OrangeRay, home of Pixie's Place Animal Sanctuary & Hospice was founded in 2007, when I left L.A. for the forest by the river to create, and to expand my shamanic pursuits. Being that Three Rivers was home to the socialist Kaweah Colony in the 1800's; which helped in the founding of Sequoia National Park; the area is rich in history. Poet John Muir was enchanted and inspired by this area; Walt Disney fell under her spell as well when he envisioned a "Swiss Chalet" style resort which never came to fruition. The water wars of California began right here; gold rush...right here! "Kaweah" is the name given by the Indians for the sound the Crow makes. Three Rivers literally sits on slabs of quartz crystal, making rock hunting superb! As an energy practitioner, the quartz heightens the healing process; as well as creating an energy vortex. My property sits on an area that was once an Indian village, and then the school house for the children of the pioneers. There was a huge Hare Krishna Colony up here in the 60-70's. As a photographer and filmmaker, the lighting up here is amazing! The night skies literally pulsate with their celestial canopy. A great spot to sky watch as well! The property is not kid-friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. WE ARE 420 friendly which is in opposition to most "family" landscapes....so please note this is not personal but I prefer no children xo Also, I prefer no pets, as it disrupts the balance here with the animal residents :)We are "Pixie's Place Animal Sanctuary & Hospice", a non-profit 501.(c)(3) Trust for the Animals who live here. (PLEASE READ :) I'M SORRY BUT I CANNOT OFFER EXCEPTIONS; THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING) Greetings Nature Lovers! We had an amazing 1st season, filled with amazing peeps who all contributed to making us lucky #12 in Cali! (We also have a 2nd seasonal listing: 12 x 12 TiPi). First, I'd like to Thank all of the Hipcampers whom have chosen to make us part of their travels and journey! A BIG thank you, for all the love and respect you brought with you here; all the yummies shared with the animals; the many treasures you gifted me, including just with your presence; but most importantly, all the little special touches that you felt compelled to leave behind for your fellow Hipcamper's next to visit! You've all warmed my heart, and make me proud of what beautiful humans you are! ...and why I ALWAYS say: I HAVE THE BEST HIPCAMPERS!!!! You guys rock, and big love from me to you! xo We are so grateful to have visitors who not only care about nature, but also the animals; many who come for that reason…to support the animals at Pixie’s Place. Our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible, so you feel like you're visiting friends/family. This is not a party house, it's not a playground or park. We offer a spiritual communion with animals and nature :) Energetically speaking, this area is an energy vortex, with Native American Indian spirits tied to the history of the land. The river bed is slabs of quartz and granite, making the river and my property a very healing experience. UFO’s frequently inhabit the pulsating canopy of night sky. Shamanic Healing sessions are available to book. Please feel free to message me with questions, or requests :) (Important for me to know your ETA so that I'm sure to be here to guide you around and introduce you to the animals :) I look forward to making your experience as special as you are! shaman Wendi We are a 420 friendly, artist/writer/shamanic/Hipcamp retreat.  (We also offer a Quantum Healing Shamanic Retreat, which is available to city dwellers through. We are located at the entrance to Sequoia Nat'l Park/Lake Kaweah, in the village of Three Rivers, CA (Central Cali; between Bakersfield (1 hour and 40 min) and Fresno (1 hour and 10 min.); 30 min up the hill, above Visalia). 3 hours N.E. from L.A. (IGNORE GPS FROM SO CAL IF IT TELLS YOU TO TAKE THE 5 TO THE 99 TO THE 65. CORRECT DIRECTIONS ARE: 5 TO THE 99 TO 198/VISALIA AND TAKE IT STRAIGHT UP THE HILL PAST THE LAKE. AS YOU ENTER THREE RIVERS, THE 198 BECOMES 198/SIERRA DR. THIS WILL TAKE YOU RIGHT TO OUR STREET JUST AFTER YOU ENTER 3R).  (ANOTHER THING TO NOTE: GPS AND THE INTERNET DO NOT PICTURE MY HOUSE WHEN YOU ENTER MY ADDRESS, IT'LL SHOW YOU THE HOUSE JUST PAST MY HOUSE SO BE AWARE). This listing offers: 1956 11 ft Aluminum "Rainbow" Trailer available for 2 people, with access to the Chalet toilet. Please note: ONLY ONE-TWO people (no pets allowed inside) as it is a 63 year old trailer, I like to treat her gently...lol. The quaint trailer sits within a permaculture garden at the front of the property, closer to the road; however it is very private, and subdued. There is a Chiminea to cook with or to enjoy sitting in front of for warm when needed. There is an assortment of vintage garden furniture to create a fun outdoor living space! In addition to the Shamanic Retreat, we offer a camping spot down in a lower area on the 3/4 of an acre property (see listing for details). The main chalet sits above, with a corral and Sanctuary Reading shed in between. The South Fork of the Kaweah River is at the back of the property with a very "sweet" swimming hole to enjoy as long as the water is flowing down the river as it is seasonal depending on drought conditions. However, mid May-late June it's perfect! I limit the activity here by having only 2 listings; limited to a total of 4 total guests on the property possible between the two listings. The property is not kid friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. WE ARE 420 friendly which is in opposition to most "family" landscapes....so please note this is not personal but I prefer no children xo Also, I prefer no pets, as it disrupts the balance here with the animal residents :) If interested, ask me to screen the New Media/Experimental film I made which screened at London at Cinema Magic. The animals of Pixie's Place were actors in the film, along with many of the scenes filmed here. We set up a projector to screen outside if weather permits :)  Everything works a little bit like a bed and breakfast; a non pretentious environment that supports the animals, self healing; and the enjoyment of sharing this sacred spot I have created. There is a camping stove & grill available for campers to use, along with Chimineas for a fire (when Fire Bans are not in place). Plenty of wood to harvest on property or the Village Market up the road. Be sure to provide your own propane (Coleman 16 oz camping canister) as there is currently none available up here. Also, be sure to bring your own drinking water. Feel free to invest in the vegetable garden; help yourself to any available fruit, as well as the abundant fresh Rosemary & Lavender. (Be aware that I don't offer public use of my only shower). Your bookings support the animals whom you can interact with.  We have "Pixie Emelia Aurora" aka "Pea" our mascot; a 10 year old Nubian goat. Siddartha Cloudwalker a Nigerian Dwarf, along with his son, Sage Lyrid Ray, born here on Earth Day 2012! Bowie the 1 year old Buck, along with twin sisters: Vela & Thea....and new rescue goat Casper. We have a family of bunnies, and ducks: Dr. Seuss & Dr. Spock...our Quackers! There are many cats, who each have their stories of how they found their way to Pixie's Place, including horses: bad boy mustang "Hermes Inyo Ray" , along with new rescue: quarter horse "Lyra". We take on who we can; assuring all creatures a place they can live, be loved and accepted for their "issues" until the cross the rainbow bridge xo I am an animal communicator, artist and shamanic practitioner: crystal sound healing, and soul coaching (BMI recording artist; SAG member) Thank you for being a part of this journey! Vintage Rainbow Garden
This was such a great experience. Wendi is the kindest and most genuine soul you’ll ever meet, I know i’ve made a life long friend! She honestly made my trip to sequoia so much better, her home gave me the peace I was looking for. I also recommend her healing sessions! Definitely recommend staying if you’re looking for a place to relax after a long day of hiking :)

