Such a special spot - highly recommend staying here! Thomas is a very interesting person and generously shared his knowledge. The Hole in the Wall is pretty magical and the site itself was also beautiful - loved the raised platform under the trees - ample shade and a nice spot to do some yoga and stretching! It was busy over the weekend but so quiet and tranquil during the week.
Dont be like me - read the instructions carefully before you arrive! I got lost for over an hour - follow the instructions to the Hole in the Wall (GPS coordinates got me extremely lost). Cheers and enjoy!

What an experience camping on this land. Thomas is such a friendly host, sharing his knowledge of all the plants, history, and special spots on the river with us! Everyone living on this property was very nice and welcoming. The river is an exceptional treat in this remote and wild area. Absolutely loved our stay!

The Hideaway at the Hole in the Wall is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t your average camping spot. Nestled deep in a forested paradise, the location is incredibly picturesque—towering trees, peaceful surroundings, and an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.
But what really took the experience to the next level was the host, Thomas. He absolutely exceeded all expectations. Friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, Thomas made us feel right at home while also giving us the space to soak in the serenity of the place. It’s rare to find someone who cares this much about ensuring their guests have a memorable experience.
And then there’s the swimming hole—wow. Crystal-clear water, surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of the forest, it felt like something straight out of a movie. It was the perfect spot to cool off, relax, and connect with nature.
If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with unbeatable scenery and a host who goes above and beyond, The Hideaway at the Hole in the Wall is it. Can’t recommend it enough—we’ll definitely be back.

We had such a wonderful time here! Thomas was super communicative and created such a nice experience for us at the camp. We went on a guided tour with him of the surrounding creeks and waterfalls where he taught us so much about the native plants and history of the area - would definitely recommend adding that to your experience! The site itself was perfect for what we needed, the outdoor shower was an awesome bonus! We’ll definitely be back :)

It's a beautiful place surrounded by nature. It's perfect for connecting with nature and recharging your batteries. The hosts make you feel comfortable and are attentive if you need anything. The river is beautiful next to the campsite and perfect for taking great photos. Totally recommended.

This is a super unique spot! The river/stream that runs through it is absolutely beautiful. You have to walk down a little trail to get to the water.
The guys who live on site live completely off grid, which I think is cool. They were super helpful and responded to our messages in a timely manner.
The wifi is weak but good enough for our purposes. There is a lot of random stuff on the property, so as a parent, I don't think it would be the best place for a little one who likes to get into everything. Also, the campsites are close to the cliff above the river.
Shower was hot.
They provided fresh spring water.
Being close to the water, there are TONS of mosquitoes. Bring repellent & wear long sleeves.
The trail down to the water I believe has quite a bit of poisonous plants, so be on the lookout. Look up poison oak/ivy etc if you're unsure of what that looks like.
I definitely want to go back to explore the area further!

We had a really good time at the campground and the hosts are truly good men. The site is nice and clean, and that secret path down to the Hole in the Wall was a fun experience. The river is magical, although cold ;) Fire pit is well made and the wood is provided. The outdoors shower is awesome, hot water. The host also recommended to visit a local bar The Peg, which was another cool experience: great food, people and live music.
There are only two things: I think it would be nice to have a heads up about the mosquitos in the evening so we could prepare accordingly. And the porta potty was, well, too full to be comfortable to use. But generally I recommend a stay here, we had good time.

Our stay at The Hideway at Hole in The Wall was wonderful! The site was spacious and peaceful. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the nearby swimming hole, we also loved that it was pet friendly.

Booked last minute and was really impressed as we didn't know what to expect. This is on Thomas’ property who greeted us even with our late arrival being about 9ish Friday night. Walked us to our site and talked with us a short bit. Told us he has dogs on the property that do roam and an added bonus we did get to meet the cat as well. Sites are about 20-30 feet apart with benches and fire pits. Our camp site had a large fire pit and a tire swing. They had a shower, dish washing station, water refill station and the cleanest port-o-pottys I have ever seen. Highly recommend this site. The hole in the wall swimming hole is not on the grounds but is a minute drive away to park and a 5-10 minute quick walk down to the water. The pictures on the site are exactly how it looks. You will mot be disappointed.

Fanatic find, super friendly hosts. You CAN have fires there and there IS potable water. Make sure to check out the hole in wall while you are there! The mosquitoes get bad at dusk but it’s only for about an hour, bring bug spray and you’ll be good. Also you can totally drive your car over the bridge if you don’t want to carry stuff/have your car at your campsite ⛺️

A very nice campground next to Highway 101, directly above the hole in the wall. The driveway is a bit hard to find, down the gravel road and over the wooden bridge. The campsite is a real insider tip. Highly recommended, but only for smaller RVs

We first arrived and things seemed little rough around the edges but these guys just getting off the ground . Really enjoyed meeting the guys involved and access down below to epic swimming holes is perfect . They are improving things even while there so would go back and my young son loved it

Absolutely loved staying here!! The owners were super caring and made sure we had everything we needed. The site was also gorgeous with lots to explore. I would definitely recommend as I will definitely be going back!

Do not take Bell Springs Road!
The hipcamp is across the street from Tan Oak park off a short gravel road drive.
Once you arrive, you may meet the owner & his dogs along the drive. Follow the blue arrows to multiple camp sites with a picnic table, smokeless firepit & gravel parking at each site. We use levelers, but it was already pretty flat.
There is a waterfall next to the sites & you are generally located at the back of the traditional Hole in the Wall swim site. About a 5 minute drive to the walking trail to the swim site.
Overall, it's a new site with room to grow but it's quiet, well maintained & dog friendly 🐾
