Tent # 2 - At the Heart
My host move us to tent 3 with our permission, the tent # 3 is a little dusty. Bed is very uncomfortable, bad for people who has bad issue like us.
I like the place with kitchen but since it is a community kitchen people did not clean after use.
Shower room has 6 slots but only able to use one at a time,
I enjoy the morning whether there, but can not be survive with out big tree shade.
Enjoy eating breakfast on the desk

Heartland Collective is Awesome!
Heartland Collective was a wonderful experience in so many ways. A beautiful piece of land with a gorgeous lake, unique art & sculptures, and very comfortable canvas bell tents.
The owners and working volunteers were all very warm and welcoming to myself and my 9-year old daughter. We both felt very comfortable and relaxed right from the start of our 3-night stay.
The lake was blissful! We spent hours every day swimming and reading books next to the water. The bed in our canvas bell tent was so comfortable and there are nice small touches everywhere, both within our tent as well as across the entire property. I was pleasantly surprised and grateful for the outdoor kitchen access that was included. The rates are beyond reasonable for all that is here to experience and to relax into.
We can't wait to go back!

A great place to retreat
Our group (4 adults and one dog) truly enjoy the Heartland. The view is spectacular, you see the lake no matter what site you chose. I chose tent # 3. My friends chose # 4. I love mine (#3) for being a little bit further away and on a hill so we got to see a really nice, higher view.
I love the convenience of having a commercial shared kitchen. No one was there so it was almost for our entire group. They provided a gas stove , grill, pots, pans, woks, plates, cups, bowls. There is a grill so you can do a BBQ but we didn't . The place is kept clean and both Anders and Shama and their team were very friendly, helpful, thoughtful, making sure we got everything we need and yet giving us a privacy.
We orders 2 dozens of fresh eggs to make breakfast and lunch for our group. It was fun to see chicks and got to enjoy fresh eggs in the morning.
I love that they provided varieties of things we can enjoy i.e. swing, a place to simply lay down and meditate, hammocks.
We got to use the outhouses which was a new experience for some of us. Not a problem at all. The lake is not too far, a nice short walk with my senior dog. He loved seeing other animals playing in the lake.
Our group love the Heartland Collective. We definitely will return, probably in Spring when the weather is a bit cooler.
Thanks Anders and Shama. You have done a great job taking great care of your land and you helped everyone felt welcomes, comfortable and belong :)

It was peaceful and calm throughout the day and everything was there that you needed. The lake was a close walk. Shama, Justin and Joel were all very kind. We will be returning.

Best hipcamp yet! Amazing host, super friendly, available, and loves to teach. We camped with our two year old who had so much fun exploring and checking out the lake. The property felt very safe for her to wander supervised. She got to pet one of the chicken and followed them all over the yard.
The property is a burner paradise with cool metal sculptures. It’s also set up to host any kind of event. We may be back with 100 friends do host an electronic event!!!

Everything was great! The directions were clear. The tent was perfect. They had unoccupied tents and gave us an option to choose the one to our liking. The place was magical! Art and very original things to experience. Lake access was easy and we had a blast kayaking. It was all around a beautiful place, very down to earth low key hidden gem. Both Anders and Shama were super nice and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

What a slice of heaven this spot is! Gorgeous setting, friendly hosts, and easy for young families to enjoy. We were two families with young children and chose to stay in tents 1&2 so we could be close together. The platforms were super nice and the tents we extremely spacious and comfortable. It was a hot weekend so we mostly enjoyed playing and swimming in the water.

We miss Heartland already!
Not only was the campground serene and beautiful, but the community Shama and Anders have created there is nothing like I’ve ever felt before, like a home away from home where you are part of the family. You must go on the tour! Seeing the whole of Heartland and learning about the intention that’s poured into each space took the whole experience to another level. The infini-pod was a relaxing break from the world and getting to meet the chickens was so cool, farm fresh eggs are totally worth it! This was by far the most refreshing and renewing camping experience I’ve had, you’ll never want to leave!

