We stayed in the car camping area at Idaho Springs RV Resort & Campground while passing through, and overall had a good experience. The car camping section is essentially a parking-lot style setup, but each space was large enough to comfortably fit a bigger vehicle, and you do have the option to add electric which is nice if you need it. None of the spots are perfectly level, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re car camping or sleeping in your vehicle. That said, the main reason we stopped was to shower and get some rest, and the bathhouse was great; clean, hot showers, and well maintained with a coded door so you feel safer inside. For $30, it worked well for what we needed. It was a safe place to park, sleep, and refresh before getting back on the road. If you’re traveling through the area and need a simple overnight stop with good facilities, it’s a solid option.

Convenient location, great bathrooms and showers.
It's a small parking lot. Depending on how busy it is you may be on a bit of a slope or you may be able to get one of the level spots. They are normal parking space size so perfect for vans.

This place is an absolute gem. They have everything you could ever need propane, water, dump station, everything appears to be new and everything works. The owners seem to take pride in the place. This is a definite must stop if you're looking for a place to camp.

Awesome couple of nights! This is just a parking spot…but it was a nice place to park and camp after skiing. The added bonus of having very nice (and clean) showers and restrooms made this a great spot. Highly recommend! I’ll definitely be back!

I almost don’t want to write a review as it feels like a secret spot. If the owners are reading this, keep my prices the same. ;)
I really can’t say enough good things about this place. I’m five months into a year long van life with my wife and two kids. I needed a break from the big city life AND in-laws during the holidays. I just happened to come across this like (as the miners say): follow the quartz line and ride the iron horse.
Anyways, I did struck gold: clean showers and bathrooms, hot water, nice spot in nature, and convenient to both Loveland and Indian Hot Springs. I snowboarded, soaked, and solo van life’d it here. I couldn’t be happier with my 4 days and three nights. :)

The owner was very responsive. Loved the warm shower and bathroom. Very easy access to the freeway. We were just passing through and we would stay there again.

Van camped for an overnighter. The hosts were very accommodating, and gave a whole discount leaflet for places in town! Bathrooms were super clean! Great spot.

Staff couldn't have been more accommodating and very pleasant to talk to. Always waved or said hello and made us feel very welcomed. Instructions of how to check in if after hours end very easy. Thank you for making our first hip camp experience a good one. Will highly recommend Idaho Springs to friends and family.

This spot was great for a quick overnight if you don't mind some noise from the road - it's very close to I-70. for me it was great since I was just car camping overnight and sleep pretty soundly. Waking up to the foggy mountains was amazing. The bathrooms are great!

The friendliness of staff myself and husband had spoken with, very accommodating as well, even since we were checking in late. There's the traffic you hear, but the clean and nice bathrooms, showers and the grounds out weigh the light noise from the highway you hear at times. We will continue to stay there when up that way and recommend to others.

Just the way the host indicated, which is always nice. Clean bathrooms, it's a tad close quarters, so would say it's more of a perfect spot for a short stop. Location could not be better. Will certainly be back

The hospitality was great! Owners were very accommodating. The on-site showers , bathrooms and convenience store was clean and well kept..
We stayed in a tent attached to an suv.
I'm sort of a light sleeper and hwy 70 is quite close by, which produced a constant hum of traffic nearly all night long.
If you're in an RV or enclosed vehicle perhaps the noise would not be an issue. But for me, I would have to find something quieter in order to get a decent night's sleep.

It was a great place, the bathrooms and showers were amazing. Even being near road it was quite. The staff were very helpful especially since we checked in during a rain and hail storm. I would stay here again.

Very friendly hosts if ya run in to them, otherwise, the lighting was perfect to sleep in at night, you could hear the highway traffic and heard sirens twice throughout the night but that’s a given when you’re right off a major highway but it’s almost like white noise if youre in to that kind of thing with the traffic. I would definitely return and recommend to anyone this location!

Very friendly owner, we knew we’d be coming in late from a long drive and leaving early so we just needed a quiet, safe place to stay. This place was great. The showers and facilities were unbelievably nice. Photos don’t do it justice. I would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Was out first real foray in car camping, great place for it. Noise from interstate was barely noticeable, few hundred feet from being in the creek. Showers were great and appreciated.
