fit! Getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city to come relax and enjoy some nature was amazing. Kevin was a great host and always went above and beyond to make sure we were doing well. We were a little short on wood and he made sure to stop by and bring us some. The property is also VERY beautiful and relaxing. Although there were other campers nearby everyone was super respectful and quiet. Seriously can’t say enough great things about our stay. Perfect place for families as the terrain is kid friendly. My toddler and dogs loved hanging in the grass and walking to the reservoir nearby.
10/10 highly recommend and will be coming again.