Off the Grid Chase!😉
This was our first camping/glamping trip ever!
Location 📍: Getting there from south of sacramento wasn’t too bad. We followed what our host said which is to gps to Auburn then gps to the loaction that routes you the fastest way. We manage to arrive safe and no hassle taking about an hour to Aubrun to Heartland. Drive slow when you hit the dirt road it gets pretty bumpy. You know you’re almost there once you see a gate that has their label “Heartland Collective”.
The camp tent#3🏕 : Once we arrived we greeted at the gate. If no ones there you can help yourself by opening the gate and check yourself in at the self check-in shack where you’re given directions of the location of your tent. But we were fortunately greeted by Anders couple min after we entered.
View 🏞 : As soon as we got to our tent we knew this will be a relaxing experience. Lush green hills and an elegant lake just down the hill where tent#3 located. Despite of unexpected action 🚓 💨! We still managed to enjoy our stay.
Thank you Anders&Shama.
Notes 📝: Things we’d love to see improved for our future stay and would help future guests as well. Would be great to have mini signs along your trails just in case guests forget to take a picture of the map. It would be great as well keep your bathrooms cleaned up more often so it doesn’t pile or maybe there’s a way that waste wouldn’t be too visible for the user. This will help enhance the camping/glamping experience.
Tiny House on the Hill
Cozy house, lack in amenities
The tiny house is very beautiful and perched right by the lake. There's a lot of open flat land around for a nice retreat, and the interior of the house is very cozy. Depending on your expectations, this may or may not be the most glamorous of glamping experiences on this site. Everything is solar powered, which is really awesome, though be prepared for ovens and fridges that are not plugged in (the hosts did put cooling gels in the fridge that did the trick). There wasn't any shampoo or soap in the bathroom, and the kitchen did have pots and some bowls and utensils but not much beyond that. Also, be prepared for a 30 minute ish drive on unpaved gravel road; my Toyota front-wheel drive was fine, though it's more optimized if you have the right car for the drive. We didn't do any other exploring outside the immediate surroundings because of the long unpaved drive. I think greater attention to detail might help, especially given the price (these might be expectations influenced by very positive previous experiences on Hipcamp), but I would overall recommend the stay.

Tiny House on the Hill
The tiny house was a dream. I wish we had been able to stay longer. The property is beautiful- right on a lake that you can access for walks along green open pastures with large oaks and bird calls. There is another glamping tent site(2) about 100 feet away, tho it felt completely private. Check with owners about any events they may be hosting to ensure privacy as they rent the land out for retreats…. Super nice people and I would definitely come again!

Perfect fit for us
Loved meeting Shama and Anders. Both were so friendly and interesting. We got hear a bit about the history and vision of the land. Speaking of the land- wow! It truly felt like a little oasis. Really wasn’t expecting to feel so nestled in 360 nature. It was fun to see the cows and chickens wandering around, and hear SO MANY BIRDS (if you enjoy bird songs you’ll be in love with this place). The yurt was simple and comfortable. We stayed warm even with the chill of early March. We had everything we needed. We also rented kayaks during our stay and definitely would recommend it. The reservoir is huge. Fun to explore in the kayak and by foot. Anders was really responsive to questions and Shama gave us a warm welcome upon arrival and departure. Beautiful, peaceful, private.

Amazing retreat
The heartland collective grounds were absolutely stunning. We stayed for a few days and felt so refreshed by the end - to the point where we didn’t really want to leave. I recommend doing yoga under the sun on the big platform and then taking a cold plunge in the lake afterwards. It’s a blast 😊 In the late afternoon, take an easy stroll along the path near the lake to enjoy the sunset. At every point of the day, but especially in the morning, the birds fill the air with song which makes the land feel like it’s out of a fairytale. Being at this place is a pure delight. We can’t wait to go back.

Amazing Destination
This is one of those rare places you don't want to tell anyone about, because you want to keep it all to yourself. It is SOOOOO quiet and comfortable and it's the perfect mix of modern amenities and "roughing" it out in nature. I can't say enough great things and am looking forward to going back during the warmer months!

Slept like babies
What a lovely spot! We stayed here one night on our way to Yosemite and we would definitely come back for more. The tent was so comfortable, we all slept perfectly, including our 2-month old! There was an easy to use propane stove in the communal kitchen so we could fry up some eggs and boil our water for coffee pour overs for breakfast.
Due to our travel plans we had to arrive around 10:30pm so the bumpy gravel road headed in to the site felt long and stressful, but as we came out in the morning we realized it wasn’t too bad, just best navigated in the daylight.

A peaceful getaway
We were so happy we stumbled upon Anders and Shama's super cool place at Heartland Collective for the labor day weekend. We had the best glamping experience in a private tent surrounded by inspiring art, a starry night, a beautiful lake, and calmness all around. The chickens were adorable and the hammocks with the mist was such a fun experience, and much needed in the 100 degrees heat. All the essentials were provided, the community kitchen was well equipped to cook our own meal. We had a very relaxing and unique stay away from city life.