Wonderful experience
I loved everything about this hipcamp. We were well taken care of by Wendi, who made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She was also so friendly, and I just loved talking with her. Cats everywhere, but there are also goats, chickens, bunnies, and ducks. The weather was coincidentally cold and rainy during our trip, but we still had the best time. I can’t recommend this site enough.

Dream weekend
Wow, what an excellent spot. Originally came here because of how close it is to sequoia — 10 min from the entrance — but this Hipcamp made a big impression on me and I wish I could have stayed longer. This little camper was so charming and cozy. Slept like a baby and kept totally warm on a cold weekend. Undoubtably the highlight of this Hipcamp is the host, Wendi. She has such a great spirit and she was so open and welcoming. Fun to chat and hang out and learn about her beautiful property and share about our lives! Truly this property is curated to explore and wander to notice all these fun details and decorations. Became buddies with one of the cats too! I highly recommend this spot to anyone :)

If you’re an artist looking for sanctuary from the crazy woahs of life, booking this camper will bring you to a small oasis far away from the regular world. The river side view brought much peace to my evens after multiple days of extensive hiking of multiple local trails.

Most inviting stay near Sequoia
Wendi is a gracious and very welcoming host. She has such a warm and kind presence. Her property is a darling and unique haven with charming animals too! We had a great time staying in the camper and highly recommend for solo or couple travelers. It was convenient for our day adventures to Sequoia National Park and nearby nature.

Vintage Rainbow Garden
Camping at Rainbow Garden was such a nice experience and we would definitely do it again! The ambiance of the trailer inside and out was so comforting and made us feel at home. The property is also very lovely and the river in the backyard is nice to hang out by! But most of all, Wendi is a very kind and accommodating host. She did such a good job in making sure we had everything we needed and is one of the coolest people you’ll meet. We had a great stay and can’t wait to go back!
